Tony, This is the first video of yours that I have watched. I have been trying to figure out how best to approach a new spot I found, to photograph some wildlife, and this video helped me out a lot. Thank you for the content.
Great video and lovely shots of the owl at the end. Some real good advice on shooting the birds (not tilting camera up makes sense....i will defo keep that in mind, Thanks).
thanks. I can't say that I hold myself to that "don't tilt up" mantra all the time, but I try to. The most interesting shots are not typically above you.
Excellent! Here in Montana they breed and my favorite time is July thru October. Sometimes I see 30-50 owls in a tall grass field during migration in the fall. The northern harriers and short-eared owls often chase each other which makes for some interesting action photos. I also shoot at 1/1000 as they are typically fairly slow targets and panning is fairly easy to keep them in the frame. Excellent tip to try shoot with non-sky background and use of eye detection!
30-50! That sounds amazing. Yes, we get some great encounters between the Harriers and the SEO's. They make fun rivals. Thanks for stopping by and saying, HI.
Just came upon your channel. I enjoyed your video and your mellow straight to the point style. I wish you great success
Thanks. Much appreciated!!!
Tony good job, thank you very much for sharing!!
My pleasure! Thanks for stopping by.
Great shots!
Thanks! In the next episode I'll go through my culling and post processing techniques! Appreciate you stopping by.
