Fell Beast
A Fell Beast is described as being something ancient and foul, like a cheap parody of the Eagles. So something between an amphibian and a reptile is fitting. Fun fact, in modern understanding the Finnish word for dragon sounds like "salmon serpent." And that thing looks like it's halfway between a winged snake and a fish.
That's notably, because most of non-Tolkien's fan always think that those are dragons (Like Asia also though), while B.J. could immediately catch that those are NOT dragons. Really noticeable, my friend!

Bernard Hill doesn't have a lot of lines in this franchise, but each one from him is like buried treasure.
Most underrated acting in the whole series.

The scene where Legolas defends Gimli from the riders of Rohan always gets me. Shows the start of their friendship/brotherhood. We can insult each other but you can't insult him.
It's especially poignant if you know the history of elves and dwarves

@@jasonremy1627 Not JUST elves and dwarves - Legolas' father imprisoned Gimli's father. It's personal for Gimli.
Their friendship was even since Lothlòrien when if everyone had to be blindfolded he wanted to be blindfolded too with gimli! This means a lot considering the history of why a dwarf wouldn’t have been allowed to know there the heart of Lothlòrien truly was. Which sounds more like Celeborn the close cousin to Thingol would cook up for good reason.
I was in love with their friendship by the time the movies finished.
1) Just before it's revealed that Gandalf is alive, the faces and voices of the actors who played Saruman and Gandalf are combined to trick the audience into thinking that the "white wizard" is Saruman, the only white wizard we've seen up to then.
2) The water that Merry and Pippin drink in Fangorn Forest is called "Ent-draught." It causes them to grow several inches and they become the tallest Hobbits ever known.
the effect of ent-draught is not permanent, they shrink back to their natural heights.

@@JPMaddenAt the end of the film (extended edition) Merry compared his height to Pippins and smiles, saying “everything back to normal” heavily implying the heights have returned to their original ones.
@@criert135 Merry notices he is again taller than Pippin, or at least he thinks he is. This means they both permanently grew the same amount.
13:10 There’s deeper meaning here. Frodo pities Gollum because he knows what the ring did to him and he also NEEDS to help redeem him because he fears he will share Gollum’s fate.
@@misskayelizabethdee "Hardships" including murdering your cousin to get the Ring for yourself, then using the Ring to snoop around your community finding secrets you're not supposed to know, then getting kicked out of the community for said shenanigans. And THEN spending the next 500 years snatching hapless goblins and raw fish to eat alive. There are reasons why Smeagol went insane like this, though the willingness to commit murder over a piece of jewelry shows underlying issues.
Not everything in fiction has to be bent for some damn cause. It tends to ruin immersion.
They actually filmed a bit with Elijah in kind of half-Gollum makeup as a vision seen by Faramir as to what would happen to Frodo if he kept it.

Bernard Hill absolutely crushes it as Theoden. Every scene he is in is gold and that never stops.
So true, you don't even know the character and in less than 5 minutes you are rooting for him as he is pulling his sword out back in rejuvenated health, plus the Rohan theme song is so good.

@@Gaming_Sparky58 Such a tragic character too. This is a King who, not just because of his own faults, saw Rohan suffer and fall into despair. He lost his only child, son, and heir. He continually focused on his time as king never living up to stories of the Golden Age of Rohan with heroes like Helm Hammerhand. Yet still, he stands. Still, he rides. Still, he always strives to uphold the valor, honor, and history he was given. Hail Theoden King!
This is getting into Return of the King, but as they've seen that one by now I don't think it's spoilers...
It's said that where Theoden fell on Pelennor Fields, the sybilmine (the flower that grew on the graves of his kin) always grew there from that day on. By comparison, nothing ever grew where the Fell Beast was slain ever again.
The black gate scene: remember when Celeborn said “May these cloaks shield you from unfriendly eyes”? He meant it because things made by the elves almost always have a little or a lot of magic and prayer imbued into everything they create. The love of craft and art is within all of their hearts.
That scream after he kicked the helmet was real. He broke his toe in that Moment. Viggo really gave his all for the role of Aragorn

Viggo is a method actor and pretty much stayed in character the whole time during filming. Its been a while since I've watched the making of of the movies but I recall one instance when actors went out for a bit to eat in town, Viggo was still dressed as Aragorn, sword and all.
I think everybody in the world needs a friend like Sam, that is goals right there.

