    What an amazing place, and thrilled for Bray having got this off the ground - looks like it’s getting some serious momentum. Those discoveries are incredible! Shame I packed in deep sky after a lot of challenges! 🤣🤣

    This is so cool. I’ve been debating reserving a spot in one of their next three buildings, so this video is very timely! Awesome video, Ian

    Great vid Ian!! Loving my experience at Starfront & been there for over a month now. Amazing prices, super fun community we have, and the darkest skies. It’s worth the low monthly price

    Very cool. How are calibration frames taken?

      You can take your dark/bias libraries at home before shipping your equipment, or have one of the techs put your lens cap on when you want to do them. Sky flats work great but some people use a flip-flat panel.

    Did you get a good look at the expansion? Im shipping in a couple days and concerned Ill have to wait for the new buildings.

    • @ianlauerastro
      @ianlauerastro  3 месяца назад

      They weren't building yet when I was out there, but there's tons of land and these observatories can be built quite quickly. Also I believe they are making 3 buildings instead of 2 (as I stated in the video) since they've received even more folks signing up.

    That is an awesome move and congratulations.
    I’m a little bit perplexed, however they’re not requiring higher end mounts that can home themselves ?
    AM5 and ASI airs for remote?
    These remote set ups, if not planned properly, can create bigger headaches, and most importantly can be a hobby killer .

    Question. When we ship gear from Europe. Is there import tax involved we have to pay, and if so, how much?

    • @ianlauerastro
      @ianlauerastro  3 месяца назад

      Unfortunately I’m not a tax expert so I can’t help, but there are some folks who are shipping internationally who are in the discord that can help

      Hi Christoph, , i checked the same thing. Unless you have spare or excess equipment you don't want to use at home, it is a better deal to buy some new gear in the States and have it shipped there. Gear is much less costly in the States. I operate out of Copenhagen, and I am considering to get new gear in the states and have it shipped to Starfront.

      It's a shame it's not like that anymore. Nowadays, due to light pollution, there will be people who will live their entire lives without ever seeing it.

    Hello
    Watched your telescope buying guide
    Man thanks a lot it was very helpful
    But lemme just ask
    Whats the poimt of smart "telescope" if you gonna watch the image on ur phone or laptop
    Like worthless
    I want that classic feeling of watching them with my own eyes
    Gonna go for skywatcher dobsonian telescope ig for visuals (gotta save some first 😅)
    I will surely buy a diff one in future for astrophotography
    Thanks man
    Also if you have time i would like to talk to you bout astronomy
    It will be very appreciated thanks 🙏🙏
