The title 😂 I hit 30 and I felt ashamed .. but then that grew a little. I’m in a space that if I’m using and loving them, they have a purpose in my life right now.

Ha ha ha I hit the 42 luxury bags, just Hermès I have 15. I’m just a crazy bag lover. It is a lot? Absolutely!!! But I’m keeping them all and I wear them with love. I cannot have just 5 bags, it’s just not me. Honestly I own it, it makes me happy and I don’t feel bad one bit. I don’t think I’ll add many more obviously, but I will always love it. ❤ I’m older and can afford it without stressing. I would give up all my bags for my kids, it’s not even a question for me. At the end of the day, it’s material. I also have many pets, 3 cats and a dog, in case of a fire, I would not even think about saving my bags quite honestly. I have lives to think about way before bags!
I love it! You have your priorities straight. I may try to grab my birkins and stuff Q in there and run out the door with Toby lol! All jokes aside yes, these are all replaceable. As long as you are happy with your collection that's all that matters.

title is wild lol. i don’t know how many i have either. i try to just have 1 of colors i don’t wear often. (green, purple, red) etc. if i have multiple, i find that i just reach for 1 anyway. great video ❤

I love bags. Just like Michael Corleone says in GF III “Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in.” Same with bags. I think I am done, that I have much more than I can reasonably use… then BAM! I fall in love with another 😊

I love my bags, but I sell those that I do not use. Do not see a point in storing them. I became more aware of what I like and one thing is - no heavy bags.
I loved the bags I had stored. But rather have them be used. So sold them. No need to keep things just because they are beautiful.

I've been a big saver and investor since my early 20s. So, to me, no bag is worth luxury pricing and I love a good deal. I own 15 bags and that is my absolute max. I actually feel a bit overwhelmed by how many I have right now and will sell something before buying anything new. Once I get around 15 bags, it's hard to appreciate and use them all. I buy most of my bags from small companies that make bags one at a time. I love brands like Herz Leather, Rough & Tumble, and a few others. My lifestyle is very casual and I have no need to more formal structured-looking bags. I think this is a great topic and the push I needed to look through my bags and find something to sell.
I love all the different perspectives. I've never heard of the brands you mentioned. Goes to show how many indie brands there are out there! Selling the bags you don't use also feels great sometimes.
Love this! I particularly love when you mentioned finding joy in your bags, unlike not having a "reason" to have them, especially if you have all the money to do so. If I get to that point, I would know that it's time to stop and invest somewhere else.
I have enough that I can say that I enjoy each of them, but I also still have a shopping list . I have a couple that are "trial" bags that I love until I find the "right" one to replace it. I am more mindful now, and I know the style that works for me and my lifestyle because I want to use them and not just to collect dust. I would give them up for my kids, but for now, mommy deserves them 😊.
Mommy definitely deserves it all! Maybe one day, they will buy you a bag? 😉 Yes, if these bags don't bring you joy then what's the point? Yes, we do have to be more mindful with our spending. Ha...my bank account is leering at me as I say that.

First of all, I’d judge those ppl who come here to judge how many bags others own. They are at the wrong place to begin with. Everyone has their own collections, ppl collect every new color of Stanleys, the latest makeup release, funko pop, etc. it’s no one’s position to judge others just because it’s not their interest. Back to how many bags I feel comfortably to own, I’d say 20-25, more than 25 pcs I’d feel the anxiety of not being able to rotate them all and some of them could be left out, or taking up too many space, or too much time to maintain and organize. This is an interesting topic for the handbag community, we all have our opinion but interested to hear others, how fun!! As much as I love handbags, if I have to give them up for booking an experience yet memorable trip (when money is tight) for our family, I’d not hesitate to do so.

Depends on lifestyle and geography. Living in Miami now working at home. 1 season, light color palette, and don’t need more than 1 tote. Could get away with 3, but have 10.

For me, my decision and personal preference is what I can personally comfortably travel with- ideally with just a carry on. For this reason, I have 2 Longchamps (A large one to use as personal bag while traveling, and a medium one folded up nicely inside). Also one clutch I was gifted from Hermes, and a TPM Evelyne from Hermes. That's really all I need- my absolute maximum is 5 and that is pushing it.
That is very disciplined! 5 is great number. You can always switch out any of the 5 bags
I like how even when you considered limiting the bags by type, you by default still went to FIVE of each type, lol. Not criticism, it was just kind of funny. :) I used to be one of those people who had just 2 bags (excluding travel and backpack): one for a daily use (a shoulder hobo), and one for occasions (like a cheap sparkly clutch). I think you only need a casual beater (crossbody or belt bag), a casual nice bag (crossbody or shoulder), and a fancy bag, so just 3. Maybe to mix it up, 2 colors of each, one warm tone neutral and one cool tone neutral, so 6 total. I have 13 and feel like I have too many (but still want more!)
hahaah i know...i was giving myself more wiggle room by saying 5 of each. Like, I would not own 5 backpacks..I actually dont have a single backpack. Does that mean that 5 allotment can go to flap bags? 😂 Yea if i were a normal person..I think I would probably own like 5-10 handbags.