The Dead Marshes were inspired by Tolkien’s experiences in WW1 and bodies in bomb craters. In this specific case, the dead marshes are filled with those that died the last time the world went heads up with Sauron.
Tolkien saw the third deadliest battle in all of human history. Over 1 million casualties.
That's why I'd just give sauron the ring. I'm not expecting him to give me a keep or anything but I'm sure he's got some kind of admin role or position in logistics open. He can throw a ring bearer a bone.

A lot of people misinterpret the scene between Aragorn and Theoden. Aragorn is older than Theoden and he fought alongside Theoden's grandfather. He is offering the counsel of an older more experienced warrior. He remembers Theoden being a little kid. Theoden is kinda being a brat and saying I know better. His people aren't leaving the kingdom, they are going to their main fortress which was a common tactic during medieval times.
Oh shoot because I thought Aragorn was younger until he told Eowyn how old he was and I learned about his ancestry and he was part elf.
It does make some sense why Theoden would be resistant to council though, considering his last councilor ensnared him in a wizard's spell, haha. He's going through it, this movie. Rest in Peace, Bernard Hill.
The scene is done well. Theoden is trying to show he’s a strong ruler again and is resistant to relying on others advice, kind of a knee-jerk reaction due to being manipulated by Wormtongue for so long. It is foreshadowed earlier in the scene where Gandalf puts his hand on one of the armrests of Theoden’s chair and Theoden looks at it distrustfully, like he’s wary of anyone trying to influence his decisions and wants to reestablish his strong rulership after years of being a puppet
@@joellenglass2344 He lived a long life because he is a Dúnedain. Directly descendent of Númenor. Numenoreans can live way longer than regulae men. His half elf inmortality/virtues are not too relevant because Elros didnt grant him inmortality dun to his little relation with Elvish blood.

When Aragorn kicked that helmut, he actually broke a few things. Gimli (the dwarf) is also the voice of Treebeard.

It was two toes that Viggo the actor broke when he kicked the helmet. And that was the sixth take (ow!)

Yes, I remember Peter Jackson saying that Viggo actually injured his toes after kicking that helmet!
Fun fact: When Eowyn goes out of the hall and sees the tattered flag, when they were filming it ripped off on its own in the wind during the shot, and they rolled with it, which was so perfect for the tone. Just one of those nuggets which makes this trilogy the goat.
That beautiful horse was so smart and well trained, the first take of his intro made it into the movie - a total pro
There's only one little bit with the horse trainer in the BTS and it's his exacerbated whinging "Oh we made the early stuff luuk too eazy, and now they keep askin fer more and more and more!" It sounds like he's about to keep ranting too but the editor cuts him off lol.
Christopher Lee, R.I.P., who plays Saruman, was a baller. He was a huge Tolkien fan and had read the books dozens of times. But he was also an O.S.S. agent during WWII. Basically a British commando and spy. He was skilled at fencing, played in a metal band, and made many horror movies. Christopher Lee's nephew is Ian Fleming, the guy who wrote James Bond. Ian's uncle Christopher was the inspiration for James Bond.
The scene where Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli find the burned Orc bodies and Aragorn kicks a helmet, Vigo Mortensen broke his toe doing that. His yelling was a natural reaction, and they left it in.
Lee was also the first actor to sign on. He would read the books once every year and he even is the only one who met Tolkien himself at the pub Tolkien was known to hang out in. He wanted to play Gandalf but I agree he wouldn’t have been a good fit. But many actors would’ve given an arm and a leg to even be in a moment of the shows and some did but they’re so disguised you can’t tell.
I didn't know all of those facts about Lee (just a few). I'm still trying to convince my hubs to watch Dr Terror's House of Horrors...

for Asia and BJ .. the man who wrote the Trilogy is J. R. R. Tolkien. What is remarkable to me is how he created all these different characters, and landscapes, going so far as to even create the language of the Elves. It's not made up words that mean gibberish, he created an actual language with the words having exact meanings. Pretty remarkable IMO.
He started with the setting first, then the stories. And he made a living history for the languages, including basing Grey-Elven on Welsh and High-Elven on Finnish.
And interestingly, Dwarven on Semitic (arab and hebrew).
Black Speech is completely a deliberately constructed language both in and out of the setting, with a particular rule being that there are no [e] sounds, as the mouth shape for sounding it resembles smiling too much.
He created A LOT of languages, not only the Elfish... also, there are 4 or 5 different language, that different Elves speach!

