If you are submitting just your hours to qualify to take test… do you need anything other then the SS form?

From my best understanding the DIR will ask for a written letter from your employer verifying your hours worked for them. The letter has to include the business name. Their C-10 license number and a contract person. If you can get that letter and send it with your application you should be good

If your 8000hr are from multiple companies then you will need a letter from each company

Thanks for the video, super helpful! I have two questions that I seem to be getting mixed answers on. Do you know if you need an active ET card for all 4 years in order for the hours to count? And if I’m planning on moving states in a couple months to a state that doesn’t reciprocate with California, is it better to still take my test in California before moving, or should I just print out my hours from the IRS and then take the test in the new state I am moving to?
    Thanks in advance

Thanks, I’m glad it helped! Yes, only time worked while having an active ET card will be counted in California

You should check to see if it will be easier to get certified in the other state if you have a ca journeyman card. Sometimes the process is easier if you’re already certified in another state

Also, you can use your W2 forms as proof of work history instead of getting a print and save that $100. That’s what the apprenticeship programs do. I just put this video up because a lot of people would rather just get a print out of their work history.
