- The 50 State Shred may be on pause for the moment, but I was still able to get out for one last ride before the lockdown.
Send it Sarah showed me her favorite Pisgah descents and they were absolutely amazing. I cannot believe how good my new bike felt. Didn’t think I was even going to be able to tell. I think it might be the trails.
I’ll be dreaming about this ride for a long time.

When you meet your wife and youre too focused on your new bike to notice.
This is a top notch comment hahahahahah 👍
Sean K. White very insightful. There seems to be some chemistry there.
Aye they make a cute couple ❤️
Mark King in his defense it IS a really nice bike.
Brian! Dude. Lol. I don't know what to say. Good for you. Look left, you got a great partner there.
Don't let it get away. Be safe.
Social distancing, 6 feet apart or 6 feet under. It's your choice.
Be good, do better!!!
I would say just keep up with your plan but don't worry if it gets done in a year. Nobody is holding you to a time limit, we just enjoy the rides. Stay safe out there.
Yes
Never should have been a year. You will miss stuff if you don't take your time!
Yep I agree Brian ... if you loose a month or two then just extend the time frame 🤘
totally agree
It started with 20' social distancing and ended up eating off the same plate.
Dude that girl is perfect for you.
This looks like a fun loop, and Sarah was killing it, great combo of personalities here :)
She wsa killing it! Those stairs are no joke to try and ride up!
Prayers for your mom on the front lines and all the others. These videos are helping me get through this! They closed all of our trails two weeks back here :(
Every time you meet a beautiful woman I'm like, OMG this is the one!
Here in Spain we've been in lockout since March 14th and the thing I miss the most is being able to ride my bike. Keep giving it the beans!
I love your content and how open/honest you are with your subscribers! It's easy to tell how much you love what you do. It'd cool to see you in Seth's garage and I'm loving the content coming out of you, Seth, and Alex already!
Same here, it's helping me stay sane
HEck yeah!
Whoa - loving the silent hub.
I like what you have mentioned at the beginning of the video. 1yr on we have not got much better. Take care.
Thank you for keeping us entertained during the course of this lock down! I know I appreciate it! Be safe and give your mom a big Thank You❤️!
"What if" you took a minute with each person you ride with and ask them about their bike and why they chose it. You're exposed to so many people, so much gear and so many opinions, it seems like an opportunity missed...
Excellent idea!
Man, I did a second take as I wrote something similar in another video comment...total lost opportunity! I'd love to see what other people are riding and what they think about it.
#moreSarah (when its safe to go out again)
More collab videos with Sarah dude! She rocks the riding and the pair of you bounce off each other really well with the commentary.
It is so funny that so many of us had the same idea. I never browse the comments but needed to this time because... wife material. You guys were very entertaining to watch together and man, is she ever a great rider.
We are totally cool with the adventures of Brian and Sarah. Also - I’d say just keep the 50 state goal going and we all know you’ll get it done as soon as you can.
I don't understand the last part of your post, is there a hidden message in there, i.e., "you'll get it done", lol.
John S He keeps saying he doesn’t know what will happen with the 50 state challenge. But I was simply saying that just get back to it whenever you get back to it and we know you’ll get it done.
good reflexes wat a save 11:47
shes into you brian LOOL
Sarah is great! Great vid! Thanks as usual.
I like my bikes slack, my trails gnarly, and my RUclipsr’s hubs silent-Supercool!!
Dude I have been sick at home for a week and a half with covid symptoms. I'm on the mend now but I desperately needed this video. Reminded me of going out on a rig, getting food, hanging out. This is exactly what I needed to see to boost morale. Also love the style of riding, I'm tired of watching all the Johnny-shred-too-hards out there. Great stuff.
More Sarah please, she can shred and she is nice!
I feel you on the mom thing, my dads 80 and been in and out of hospital a cpl times the past month, trying not to stress too much and your vids help keep my mind off it sometimes🤙
Bathtub, glass of red wine, BKXC on the RUclips. Who needs to travel for Easter? I've got all I need right here
There was something about you both there :) stick to that girl mate, she seems nice! :)
Brother , I've never seen anybody ride with such grace and effortlessness as you do , blessings and keep the rubber down .
Two of my favorites in the area. Great trails. I can't wait until this Corona mess is over so I can get back there. Great vid. Stay safe! 👊👊
We are very lucky here in Japan. Because there are no lockdowns and shutdowns and we still have our jobs. Be safe the Brian!
Another fun video on what looks like a fun trail, the company looks fun to, and as always your enthusiasm is contagious. Talking about what's going on is just natural, everyone can relate to this virus issue. I've been watching your channel from day one, time to go to Patreon.
Ripmo absolutely crushed that chunk. Good to see trails I’ve been on to put GoPro effect into perspective.
Great trail.
Hey Brian, you guys could be the next Syd and Macky!