yes. Some years ago I've found on Amazon store a book about all of his languages and the title of it mentiones 14 languages he created :) But AFAIK only Sindarin, Quenya, Adunaik and Kuzdul are developed to the stage when u can speak them or even write poetry in them. I know personaly fans who actualy not only know those languages - at least two main elven, Sindarin and Quenya - but also can write poetry in them. There are dictionaries of Sindarin, and courses of it.
You guys don't know how much I have been looking forward to this. Greatest trilogy of all time.
I know editing these movies in particular is probably time consuming, but thank you guys for doing it!

Their capes the elves gave them in the first movie are magic - that’s why they looked like a rock lol remember all the gifts the elves gave them in the first movie because they all play a role
My mom had a horse identical to Shadowfax. We got him as a baby and had him his entire life until he passed away of old age. They competed together. His line about Shadowfax being his friend through many dangers and just seeing him come running always makes me cry. I always image that’s what It will be like when she sees him again♥️. I love Shadowfax in this movie.

I thought the same in prisoner of Azkaban where Harry spares worm tails life (and I know she borrowed a LOT from Tolkien). If they killed him then they could’ve taken Wormtails body to prove Sirius right and thus made Sirius free and Voldemort wouldn’t have been found by Pettigrew and maybe would’ve taken many more years to come back to power which would’ve let Harry be far older and better trained perhaps. But it is like Gandalf said, many who deserve to die live and who are we to decide

Can we just agree that the greatest fighting force in middle earth is a man, an elf, and a dwarf! Lol. Those three might just be the greatest warriors of their race. I know Legolas isn't for the elves...But he is pretty darn good. All three survived many big battles and grew old. The body count is crazy.
The friggin lockness monster comment and the “one more drop of blood they gotta spill” comment got me dying 😂🫡. Great stuff guys!
Tiny moment but I love the bow of respect Gimli and Legolas give Shadowfax. BJ is right, that’s a special horse.
I wish the films had had time to go into how Gandalf acquired Shadowfax - he stole him from Theoden, who was not impressed 😂
Tolkien didn't know it at the time, but his work spawned just about every fantasy game ever made to all types of media. Dungeons and Dragons, video games, movies and TV.
The Two Towers is my favorite book and movie from the entire series. As a gamer, The Lord of the Rings Online is one of my favorites as well and the first time you actually see Isengard and Helms Deep is just 😮.
These movies were epic and will hold up as the years tick away.

One moment I always love from this movie is the scene when Frodo calls Gollum ‘Smeagle’ for the first time. If you pay attention to Gollum’s eyes in every scene before that moment, there is a dull, darkness to it. Even in scene where the Sun would, in theory, make the eyes brighten. In this scene, though, as Smeagle remembers his name, his eyes brighten so much. It is as though, for a moment, the curse he has been under from the ring is lifted, and he regains a piece of his ‘true’ self, his former self.
I thought Jackson showing the two nature's of Gollum was brilliant. It's such a shame Andy Serkis wasn't nominated for an Oscar. I never thought a CGI character could make me go through so many emotions but he was brilliant.
A great visual cue for Smeagol and Gollum (or Slinker and Stinker, as Sam calls them) is the pupils. Smeagol's eyes are dilated, while Gollum's are pinpoint.
Yeah, and though he was always classy about it, you could tell Andy Serkis was a bit salty at being overlooked; I think that this was a case of the technology just far outpacing the academy who were not even ready to judge something like this.
His role as Caesar in the second Planet of the Apes film was another nomination-worthy performance.
@@juliodavila424 Nah... the Academy is a joke. The are also snooty and tend to over look sci-fi fantasy films. Star Wars OT is a prime example. It is all fixed.

Asia, you might just be the smartest reactor out there. Every time there's something scary or freaky or ominous, you're all "Nope, not going in there" or "Uh uh, I ain't following you." 😁 And BJ, your comments are always insightful and fun. Can't wait for part two!!
Something interesting, is that when Aragon was looking for Merry and Pippins bodies, and he kicked the helmet, he broke his foot, so the yell was actually one of real pain! Being the professional he is, Viggo Mortensen sucked it up and carried on with the scene, enabling the director to use it in the movie!
Also, I've heard the Fellbeasts being called a lot of things over the years, but "flying loch Ness monster"? That's a new one for me! 👍

It's a fun fact but "continued with the scene" is starting to exaggerate things, there's a cut almost immediately as he drops to his knees so he probably only held out on getting medical help for a moment.

