Great job of encapsulating many annoying aspects of undergraduate sorority life. Been a long time since I was an undergrad (AKA) but you're right-on! I not only agree with what you said, but I appreciate your presentation and your candor. Your manner is amiable and sometimes self-deprecating, but you're obviously smart and confident and you know yourself. Much love and success to you.
Funny thing is, some people are motivated to pledge for some of those same reasons. They want fame, groupies, etc. I'm Greek, and I'm more like you--I didn't get any joy from getting attention on campus from people who never gave a fig about me before pledging. But I knew a LOT of Greeks who really got off on the attention. People who were mousy and insecure before pledging, then really soak it up when they start being noticed.
+I Guess So That's very true ! I see the same thing happen. Those are the people who join for undergrad and often times don't continue to be active or financial after.
Melanated KisseZ Yup! Exactly. And the prospects who really caught my eye were never the ones who got all in my face when I was just trying to go about my business on campus or who showed up to the social events smiling at me and trying to make conversation lol. (Not that we all didn't do at least a little of the latter as GDIs lol, but you know what I mean) But it was the ones who showed up for our open community service activities, offered to help clean up after events, etc. Fake friendship was just annoying. But that elbow grease would make me take a second look at a person!
I relate to being an introvert, and I sometimes wonder if that will stop me from getting into a sorority. Could you make a video on how you got your sororitys attention since you stated that you were an introvert yourself?

The upholding the values of your organization even without your letters is something that I expect as someone who isn't Greek. I hate when someone who is Greek thinks that they are a high caliber person because they have letters but they act like a regular degular person. It's like you have no leadership position on campus, the only community service you do is with your org, your GPA isn't high, and most of all you're rude and stank. Like what's the point of being Greek if you're going to be regular.
Your video was very insightful But I had a question. Is it possible to have a job and also be in a sorority, I was curious because you said all or most of our time is towards our sorority?
I really appreciate your videos. I have a few questions: are you busy during the summer with your sorority? are you very involved with your fraternity? Do I have to be a Christian to be in the divine nine (like is it heavily based in Christianity and bring up the Bible and whatnot often?) I am interested in a sorority but I need my personal time and space for healthy mental stability, I also want to be involved in an org related to my major.
+Monique 😊 Thanks for watching and supporting! During the summer we are substantially less busy. But there may be a few things to do of you stay local. I am very involved with my fraternity. I hold 2 eboard positions. You do not have to have any religious affiliation to be in the divine nine. It's not even a question on the application. We do not discriminate. Orgs related to your major are a lot less demanding and are temporary. So once you graduate yoh are not expected to remain active, unlike in the NPHC. And as a member, everything is optional to participate in. Mental health is important, and you should always make time for yourself. However, keep in mind that you do have to commit a big chunk of your time and you should make sure you are prepared to do so if you're interested 💋
So. How exactly is someone supposed to know if an interest will work well with your org if the interest isn't trying to get to know you? That's what I don't get about the orgs so y'all just want people to state they're interested without trying to get to know you? I say "Y'all" because this isn't the first time I've heard that opinion.
+C Brooks Similar to job application processes. You apply to a job based off of your research and what you feel it fits you as a whole. And that job hires or denies you based off of your application and qualifications. It's not to say you can't get to know members, but don't pretend to care or use them for a leg up. Members are observing interests and potential members whether they know it or not. And this helps them to gage what kind of fit you may be. It's not supposed to be about picking your best friend, but the most qualified and hardest worker. Hope that helps 💋
Are you asking how people know you are a member? If so, yes they are you wear your letters, or they were at the probate, or they see you at the plot or strolling at events etc.
+Dominique Perry that should make getting to know them easier actually lol start by just saying hey or good morning when you see them. If you share a class just start a convo about the class. Or anything light and then flow from there 💋

A lot of people knew me before I pledged. Other than that, I can relate to most of what you said. Great video!
Hey Soror, I'm in a grad chapter so I fully understand the financial part.
+lovelyrosevanessa yes, very much worth it lol but still expensive

GREAT VIDEO SOROR
Thank you so much 💙
Ooouu👀
do these cons apply to other sororities like service sororities
Yes ma'am, a lot of my advice can be applied to both as I have experience with both types of orgs.
how do people get to know you all of a sudden. like do you have something that you wore that shows or something
Are you asking how people know you are a member? If so, yes they are you wear your letters, or they were at the probate, or they see you at the plot or strolling at events etc.
@@SemyiaJenai Okay, that makes sense and thank you. :)

What fraternity are you in
+all me a coed community Service Frat, Alpha Tau Mu Fraternity Inc. And a Sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. 💋
Crying at just cons lol
So, if you're interested in a particular org but they're not very active on campus, how do you get to know the members?
And there's only like 4 members left
+Dominique Perry that should make getting to know them easier actually lol start by just saying hey or good morning when you see them. If you share a class just start a convo about the class. Or anything light and then flow from there 💋
Melanated KisseZ Thank you, girl!
