why calculate 2 for 1 at beginning of year and all transactions for the year instead of splitting 2 for 1 (multiply by 2) in the last 3 months only - October when was split?
you answered the question right at end - bc stock split occurred after all other common stock transactions were performed the split is applied to all common stocks.