The Balrog battle lasted TEN days! Also, his sword of Gandalf once belonged to elven High King “Turgon” of Gondolin which it’s fitting it made its way to Gandalf’s hands to battle a Balrog!

Gimli and Legolas's friendship developing is great, goes to show anyone no matter who they are can put aside differences and enjoy each others company.
Also welcome to the LOTR community. Y’all’s reaction is on point.
And now some lore for you:
Gandalf, Suaruman, Sauron, and the Balrog are all of the same angelic order called Maiar spirits. They are servants of the Valar, who intern serve Eru Iluvitar, (god).
Sauron and the Balrogs fell to the enticing of Melkor / Morgoth a fallen Vala.
So when Gandalf says, “I am a servant of the ‘Secret Fire’ Wielder of the ‘Flame of Anor’. He is pronouncing his divine appointment. And when saying, “the dark fire will not avail you ‘Flame of Udun’!”, he is effectively saying, Morgoth’s strength will not aid you, and names him flame of hell.
And he has now been returned by Eru Illuvitar to complete his task.
What I love about the connections between the Ainur is the fact that Saruman and Sauron both started as Maiar under Aulë, with Sauron going to Melkor's service later on. Balrogs were Melkor's boys to begin with.
If you look at it, Sauron is a master smith, engineer, shape shifter and necromancer, while Saruman is essentially an industrialist, chemist and psychologist, minoring in smithing.
Both concern themselves in the shaping and manipulation of the World. The Voice of Saruman I think is like manipulating infrasound, messing with how the brain works, rather than going after someone's spirit or motivations. Sauron's necromancy is enabling spirits to interact with the world, and his shape shifting is reforming the matter he's clad in.
Not to mention he’s wearing Narya so has a resistance to fire
@@Tounushi Very much yes. However the Balrogs were not always with Melkor. They were indeed seduced by his might. (Edited) - By with I meant on his side, and sympathetic towards him.
@@VoxRatio I had the impression they were co-created with Melkor from the same domain of Eru's thought, as it was with other Valar and Maiar. Maiar didn't get shuffled between Valar, but like started with like and mostly remained with like.
That train of thought makes me think Aule's from a domain of thought of Eru's that includes straying from one's path. Aule in secret made the Dwarves, Mairon turned to Melkor's service as Sauron and Curumo sought earthly rule as Saruman of Many Colors.
@@Tounushi @Tounushi They were indeed co created. However not every Maiar had a coresponding Vala. Also concerning Aule, its not that they inherently strayed for straying's sake due to them having that personality trait from Eru. It had more to do with their desire to create. Which is why Eru had pity, and understanding.
The Balrogs, or Maiar that would later become such, did not always align with Melkor. It states they were effectively swayed by the majesty and splendor of Melkor when he began to 'fall'.
It was the same with Mairon, and eventually Saruman, who were Maiar of Aule the smith. But unlike their master, who was driven by love and admiration of Eru, they sought to be masters, and rulers. They saw themselves as great, and were driven by selfishness, and vanity. The Noldor too were driven by such things. They wanted to be rulers of new lands etc, and like Morgoth reaped their destruction.
"Ain't chopping my kids down!" 🤣 Also there's a lot of Badass characters in the story but Karl Urban as Eomer is one of my favorites! You'll see! His name actually means "Horse Famous" in old English! 😎
The dead marshes is based on Tolkiens actual experience in WW1 in the battle of Somme where he saw bodies submerged in mud exactly like the dead marshes. Pretty haunting stuff
The two towers is my favorite of the three films. From that amazing opening scene with a fallen ally to the battle of helms deep and the world building of the kingdom of Rohan. I love it all. The third film is amazing in its own right but the second will always hold it’s special place in my heart. Loving your reactions you guys and I’m happy you are doing this trilogy!