I don't know the right number and I'm not willing to count. But I have reached the point that I have to think very hard about adding anything else bc it's already too many. I feel like I know what works and doesn't work for me at this point which helps me resist the influence to buy.

I have 3 bags-I want a new leather bag but cannot decide-I honestly have only carried one bag for a while now just because of where I am in my life becoming debt free and trying not to spend money on something that isn’t a necessity compared to other things I could save for like vacations
Thanks for sharing! Yes, definitely have your priorities. I made sure I'm financially stable before starting to buy bags "aggressively." There are plenty of great quality leather bags in the 200-300 range that you can treat yourself to. Do not ever feel like you have to spend 3k on a bag...nice to but completely unnecessary.
I know I have too many. I’m in the 40’s probably. I did sell like 13 Bags recently but then I ended up buying more. I just really enjoy bags and always have. I can’t have just 1 or 2. Also, what happens when you have an event? You can’t carry a LV neverfull to a wedding. So when I was building my collection I thought of things like that. Events, seasons, travel, etc
If it brings you joy then why not? You just got rid of the ones you no longer enjoy which is completely ok. That just means someone else is enjoying them. Yes you need bags for every occasion
I currently have 12 bags and I hope not to exceed 14-15 bags. I use the same bag every day for months and then I switch: I don't change bags to match specific outfits or occasions. For work, I use the laptop bag my work computer came with. I also don't travel and don't go to events where an evening bag would be appropriate, so I don't have any travel bags or clutches. (And even if I did go to a fancy event, I'd just use one of my nicer crossbodies like my Tory Burch Ruched Kira, A.P.C. Small Grace, Polene Neuf Mini, etc.) The main distinction that has attracted me to bags has been color/texture. For example, I wanted a fuchsia bag with gold hardware and ended up going for the Mulberry Mini Alexa in mulberry pink because it was my favorite design I had come across in the specific color I wanted. And when I realized all 3 of my black bags were smooth leather, I decided to pick up the Polene Tonca in black because I liked the design and it has a more grained texture. I still really want a baby pink bag with gold hardware, and probably one additional pebbled leather black bag, but buying any bags beyond that would be going overboard for my collection personally.
Sounds like you got your handbag collection and process down to a tee! I love it. That just means that you dont waste any time or money going thru a ton of purchases figuring out what you like/need. Dont judge me...I cycle thru a ton of bags apparently lol
I love bags but I’m with you 150%… if I had to sacrifice the whole thing to help animals…. I would in a heart beat. I recently retired and am currently “culling” my bag collection due to changes in lifestyle. Thank you as always for your perspective and candor in your videos.❤
That's amazing! I would do anything for these two brats that give me so much happiness. 😂 Even when they wake me up at 630am for breakfast. When I retire I would spend a lot more of my free time doing volunteer work.
I have 36 luxury bags and 1 Kate Spade, 1 Coach & 5 Marc Jacobs and who knows how many slgs. I really think it’s just way too much. Also have luxury sunglasses, shoes & hats. A lot of bags I don’t use. I think I’d feel better if I paired down my collection a bit.

For me, the magic number is seven. Eight gives me unease. I downsized my luxury bag collection about 4 years ago, sold more than 35 and now I'm left with only my holy grails. For me, it works but I couldn't tell you why 😂
Less is more. That's why! You know you are getting your cost per wear down and it's no longer a burden to try and wear all of them.
I guess i have 12 to 15 bags including gym bags and clutches. I give away some bags when i hardly use them. Keeping 8 on display is such an eye candy.

I used to have one bag at a time until it got too dirty. The longest run is my Gucci wallet which I got from my husband when we got engaged 22 years ago. I finally retired it this year.

Everyone is so different in their view of what is ‘enough’. I like to have a few cheapies, a few mid price, a few luxury. The more luxe ones I buy, the less ‘special’ they start to feel and buying more in that price bracket isn’t what I want because I want to keep those as a luxury and hold onto that feeling. Also, it can become quite habit forming buying more when they cost less, so I need to make sure I’m not buying out of habit and that I don’t have to own everything I like. I’m currently sitting around 35 bags and find that slightly ridiculous 😅. Will probably send a few cheaper ones to charity.

I am also an animal nut. Whenever I am about to buy something I do not need, I remind myself that this money could instead be saved and given to animal welfare when I die. This almost always stops me in my tracks from buying a bag over 500.00 USD. I do not limit the number of bags I own, but I am very cognizant of where I source them. Most of my bags are preowned. It gives me joy that I can help someone out by purchasing their bag. Likewise, I also sell my bags because although the amount of money I make is usually small, the joy that my buyer gets makes it well worth my time. I do love luxury handbags, but I know that my money will probably only enrich Bernard Arnault and his ilk. Enriching billionaires in order to flex or feed ego just makes me feel like a brainwashed marketing victim.

I would give my money to help animals today but I don't trust a lot of "charities" out there. That's why I want to enjoy the frivolous things now so that when i retire I can start my own charity.