That is definately one of the best Pisgah loops ! Thank you and stay safe !
You’ve rode way more states & countries than me. I love living vicariously through your channel. 🤙🤙
A few minutes in the video and I can't resist already coming here to comment how good the video is with the silent hub! Makes the trail even more lively! Makes me wanna build a bike with one too. Not yet finished watching, but it would be nice if you talk about what you think and feel about these new parts you've got!
EDIT: yeah, you do make some comments about them towards the end of the video lol! Great one again!
Sarah just seems like the nicest person you've come across in a long time. Also, about the bike, that is the strongest, most definitive statement I've heard about the new Ripmo being superior to the older version. Best to your Mom, that is courageous work she does.
BKXC: Encounters any mtn bike woman.
BKXC Fans: YES.
The tension in that video is unbelievable, I started to feel like I was intruding. Good luck you guys. ;)
Again, thanks for showcasing our trails! WNC has a lot to offer. I hope you recognized the “no roller blading” sticker at top of black mountain!!!
Felt a bit of a gooseberry watching that 😊
Awesome video! Sarah can ride! More videos with her
Man, the trail sounds are so amazing!
First, good stuff BKXC. Keep safe and we are all excited to keep watching your content.
amazing video, awesome vibes, you guys are a match for sure
how right you were about the lockdown. great concept and great series. I'm enjoying it so much I let the ads run!
So much awesomeness in Pisgah!
Looks like your chain needs to be a little longer on the new bike. That derailleur looks maxed out on stretch.
Yeah it does.
I think you might be right!
Sweet video! The new bike is amazing. Truly a dream bike!
Sarah is damn good!
Brian I hope your mom stays safe ! Love your vlogs .
Great Video! Looks like BKXC is headed back to Cali but he's leave'n his heart in Hendersonville. She's a Ripper and a Cuttie!
18:44 hahah Brian, that laugh just sums up mountain biking for me :D
Hahaha, most definitely!
you two would make a great couple!!!
I like this girl a lot! And she can shred. And she has the same bike as I. Ride with her any day. Looks like a most enjoyable ride Brian.
That climb to Bennett gap eats your soul
Use silicone sealant to plug holes on frame, if you ever change back to cables just pluck them out.
"Now that I've bummed everyone out (...)". Dude, that's usually my job.
You can plug the frame hole using any king of foam (e.g. the non-expanding plumber foam), or tape it over. Or just ignore it -- you know you will forget it in no time.
People were going to the forest like they do to the park -- in groups -- here in Poland, so now all our forests are closed. Looks like I'm a roadie this season.
They make rubber inserts to plug the cable holes. I contacted Niner after buying my bike and they sent me two. Not sure what they're called but they work great and I bet Ibis will send you some if you reach out to them.
Take care back at home, Brian. I can understand you wanting to head back. Inspirational video as always. All the best
Very nice trails, the camera is deceptive, a couple of those drops didn't look too bad, then you/Sarah shot the drop form the bottom and wow! This is our 4th week of lock down in the UK, so its nice to see great trails and remind me how much fun mountain biking is, it gives me something to look forward. And what great weather to boot.
Sarah Rocks!
Dude, great video. All smiles.
Great video! Love the connection between you and Sarah. If I were you, I'd stay on voluntary shelter-in-place until some of this blows over. Hopefully it won't be very long! Then get back out. When you get to Connecticut you've got to hit Rockland Preserve and The Rez!
Can't wait to get back out there and ride those trails! Awesome content as always. You and Sarah make a great riding duo!
North Carolina trails are amazing :) Great stuff BKXC!
Your channel has suddenly improved in quality!! Heeeeeeeee here comes the fun! 😉 She is a keeper!!
Great Video Brian, lots of fast trails with the right amount of jumps & hard climbs.
Your videos are really enjoyable, thanks. Stay safe & be careful.Oh Sarah is one hell
of a rider, I could take some lessons from the both of you.
Dude!!!!! super cool New Mexico is warm and waiting for you !
Thanks Brian I came with you on that fun ride, it was a lot smother on the home trainer and the climbs no problem. I though your new bike did not like you at the beginning but it did come around look after your self.
Man.. you are very fun when riding your bicycle anywhere, I am very motivated to do Mountain Biking because of you, Cheers from Indonesia
Thank you for being safe... just a great video
Keep up the vids my guy, you got me into RUclips content creating. Got a gimbal and gopro... filming as soon as my locals open!
Thanks Brian! Another great video. Living in Italy I can write you a letter from your future... I just entered my 5th week of lockdown, meaning 5 weeks we cannot get outside except for grocery shopping and a few other stuff. Open air sport actives are forbidden unless you stay within 200 meters from your home. Theoretically the Government decree should end on April 13 but we all know that on Thursday or Friday our Prime Minister will extend the end of the lockdown as the curve hasn't flattened yet. Probably we will stay home for the rest of April.