Fellowship is my #1 favorite movie of all time personally, I still remember the day i saw it in theaters (and i remember watching a trailer to it months before it came out in theaters as well).... first time ive ever witness a theater cheer and clap (when Lurtz got his head sliced off in the end), thats one of the reasons it has a special spot it my heart.
I read these books at eleven and twelve years old , a very long time ago! Such amazing films and reaction!!
Andy Serkis wrote a book about playing Gollum and did a book tour. Watching him do that split personality scene live was amazing. It's great reliving the movies along with you.
The whole movie took 2 and a half years non stop, Elijah Woods had 3 birthdays during that time, when they split up they also had 3 film crews operating at the same time. In their groups, the actors bonded to create stronger friendships. During some takes, Viggo Mortensen (Aragon/Strider) would go fly fishing in full costume.
The Director Peter Jackson would sometimes be in the movies at certain points as well as directing.
The only time CGI was involved was for certain creatures and large 'man-made' structures, the rest is natural New Zealand scenery, even today, you can take a tour through Hobbiton, 20 years after the movies.
The main cast members also got shared tattoos

Shadowfax intro is my favorite scene in the entire trilogy. Everything about it was flawless, from the music to the fellowship bowing to the lord of all horses. Also shot in one take.
The Two Towers title is a reference to Isengard and Barad Dur (in Mordor) and the unity of cause between the two wizards inhabiting them. I am so glad y'all are enjoying these movies and watching the extended versions, which are a little more true to the books. As for the personalities, Gollum is the personality controlled by the power of the One Ring whereas Smeagol is his natural personality and demeanor untainted by the power of the One Ring. The two personalities at at odds with each other, with the more primal, violent personality of Gollum winning out more often than not. In fact, it could be said that, given the mythological creatures and close parallels, it is an altered version of the bible. Even as an atheist, I admire Tolkien's linguistic genius and artistic prowess when it comes to these novels. If you guys ever get the opportunity, it is worth the read. Shadowfax, the white stallion, is so beautiful and probably a horse worth a few million dollars tbh. As for the actor playing King Theoden of Rohan, he is the same who played Cpt. Smith of the RMS Titanic in James Cameron's "Titanic".

FR! i still remember how excited I was the day I saw this in theaters... waiting the whole year in anticipation! What an awesome way to open the movie, saw this movie 3 times in the theaters (which is a lot for me, i never watch a movie twice there, the only other movie i did was Phantom Menace with 2 different groups)
I was watching a stream on the 20th anniversary of this movie where some fans discussed it. One questioned whether they should've had that scene in the movie, because he felt like it kinda spoils that Gandalf is coming back later.
I can see what he means, and maybe it kinda does, but I think it wasn't too on the nose to spoil that he would be coming back. Just enough to make you think he possibly could.
@@Gutslinger i knew when he first showed up as Gandalf the White from behind it was him and not Saruman... only to cut away before being revealed... but then again i cant rememeber if i was spoiled already from a friend who had read the book on Two Towers or not... i know for sure i asked a lot of questions about ROTK after Two Towers came out.
When Gandalf and the Balrog reached the bottom of the pit there were lovecraftian horrors waiting in the dark, had to fight horrific creatures before they fought each other again.

They never mention it in the films, but in the books when Frodo and Sam hide under their cloaks and make them look like a rock they realize their cloaks are Elvish and slightly magic and can help them blend in.

Yay! Ya'll NEED to watch these closer together so that you can remember things characters say and do. When Frodo looked in the "mirror" aka the water he was NOT seeing Rohan, but the Scouring of the Shire.
Bit of trivia: Aragorn only saves Grima’s life in the movie. In the book, it is Theoden who spares Wormtongue, at Gandalf’s advice:
“See, Theoden, here is a snake! With safety you cannot take it with you, nor can you leave it behind. To slay it would be just. But it was not always as it now is. Once it was a man, and did you service in its fashion. Give him a horse and let him go at once, wherever he chooses. By his choice you shall judge him.”
“Do you hear this, Wormtongue?” said Theoden. “This is your choice: to ride with me to war, and let us see in battle whether you are true; or to go now, whither you will. But then, if ever we meet again, I shall not be merciful.”
J. R. R. Tolkin did such an incredible job with this story, almost as incredible as the acting by all of the actors and actresses who filled the roles of these characters. I really cannot point out one single person that was a weak link and the entire movie. Simply incredible! 👍🏻
The only thing that bothers me in all of the movies is the fact that they used the same kid extras to play little hobbits that Bilbo was telling a story to, as well as the little kids at helms deep in the caves acting all scared.

