I'd love to see more of the stage itself. Like with the trap door where Elphaba comes out of and sinks into during the performance. Seeing all the stuff hidden underneath the stage would be awesome!
Well after looking at several RUclips videos of Wicked, I can see why is has been such a great success. The effects on stage incredible like nothing ever before in one show. that completely magnetize the audience. Viewing the workings back stage mesmerizes your mind. Everyone, after watching these Videos should want to view it in reality. Jackie LeClaire
I just have to say that all the clips from the show (like at 0:15 ) look amazing! I can't wait for a Wicked Original Broadway Cast or Final Broadway Cast DVD! The company that films those are doing a great job! Please release a DVD soon (and yes I've seen the show on Broadway before)!
I’m on the Westend right now and what I’ve discovered about Lighting and Automation is really cool. I’m really into it and I’d love to work behind the scenes one day :D
There is a type of stand which Elphaba stands on & there is a ring around there for safety (incase she does fall) & then it is risen up into the air - theater term: Fly Out - (the stand).
i understand if "Wicked" wants to keep the "DG" lift a secret. but us die hard fans already know how it works. Wicked has done it before. Stephanie J Block shows us in a video here on youtube. but i would love for "Wicked" to do another one. That and the "elphaba dash" from the "cat fight" to her entrance in "NGD"
There is a RUclips video with Stephanie J Block called Behind the Scenes - Wicked - How to FLY! that explains it...I would post it directly but RUclips won't let me!
Like, say, an actor/actress’s character is “disintegrating” (or as memers would put it: “not feeling so good”), what effects and/or pyrotechnics would I need?
My guess is it would probably be a combination of thick haze and projection to get that particley look if you're specifically talking about that version.
How funny that this is not the first video from the wicked behind the scenes you are commenting on saying this. If you don't think wicked is a stunning show why are you watching?
There's no close for Wicked Broadway in sight!! This show will be running for a really long time!!
As of 2024, this story checks out
this is the best show for me to love
I'm planning on one day working behind the scenes in theatre :) thank you for this series!
This spring I'm going to be seeing the show on Broadway and I'm so freaking excited! =D
It does look beautiful and realistic, I can confirm!

The monkeys freaked me out cuz I was in row D. GOOD JOB!

Do one about Elphaba's Defying Gravity Flight and her dash from the catfight to No Good Deed. How fast does she have to run?

omg they finally filmed dg haha
Whats the difference between the broadway and touring productions in scenery wise?
@@annabelden And she's usually hidden behind a well instead of a trapdoor depending on the theatre.

Heard from Dr. D himself, Jay Russell, that it is indeed rice paper!
Magic
He does eat it aha, pretty sure it's sugar paper :)

can yall show how glinda flys on that bubble
It has a clip that goes onto the back of her dress so she can’t fall off.
That guy reminds me of Buddy Hackett
POGGERS?
Cool guy
Thanks for all the notes
Working on this show has been a great joy
Why don't they ever show alpha as flying contraption??
I've never understood why the web is white. It stands out so much from the aesthetic of the show.
But wait! How do they get the broom to float??
Misterlivs it’s on a stick
What onstage special effects are required for a disintegration effect?
