First Thanks a million for sharing this amazing video. Though I am 47, I grew up listening to alot of Elvis, my grandmother adored him, and shared his music with me. About twenty years ago, I reconnected with his music, and read a few of the better books about his life including Last Train to Memphis and Careless Love: The Unmaking of Elvis Presley both by by Peter Guralnick ( highly recommend) I feel fortunate to have access to behind the scenes details illustrated by this video. As a wanna be musician, I greatly admire the massive amount of talent Elvis possessed and he was so much more complex of a person than most people will ever know. Thanks again! I can't believe that this video only has four thousand views!
I feel sad that no one was stunned enough to DO something. It's always hard to interfere, I don't care WHO it is. But you HAVE TO. Think of someone you know today, who is saying scary things and DO something. It's never easy. But do it anyway.
That's heavy. Millions of people go through break-ups and divorces, of course. But when someone, just in their 30s, says "you can put that out when I've been dead 20 years," YOU TAKE THAT SERIOUSLY. ALWAYS. I say that to say this: Elvis is long gone, but perhaps YOU know someone TODAY going through a rough time. If you hear talk like that, get involved! It's always "your business."
73 was a hard year for poor Elvis physically and emotionally. Stax did produce some of his best ever recordings, but how on earth he manged to record some of those gutwrenching ballads was beyond me, this proves that some were even even a stretch too far for him though. He was dealing with his divorce, missing his daughter, hospitalised twice I do be live one time gravely ill having been prescribed powerful steroid opiate injections, instead of acupunture needles, and other times for exascerbation of his many painful and debilitating diseases which he tried so hard to keep out of the public realm. He was only 38 years old, the world should have been his oyster as we all know col put paid to that as he had done to many of his artistic and musical aspirations over the years. Elvis bore each and everyone of his emotional scars internally, what he never could hide we the was the deep emotion, sadness, pain and regrets that came to the forefront through his vocal prowess Puttman clearly saw a grave concern for Elvis at this session, and I agree Elvis was neverthe same once Prescilla left him.
No he wasn't sacked at all. He probably was too busy producing acts like Dan Fogelberg. Norbert Putnam even played with Elvis at his February sessions in 1976 on Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain., recorded February 7. Jerry Scheff played onthe other February dates, but he had to leave due to other obligations. Same for Glen Hardin, who had to leave for other obligations, and David Briggs filled in for him instead.
It seems clear Elvis was very conflicted. His Southern background and his mother valued family and Elvis valued family; however, the fact is that Elvis cheated on Priscilla over and over. He liked being Elvis Presley, Rock Star and women were conquests and a way of proving himself. At least that’s my take on it. It was sad. He needed a top notch therapist to help him sort out a lot of stuff.
An interesting and amazing storyline and information. Until the very last thing. “Hey putt, I think he was thinking about Priscilla. “No duh! Ya think? Some people can be so completely heartless and dense. Putt had monetary ties and it was all down the drain. There was infinitely more down the drain than that.
He seems like he really cared for Elvis.
He did..as any dad would.

So what happened to the recording?
What was the song Elvis couldn't finish ?
"We Had It All"
Check it out BJ Thomas version here in YT.
Waylon did the original and definitive version.

Didn´t Norbert Putnam get sacked?
