We found some action figures called World Peacekeepers at Big Lots for 13.00. We got the idea from Broken Barbie TV on youtube. I'm not sure about swapping the heads but I couldn't beat 13.00 for an African American and Afro-Latino articulated male dolls. They struggle to fit Ken's clothing. Hope this helps.
Ken dolls should definitely be articulated, but i feel Barbie's articulation should be a *little* limited cos i hate the way the joints look in most of the clothing. i think all Barbie dolls should be articulated like Beauty Secrets Barbie: bendable arms/ articulated wrists, click & bend legs. it's nearly seamless and it looks a lot less like an 'action figure in a dress'.
The AA dolls are more expensive sometimes because they are more popular. For many years it was the opposite with the Caucasian ones being more expensive. But now it is this way and in a way I think that is progress.

I'm in the US, have no car, poor bus service, and limited options. So many ppl can find these articulated dolls at thrift stores, in flea markets, or yard/garage sales. Our thrift stores rarely get Barbie dolls (only once in the last 10 years have i found one). I can't get to the flea markets or yard sales, and noone I know is interested in going to them. We have Target, but lack of inexpensive transportation makes getting there a rarity. The scalpers and resellers are often quick to grab the clearance stuff and overcharge online, ruining it for ppl like you and I. if you have a car, you're in luck but otherwise, forget it. (NO, I don't want sympathy, just saying that to just get a bunch of articulated dolls on the cheap isn't an option for everyone.) I keep hoping to find an English video on adding articulation, instead of just swapping bodies or heads. There must be SOMEONE....

There are flea markets but in the 1 or 2 times I've been able to get to one they either are overpriced, don't have any, or get sold out by the earlybirds. As i said, I don't have a car and the nearest flea markets are about 45 minutes away by car and not on a busline. Since I don't have a car, taking a cab is out of the question because the cost outweighs the savings. I would rather try to articulate the doll myself at this point instead of trying to find one that matches.

Been trying to locate a Gale and Finnick for body transplanting. I'm so fed up with Mattel it ain't even funny no more. Molded hair, molded pants, cheap materials, misleading outfits that look separate but aren't. Hell, I'd even take the old snap joint knee doll back! Anything but these stiff ass mannequin like fashionistas!

There are also the Batman and Superman collector dolls that have the muscular Ken body. The Barbie Basics black Ken with the same face but stiffer body was hard to find, so when the Texas A&M version first came out I got him as soon as I could. Should have gotten another. Integrity dolls are bigger than Kens, so they'd be towering over Mattel dolls. I think a Chinese knock off action figure body from ebay might be a good bet, though I believe the black doll bodies are a bit on the dark side for most Kens, but some are double jointed like Made to Move dolls. "Roxanne's Dolls" on Blogspot/blogger.com is one blog that features a lot of mixed matched body swapping and comparing of fashion dolls and collectible figures (women, men, and children dolls) that might be helpful.
We definitely need more articulated males! As for Divergent, personally, I prefer The hunger Games. The two are very similar, but I'd seen THG first and couldn't stop myself from comparing the two while watching Divergent. And the Divergent movies are way different from the books, and way off in some aspects. So it's okay, but I prefer THG. :)

I got the Captain Kirk doll from Tuesday Morning yesterday, and he was 10% off due to his box being damaged, but I wish the doll had either a Yellow, Purple, or Pink tag, so I could get a better deal.

Did you watch the Divergent Series? Its a lot like hunger games, world split up and one girl to unite them all sounds like a familiar recipe right? Both are good. What about the Gale doll from hungergames? I think that he and finnick have the same face mold but look very different. The AA doll was so expensive because there are still limited worldwide quantities in pink label and he was the first (and only) pivotal AA ken and was snapped up precisely to body swap. There are great examples of fashionista repaints and scalping.

You could try spray painting the skin tone to match. They are hard ABS plastic spray paint that's is plastic safe works. If any of the body have soft vinyl parts you would have to use a vinyl safe spray paint primer first, or it will go sticky.
I love your videos! I have also used action figure bodies that I bought on eBay. You have to make sure to get the right neck ,just match it up with the Ken's same neck shape. You can buy Integrity bodies separate from their website. They are sold out at the moment.

I just started collecting dolls again after a good 15 years hiatus and realized very quickly there aren’t no articulated kens WTH. I am very tempted to buy an integrity doll. However the integrity doll that I was going to purchase was $180. Can’t do it😥 I agree Mattel needs to change their game plan for the adult collectors, Who in my opinion are people who can afford to buy more than two dolls at a time.

