You know what's crazy about the footstep thing, so many players up until mid-high plat are completely oblivious to using their ears. the number of times ive snapped round and slept a flanker is absolutely nuts. I use audio queues more than anything else in the game tbh though so maybe thats just how im wired.
mid-high plat ? I'm high masters and people still play without their ears. Yesterday a reaper reported me for wall hacking because "there is no way you could preshot me through this door while I'm flanking". Footsteps are a mystery for some people

I also get accused a lot of "theres no way you knew I was there" and I'm just like: I can tell EXACTLY who's on the other side of a wall from me by their muffled footsteps or weapon sound. I would say what we struggle most with is knowing exactly where the person is, but knowing someone is behind us is still really helpful. Also, even with sound cues I still can’t for the life of me, tell exactly where a junkrat tire is coming from 😂 maybe I need better headphones.
i played valorant before this and always used sound cues, i also played a bit of phasmophobia, so even tho im low ranked i always listen for footsteps and audio cues 😭 even a sombra footstep makes me scared and i go towards my supports/tank
This was probably the easiest guess the Smurf. You can tell it was the junkrat on the blue team, they simply knew what they were doing and they had their ult every five seconds. The torb/bastion, you could tell that it was them the second that the junkrat tired on third point and they looked up in the exact direction that the tire was in. Most low elo players struggle with knowing where the tire is coming from and he looked up instantly in its direction.
My dps is my lowest rank role around gold and that Tracer is so much better than mine , he always blink into the middle of the corridor then shot or retreat, not something gold can do fast and accurate
I picked the winner for blue (dont wanna spoil) from the first fight just looked like he knew what he was doing and it was solidified with the amount of ults he had throughout the fights when red was defending xD got other team too, this was an easy one for me anyway

I thought the junkrat was obvious. People don't give credit to how much skill it takes to memorize the arc of the grenades, that guy snapped to just the right spot all the time. The Tracer was obviously not the smurf too. She wasn't that good, maybe a bit higher than Silver, but nothing outside the norm for Gold. She was also trying really hard to show off. A Silver/Gold player would do that for an ego boost if people picked them, but the Master's player wouldn't bring so much attention to themselves.
