ROCKY II REVIEW - AND WHY IT'S THE BEST ROCKY MOVIE

With the recent passing of Carl Weathers, I wanted to do a review of what I believe is the best Rocky film...Rocky II. I'm aware that I'm in the minority with this opinion, but I stand firm in my view. I think Stallone was well aware of what made the first film great and improved on it in nearly every aspect. Apollo Creed was never better than what he was in this film.

Ya nailed it Mr. Wilson. 2 was the first Rocky I ever saw and I was hooked. Saw it in High School and the emotional content was amazing. Surprisingly Stallone himself only rated it at around a 7 out of 10 while rating the others in an interview which surprised me.

Agree, 💯 I’ve always liked 2, if you’re not choked up at the end. Also found out last year that when the taunting happened after the 2nd round that all was real. Apparently Sly and Carl actually connected during the shooting and Carl was pissed which resulted in that great exchange. But I will say the best training scene is in 3, Rocky and Apollo👏👏 dude that was awesome.

Yes, that training sequence is money! And really, if the Rocky movies do anything consistently well, it’s training montages. But for me, it’s the music and the lead up that put part 2 at the top. Thanks for watching:)

Rocky has always been my favourite and it's my favourite training and fight scene for the rest. I always said that Apollo was Rocky's toughest opponent. I was lucky enough to see Rocky 2 in the cinema as it was re released for a short time about 3 years ago

Anyone who thinks Rocky V is the best one, probably thinks the same about The Godfather, Part Iii.
Rocky II is my favorite. I have watched it the most. It is my marathon inspiration movie. When I ran the Philadelphia Marathon in 2021, I even made my own version of Rocky II. That was a dream come true.