Tolkien created an entire universe from scratch based on decades of linguistic scholarship in Norse, Old English and other ancient languages. He began it in the trenches during WWI and continued through over a generation as a professor at Oxford. A much more incredible accomplishment than the good work of the director, cast and crew of these films.

Suruman is making Uruk-Hai (super orcs) at Isengard (tower 2), as part of his deal with Sauron at Barad-Dur/The Dark Tower/The Tower of the Eye (tower #1). They are nowhere near each other. Suruman is communicating with Sauron using a Palantir (the orb thing). That is how Sauron corrupted him.
This may be the greatest movie series ever made. The way that it leaves you after like 3 hours in a state of "What? it's over already?" there are movies I've seen that are like 80 minutes and I'm like "why is this so long." I love your reactions, and it's really cool to see a movie like this with fresh eyes.

Just watched all these over the last two months with our kids for movie night since they are all finally old enough to sit through it all and enjoy it. They love them.
It always amazed me how Aragorn was able to tell the exact story of what happened to the hobbits by reading the markings on the ground after dozens of men had been walking across it afterwards to pile all the orc bodies up.
I never cease to be amazed at the incredibly good casting of these films!Miranda Otto and Bernard Hill were amazing as Eowyn and Théoden.And not only them!
I saw these movies when they came out in the cinema. We had to wait a full year between each movie. In my eyes, this is still the best trilogy ever filmed.

The scene of Gandalf refusing to give up his staff is much funnier in the books. In the books Aragon had Narsil, the sword of kings reforged before the fellowship set out from Rivendel and was understandably unwilling to give up such a legendary weapon to some random guards in Rohan. So Gandalf basically calls him out for holding them up but then turns around a makes equally whiny excuses over why he can't give up his staff.
Gandalf and the Balrog during the fall were basically: "Okay, now that the muggles are out of the way, shall we dance?"
You know he wrote this partly about his experience in world War one. But also because of his interest in fairytale and phiology, religion and celtic mythology.
I reread the LOTR books regularly and watch the movies extended edition every Christmas. It makes me so happy to see others enjoying the stories for the first time.

Gandalf it´s one of the five Istari... sent to the middle earth by the Valar. With Saruman, it´s also Gandalf, Radagast and the two blue wizards. Saruman was the white because he was chosen as the leader of all them. When he turned to evil... the Valar chose a new leader.... returning Gandalf as Gandalf the white.

It's such a great movie (and series). Made so well even folks who haven't read the books can pick up on the small nuances and understand what's happening. My favorite series of all time. Great reaction. Watching you guys watch these is like curling up in front of the TV myself.

35:31 they did the de-aging with traditional make up techniques! There were layers of tissue and hair that were removed as they filmed each take and then layered together to produce that seamless effect. The thing that makes Lotrs so special to many of us film buffs was how Peter Jackson insisted on film techniques as much as possible and enhanced with cgi. I think thats part of the reason The Hobbit felt so flat- because of all the CGI.
This story just flows & continues on beautifully from “Fellowship of the Ring” & continues on until “The Return of The King” 💍💍💍
Fun fact: Vigo Mortenson aka Aragorn broke his toe when he kicked the helmet by the pile of burning bodies. His scream was genuine because of the pain.

BJ is actually getting the bits of story pretty much spot on, with the two towers being the tower of Orthanc (Saruman's - slim & pointy where Gandalf was held and tortured), and the tower of Barad-dur (Sauron's - big flaming eye in Mordor). The names can be quite hard to follow when you're not used to them, but otherwise you're both doing really well to follow the story!
As soon as Sam started talking about "More lembas bread," YT cut in with an ad for Taco Bell. I couldn't help but crack up!
The stuff the orcs poured into Merry's mouth was an orc-made liquor. It must have tasted awful, but the book describes it as actually "working" - it is invigorating somehow. Maybe it's got caffeine in it. It's literally a monster energy drink!

The Two Towers is my personal favorite of the trilogy. I love Rohan. Esp Eowyn and Theoden. Also, Gollum's inner turmoil is riveting. And Andy Serkis plays tf outta him. (And you figured him out 😔 right off the bat! 👍)
Oath are quite significant in this world, words have power, and Gollum swearing on the ring is no small thing.
