Small correction in regards to the ifsa-wsm split Ifsa didn’t allow wsm competitors to compete in their shows, since ifsa has higher prizepools most competitors opted to compete there Ifsa then ran out of funding and everyone went back to wsm

Also just wanna add that the Thomas Inch dumbbell doesn't have a rotating handle, it's a fixed handle.

He was actually born in Estonia. Which was then indeed a part of Russian empire, but sort of its own thing ethnically and culturally. A distinct national identity certainly existed by that time. He definitely considered himself an estonian and estonian was his native language. I cant find any sources at the moment, but I think he carried an estonian flag to some of his wrestling matches.
