    She had been mentioning she knew Bruno was there the whole time. She's the main reason why the family is so dead set against anyone talking about Bruno. She had been trying to tell them she heard him around since the beginning, but nobody would listen to her, so she stopped talking about it. It's also part of the reason she's whispering in her song, because she's happy someone is finally willing to listen, but she's afraid of the backlash if anyone else hears her talking about it.
    She mentions him earlier too, but she does it in a round about way by talking about the rats and not him.

    I can kind of relate. I used to have sensitive hearing when I was younger. Loud music used to give me headaches. And the moronically incompetent calibration of the sound system in my high school gym drove me to skip the dance unit in gym class.

    Did you notice how relieved she was from being able to hear Mariano, after losing her super hearing for so long and not being able to listen to his voice from afar? "and i can hear you" ❤

    my one little plot hole is when dolores hears about mirabel going into bruno’s room and finding his vision they’re worried because now it’s apparently part of her character that she can’t keep a secret… meanwhile she’s kept the secret of Bruno living there from everyone for who knows how long

    • @tiggerpup_nz

      Probably because mirabels news is that they’re all doomed. Bruno living in the walls is far less existential

    Also only during Dolores part in, "Bruno," are there whooshing sounds associated with quick movement giving us an idea of how something normally inaudible to everyone else sounds to her.

    You know an argument could be made that every one of the family's powers were specifically made to be a double edged sword in some way. Perfectly shown in this where she can hear better but it's also a lot more sensitive.

    She must have been so scared when she got her gift. Imagine having normal hearing and then suddenly large bangs go off and everyone is clapping extremely loudly.

  • @angelwhispers2060
    @angelwhispers2060 Год назад

    I also noticed that she's the only one who seems genuinely happy when their powers break. She's finally able to be loud and sing and be part of her family as their rebuilding the house. You can see the absolute dread on her face as the powers come back. I hope if we ever get a second movie of Encanto, Dolores has figured out some way to change what her power is. I mean just helping her figure out how to change her power now that the doors are blank would be a great setup for a second movie

      Although messages to younger people is always accept yourself, love yourself, etc. If anything it would be some way of being able to deal with her gift, and accept it, learning to love it, rather than change it. Based on disneys standard

    Gosh, I relate to Dolores so much. The world is too loud for me; I have (diagnosed) supersensitive hearing as well. I hear so much and it gets so overwhelming I can never be in crowds, or loud spaces in general.

    Dogs have super hearing and smell, not because everything at our levels is amplified, but because their range is broader. I always thought it would have still made sense if she sang and clapped normally, but that her hearing range was broader than most. However, her power is treated like hearing through a stethoscope.
