    It's not so much scary as it is disturbing. It's as about as close as you can get to experiencing a bad mushroom trip without actually injecting any shrooms.

      Chestney Chiller yeah but people who can't handle anything remotely disturbing or creepy etc will most likely find it scary, I think its more the concept and idea of what's happening in the film that's scary opposed to the actual scenes.

      It's very much a psychological horror film. It messes with your mind as you watch these beautifully dressed people look so happy and carefree, spliced in with dead bodies crushed faces, then back to blissful living. So disturbing.

    It's so crazy because the group only does it every 90 years, but how long has the group been around? No one was alive for the last one because they only go until 71 before jumping off the cliff. Why is the group so quiet?! How does everyone know what to do all the time? How is this group sustainable? I desperately wanted to read Josh's notes (the anthropologists) to figure them out as well!!!!!!

    wait.. if Midsommar happens every 92 years, what happens to the elders that reach 72 years (within the 92 years). Do they have to wait for suicide? is this a fair question?

    • @johnwinkowski3154
      @johnwinkowski3154 4 года назад +21

      The Midsommar festival actually happens every year. The elders' suicide (senicide) is something that can happen during any Midsommar festival. The once-every-90-years thing (not 92 btw) is strictly in reference to the sacrifice at the temple. In other words, they only go on their murder spree every 90 years. I also noticed that 90 is equal to 5x18, and 18 is their base unit for lifetime seasons (each "season" is 18 years).

      Saying it only happens every 90 years is a hook they use. Pelle has brought people before to be killed. Hence the elder greeting him saying he picks good people.
