all three of the finalists were bloody incredible, and all three deserved to win just as much. him not winning was just a matter of chance, and in fact it's almost better that he didn't. he has come out with multiple original songs that are all great, Melanie (though she is absolutely equal to any powerful female singer) has only come out with her own version of an already existing song. the only thing that would have been stupid is if he didn't get signed, but he did so everything works out