Positive thing is people stopped assaulting supermarkets and buying all the toilet paper; now pure alcohol (the pink one to disinfect), brewer's yeast and flour are the hard-to-find items. And more and more people are asked to wear a mask (in some region is compulsory) when they go outside and have the chance to be with other people (i.e. supermarkets...), online yoga classes are the must and a lot of artists are live-streaming everyday on instagram.
It seems it will take some other weeks, so be prepared and hopefully you have some video to drop and ease our quarantine.
Best from Turin, really hope to see you, or anybody else, back on trail soon.
Thanks so much for the update, it's good to hear from people all over the world. Stay strong!!
Thanks for showing the temperature in celsius 😀
I put the metal stop at the end of an old shift cable in my Ibis DV9 and it worked to plug the cable routing hole really well.
Shes so cheeky! Love it!
I never thought I'd roll into the comments on a mountain bike video and see all the guys cackling about relationships. LOL
3:07 Hey Brian - If you goolge "rubber thread plug" you should be able to find something, if you won't find bike specific thing under "mtb frame plug"
After this quarantine period, I think the smart move is to spend a few more weeks in the area ;)
Maaan such a cool bike build Brian!
don't worry about the bubbles brian, the bubbles I had on my foliage was gone after 2 months of riding in the sun and cleaning my bike
A great network of trails in the beautiful Smokey Mountains, NC
If you have bubbles under the tape, you can easily puncture them with a needle. So the air can escape and you won't notice the small puncture.
There was a shit ton of sasquatch structures, in those woods. Arches, structures and mid-tree breaks. Pretty cool 😎
Hey Brian, your videos are awesome. I love that you’ve pre-recorded your videos. Selfishly, I can now keep looking forward to a weekly hit of escapism. They just shut the mountains here on the North Shore and so your vids are important for keeping spirits high! You’re doing a sterling job.. good luck
Thanks dude!
I can actually feel how plush that Lyrik is through the video. Super jealous of the new bike!
Love your take on everything..wish I could ride right now. Canada is still frozen. At least you get to hang out with Seth. Keep it going. Love the positivity!!
As much as I like the POV content. I really love the vlog / food / new town content. :) Keep up the good work!
Love is in the air.
If you can't find cable plugs just get you some black silicone caulk. It dries rubbery so it's easy to take out if needed.
Hey Brian!
I'm sure an extended version of this video was available on Patreon (I can't get to Patreon from my work computer - which is where I'm watching this from at this moment), but I have to say I think you and Sarah are perfect riding partners. I love how you both laugh when things get techie and make you a little nervous. You two are obviously having a lot of fun on this trail system.
20:31 - Is that ketchup for her mac n cheese? Because if it is, then she's okay in my book. My kids and I *love* ketchup on mac n cheese (if it's from a box, I use sour cream to make the cheese sauce). I also like some browned ground beef in there, but that's beside the point. Ketchup on mac n cheese is awesome!
Dude, drive safe on your trip home. I really look forward to more content with you and Sarah. As always, stay upright and keep the rubber side down.
-Brian
After reading many comments, I get the impression there are many cupids on this site.
WOW, where does she get that leg strength and endurance? She is AMAZING!!!!!!!!
From ridding those trials
She's tough as nails!
She's a roadie bro.
Just think, with your genes and her genes, you'll have a potential world champion mountain biker.
@@JohnS916 I think Brian said she used to race? Plenty of talented women out there too
Great video Brian, you can still continue to ride as long as you ride in parks that are open and you keep social distancing. Prayers are with your mom and all the people in our health care system. BTW you need to put the DVO Jade X on there, it's an amazing shock 👌
Thanks man!! Hoping things aren't too tough with the restaurant right now.
@@bkxc it's bad but we are hanging in there. Got a lot of support from Mountain bikers so it's awesome
Loving the Sara videos!
If you wet the surface with water and
detergent you can put on the 3m stuff without bubbles.
"Get outta here this America"
Hahahahah I was dead
hey, love your videos man, all good here. 3 weeks on lockdown/community quarantine. not being able to go out and ride, these videos are one of those things that feed my daily mtb requirement. 🤟😁
The new bike seems to agree with you. Have fun, and thanks for all of the great content!
use soapy water when applying the 3M film. You can move it around and adjust and then just squeeze out any water using your hands/fingers. Agree 100% the 3M tape is not only less expensive but allows you to cut custom fit pieces
Glad to hear that you're stoked on the v2! Strongly considering the Ripmo AF (aluminum version) with the coil shock as my next bike
oh man that bike looks so good! Nice work on picking out components!
Aww...nothing like a video that involves making new friends! Grats on the new bike brother!
Omg! I knew there was something up with this video! Just watched the live stream and heard the news! There just seemed like a sick connection going on here! Grats bro! What a crazy year!
