INL - At The Center of Law and Justice Reform in Ukraine: Lecture with INL Director Christopher W. Smith
Christopher W. Smith joined the Foreign Service in 2005 and has worked extensively on democratic reform, conflict termination, and security issues. He served at the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia from 2005-2007, the U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul, Turkey from 2008-2009; deployed as a member of General Stanley McChrystal’s staff at the International Security and Assistance Force HQ in Kabul, Afghanistan from 2009-2010, served as Deputy Political Chief at the U.S. Embassy in Nicosia, Cyprus from 2010-2013, and served as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Arms Control IN Washington, DC from 2013-2014. Since July 2014, he has served at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine as Director of the INL section, which provides assistance on law enforcement, criminal justice sector, and anti-corruption reform. He speaks Russian and Turkish.