The fashion royalty dolls are so much taller. I bought the my little pony brown skinned one and couldnt fit him in my dioramas so i swapped him to the texas A&M body. Guess i am one of the strange ones :)
Fashionistas used to be articulated when they first came out, due to the idea you could pose them. Then Mattel and all toy companies decided that too much money, so they stopped it. Oh, and Mattel makes less dark skin dolls, so they are more rare than the white ones.
If you go to amazon, look up Mattel's /Barbie's "Olympic Skater Ken (African American)" , Barbie's Swan Lake and Barbie's Prince and the Pauper. Also look into some of the Disney store dolls. I saw a Prince Naveen doll that had joints in the knees and elbows for less than twenty dollars on amazon. Sure it's not Fully articulated but still better than the dry old stiffies that a person Usually gets stuck with with these sorts of dolls. Also look into some of the old G.I.Joe type dolls. Goodness knows my "girls" dumped Ken for Destro. XD
I Noticed something similar about the Disney "Pocahontas Barbie doll" As Someone who's 87% Oglala Sioux, Lakota a Plains Native American It's interesting that they've recently Remade the Pocahontas doll thats now in store's since like ( 1996 ) But Her skin Tone isn't that of what a Native Americans, would look like. It's a bit Sad to say they've Made it Much lighter, and it's like they've Spray painted certain areas of Pocahontas. You should look on ebay they got some bodies they call them action figures but they are 1/6 Scale 12" Action Figure Male Body Model Toy Doll. I have one on the way they don't come with a head and they have some called 1:6 Scale Flexible Military Army Police Soldier Action Figures these have a head and they are all articulated I'm getting one this week. The older ken Fashionistas dolls have articulation. Check eBay and sometimes Etsy will have them but the African American ken look on eBay and Amazon they might have what’s called Kenya’s world dolls and try that
There are too many scalpers and resellers on eBay these days, charging ridiculous prices for articulated dolls. I only wish the local thrift stores in my area got them, but it seems like they never have Barbie or Ken dolls of any kind.
The actor that plays Four, the doll...he's British...Theo James, I don't think he's Latino, but he definitely looks like he's got some history in him. 😉😏 I'm not a fan of the symbolism either.
Not sure about the point of this. Divergent and TEXAS A&M (and Peta, though I don't have him) are much better looking than any of the standard Kens and they don't have the join around their necks like Frankenstein's Monster. There is an awful Justin Bieber doll that is jointed and could take a better looking Ken.

I buy the white dolls and paint them brown. I seal them with Mr Super Clear. Also you can order action figure bodies on EBay that might may match.

If you go to amazon, look up Mattel's /Barbie's "Olympic Skater Ken (African American)" , Barbie's Swan Lake and Barbie's Prince and the Pauper. Also look into some of the Disney store dolls. I saw a Prince Naveen doll that had joints in the knees and elbows for less than twenty dollars on amazon. Sure it's not Fully articulated but still better than the dry old stiffies that a person Usually gets stuck with with these sorts of dolls. Also look into some of the old G.I.Joe type dolls. Goodness knows my "girls" dumped Ken for Destro. XD

I Noticed something similar about the Disney "Pocahontas Barbie doll" As Someone who's 87% Oglala Sioux, Lakota a Plains Native American It's interesting that they've recently Remade the Pocahontas doll thats now in store's since like ( 1996 ) But Her skin Tone isn't that of what a Native Americans, would look like. It's a bit Sad to say they've Made it Much lighter, and it's like they've Spray painted certain areas of Pocahontas. You should look on ebay they got some bodies they call them action figures but they are 1/6 Scale 12" Action Figure Male Body Model Toy Doll. I have one on the way they don't come with a head and they have some called 1:6 Scale Flexible Military Army Police Soldier Action Figures these have a head and they are all articulated I'm getting one this week. The older ken Fashionistas dolls have articulation. Check eBay and sometimes Etsy will have them but the African American ken look on eBay and Amazon they might have what’s called Kenya’s world dolls and try that
There are too many scalpers and resellers on eBay these days, charging ridiculous prices for articulated dolls. I only wish the local thrift stores in my area got them, but it seems like they never have Barbie or Ken dolls of any kind.

I have bought some Star Trek Captain Kirk and Spock dolls for their articulation. They are black label too.
Not sure about the point of this. Divergent and TEXAS A&M (and Peta, though I don't have him) are much better looking than any of the standard Kens and they don't have the join around their necks like Frankenstein's Monster.
There is an awful Justin Bieber doll that is jointed and could take a better looking Ken.
