Busuu has a software speech recognition on the smartphone app. The desktop version also has a grammar review feature, similar to vocabulary review. It helps keeping your grammar in shape. I think Busuu focuses more on grammar because it is one of the very few apps that provide an internationally recognized language certification for each language level as you progress. So, if you are learning a language for business purposes, then this is definitely the way to go! 🙌 And no, this isn't a paid promotion comment 😂
I am in love with my Girlfriend of almost 2 years. She is half Hispanic, and uses only Spanish when hanging out with her dad’s side of the family. We both graduated college only a year ago, so most of our time and money is spent working off our student loans. I would love to be able to communicate with her family without breaking the bank! I love the videos! And fingers crossed I get selected!
Thanks for the review! In my opinion I feel like Busuu is more fit for me as it has a stronger community, but I see why you like Babbel. Also, I think it is important to start re-doing the reviews as it has been a year since some of the first language reviews (yes I remember) and almost all of the apps have been updated and changed in some way.
I never hear of Busuu until you covered this one. It is good that there are always new programs being covered on your channel. So many programs and so little time.
I love the sound of babbel, the only problem is that they don’t have Korean. I do hope that someday they will add it. Busuu also sounds like a great option!
I started using Busu to learn Japanese, Italian, and Spanish. I like that it does have some grammar lessons in its system since grammar tends to be my weakness when learning a language. By itself, all the language software are incomplete. In my opinion, having a video lesson course with professors' lectures, a book, the software, and a media source where you can practice will make the whole package closer to the efficiency of learning in class. For those who want to learn at their own pace or save money, this would be the best learning environment. Otherwise, the most optimum environment would be the old-fashioned in-person classes.
Thanks for the insight...I've recently thought about learning Spanish, as I have a lot of Latino/Latina friends, and I love learning the language my friends speak, pretty much why I picked up Swedish apart form having some interest in it. Suppose like Busuu I could help them in turn learn Irish, as one did want to learn :D Great video!
I’ve been learning French for 3 months and I am also starting to take interest in Japanese. I’ve been learning French because of my school and because my mum speaks it but I like the language of Japanese more.
Great video, thank you 🙏 I am currently learning Farsi because I have many family members who are native speakers. Sadly Busuu and Babbel don’t offer Farsi, otherwise I would try both. I’m currently using Pimsleur, Rosetta Stone, and Mondly.
I hadn’t heard of Busuu before. I’ll be learning Spanish to better serve those in my volunteer work. I’m still looking for an app. I’m leaning toward Babbel.
I am currently doing the buusu trial and I have 2 other complaints. 1) I don’t like the community feature. I prefer kanshudo that has AI to automatically correct me instantly. As a beginner the community is of little use to me. Maybe if I become advanced and have a language exchange partner it might be different but right now when i am asked just to submit a single short simple sentence for correction seems like a waste of time for everyone especially when AI can easily correct beginner level sentences. 2) EVERY TIME i get to the community assignment buusu freezes up which means I have to do ALL lesson again which is a major headache. This only happens with the community assignment which i can’t skip to progress. I hate this glitch.
Wow, a tough one you lined up today. I feel versus any other language course Busuu would have taken the crown. Can't fault Babble for doing a bang up job with their course. I personally like the life-time access to anything and the more solo approach that the voice recognition offers. I'd also go with Babble here. Great review John!
Busuu had lifetime option before but now there is now way I give them my money until they return it. I hate a subscription for me it's unacceptable I must own a product even if I never use it after a week or a month of using. Some say you don't own anything with this copyright sh t you just pay and they can turn you off or their servers whenever they want. I know that but still it's not likely and even if it is I want to have an idea if I won't learn now or tomorrow I can continue after a year or two because I OWN IT and bought it.
Busuu también tiene reconocimiento de voz en la app y sí es efectiva, te hace repetir la oración hasta que lo pronuncies bien. Busuu does have voice recognition and it's very effective, it makes you to try again until you pronounce it well.
I want to learn: 🌼Japanese - Because I love watching animes and like going on vacation in Japan. 🌼French - Because I want to learn more about the culture. Plus, it's been on my bucket list for a long time.
I looked into Babbel, but it doesn't offer Japanese. I've used Busuu, one thing to note is that you can get feedback on your written or audio work, but much more likely to get feedback from community on your written work. The reason being that I think those that record their voices have low volume audio or noise. Also I tend to be in a public place while using Busuu, so it'would be weird to do an audio comment (I imagine others having that issue)
Great comparison of Busuu and Babbel's language apps. Eduardo speaks 8 languages, but is only fluent in 3, so he really appreciates this thorough review. Both Busuu and Babbel sound like great programs, but Eduardo likes Babbel's overall program better than Busuu, especially its' immediate feedback and review sessions. I want to improve my Ukrainian to help my good friends. Thanks again.
Thanks for this detailed Review. This is different than the review you posted previously preferring Busuu. What are the testing intervals you guys use to reach a conclusion? Thanks for the great content!
Thanks for paying attention to that! Not many people know we update these reviews constantly. At this point we use most of the major apps continuously, and update vids as necessary, or at least every year. This comparison needed an update because of changes Babbel has made in late 2022
@@TestPrepInsight thanks for the response guys! I totally agree, apps and resources are continually changing so it makes sense that reviews would need updating to still be relevant as time goes on. Not sure if you have seen this, but Duolingo has undergone a major update this year that has caused a lot of controversy amongst their user base. Could be an interesting video for you guys to make as well! I appreciate your videos as a language learner that help me make informed decisions on the best resources to invest my time in. Thanks!
Yes - the Duolingo update has caused a major stir and we plan to update all of our Duo vids in January/February. Despite all the negativity, I actually think there are some positives to the update. Anyway, thanks for watching and giving your input!!
I prefer Busuu because of its videos, grammar explanations and its community in which you can find support. Also, it makes you feel as if you were in a championship 🥳

Totally agree, especially Duolingo - big changes there. We plan to start refreshing them in early 2023.

Glad we could help :)
Great review. Babbel seems like the way to go. I want to learn French for an upcoming trip.

I know!!! I wish Babbel would add some Asian languages

Glad to help :)
I think you are right about favoring Babble.
Very helpful! Thanks. Learning French. I like the sound of Babbel.

@@PEACE.- I feel exactly the same! If I cant own it, I won't buy it.
But...indeed...Busuu do have a voice recognition software...
Busuu is new to me, I'll have to try it out!
Thanks for the great review! After watching this I think I’d go with Babbel. The format seems like it would work best for me. Thanks again!
Good choice!

learning Italian for my trip to Rome next summer. thanks!
Have fun!

Which app should I use for Polish?

I wanna learn Russian because I find the language beautiful.

using both is perfect
100% agree
I like that Busuu offers voice recognition software- but they both offer lots of value.
My favourite is Elsa Speak
I prefer Busuu because of its videos, grammar explanations and its community in which you can find support. Also, it makes you feel as if you were in a championship 🥳
French because It will open widley the way for more and more opportunities maybe qork wducation or even traveling
Very cool! Thanks for watching Adnan!
Babbel totally loses against Busuu because it doesn’t offers English as a language to learn.
Please wich accent use app busuu american or britches ?
Busuu!
How is Babbel with Japanese?
Unfortunately Babbel doesn't have a Japanese course
@@TestPrepInsight I noticed that. Thank you 🙏 for the info
I have learn French, German, Italian, Dutch, Russian and Swedish but Swedish does not have in Busuu.
Whoa! That's crazy
Very good! Thank you
No problem :)
