There’s a necessary difference between having a single vocalist (male) compared to a trio of vocalists (all female in this case). They’ve made the harsh vocals more harsh and the melodic more melodic. Violet Orlandi (Brunette on the right) is a power alto that can reach into the soprano. Addie, the one in the middle is a soprano that can almost match the depths of Violet’s voice and soar higher than most anyone in the business (Look for Halocene’s ‘an octave higher’ short videos). Lauren is the one you like the most and has a mid-range between the other two in her regular singing voice and can dig up Hell with her growl voice. Vocally, they compliment each other amazingly well. So this song isn’t quite up to your standards. I urge you to dive into their( individual and collaborative) musical offerings and see just how much range they have together or individually. (Violet has an epilepsy-inducing version of B.Y.O.B. collaborating with Ai Mori that was really entry released)

Thank you sir for taking a chance on this. I know you prefer the heavier stuff but I think this is a great cover. Granted I'm a fanboy. Serge has one of those voices you just can't copy, so you have to do something different or fail in comparison. I didn't figure you would be completely sold on this, but one thing I respect about you is you can step back from your own preferences and see the merit in something even if it isn't your cuppa. Great reaction!

@@BaldHeadedMETAL I fully expected you to like Lauren best, lol. She's a beast. I might suggest something of hers, solo

It's funny you say that, because "Know" has always been a personal favorite of mine. The first 2 SOAD albums are perfect from start to finish, the first album is very underrated and I never really see anyone mention it.
I remember watching the music video for "Hypnotized" every morning on MTV before school (can't remember if it was middle school or high school), that was how I discovered SOAD.

I 1,000% agree with you at the end about the MGK cover, EVERYTHING about it was wrong lol. Even the musicians weren't up to par, MGK is one of the biggest jack@$$es in music. He gives Axl Rose a run for his money lmaooo 😅🤣🤣

Very much agree with your analysis. I feel like the one on the right is getting the right feel, while the other two feel like they've been pulled from Pentatonix. I'm not personally a fan of that sound in general. I know a lot of people are blown away by it, but it's not my cup of tea. Regardless, that Pentatonix harmony and vocal style just doesn't fit the Chop Suey sound.
