  • We Need to Keep Following the Middle East; An Update on What is Going on in the War (Global Connections). The host for this show was Jay Fidell. The guest was Roopmati Khandekar.
The discussion was: Roopmati Khandekar, geopolitical analyst, helps us understand the efforts of the US to bring about a culmination of the ceasefire and hostage deals in the Middle East. Is the upcoming election playing a catalyst role in the efforts towards the same ? Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to send a delegation to resume stalled negotiations on a hostage release with Hamas and had even authorized the US team to join the talks with Qatari and Egyptian mediators. The underlying condition- Israel will end the war 'only after meeting all its goals'. The show will also discuss the domestic pressures for reaching the tables for negotiations of the two pronged deal. The continuous disturbances continue from the North (Lebanon) and the Houthi in Yemen.
The takeaway was: There are so many things happening in Europe and in the US that sometimes we forget to follow what is happening in the Middle East and especially in the war against Israel. The stakes are really high, and we need to follow what is happening on a regular basis.
