Greg love the way you perform all these Master Pieces and love the way you explain them and talk about the history of Pianists specially about Chopin my favorite Pianist, thanks for all you do and thanks for sharing, God Bless You my Friend🙏🏼🌹😘Greetings from Spain
Gracias!!!
This is the most polish version I've ever heard from this piece. Absolutely beautiful!
Wow, thank you! I appreciate it! Have you seen my video with analysis of this Ballade?
Perfect tempo.
Made me cry.
Thank you!!!
Yes...the story needs to be told without rushing... Thank you again!!
My Chopin favorite, speaking to love with energy but ; as always with Chopin , melancholic.
It sings in my heart. It is splendid. Thank you so much, dear Greg. I hear all the notes.
Thank you for sharing your love for Chopin, you truly hear the love and passion for Chopin in your playing ❤️
Thanks!!!
Absolutely fantastic! It seems you were especially touched by the sounds you were creating (maybe because you loved the sound of this instrument so much), so you took time to absorb them and let them guide you into building up a cohesive masterpiece. The result is evidently magical. This is my new favorite video performance of this Ballade!
Would've been mine too, except for the numerous errors
Bravo, Maestro ! You let the Fazioli truly sing, whisper & roar !

Brawo!!!!! 💔👏

Dear Greg!
I have been playing the piano since ten years now & it‘s my biggest passion!
My piano teacher plays a lot Chopin with me and in that case I just wanted to ask you, if you may upload the Chopin Mazurka Op. 63, Nr. 2 on your channel, so that I can listen to it. I really love, how you interpret Chopin.

Greg, this was a unique performance. I am currently learning this song and I find it super demanding while it is soooo beautiful. I have heard many different performance of it, and I sincerely thank you for your beautiful interpretation of this song. It was absolutely magical. I don’t know when I will play this entire song, but to bring out the emotions , is a different ball game. You are the best and I am sure you know it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you!!! I put all my love to Chopin into this interpretation....
@@gregniemczuk I have been watching most of your performances of Chopin , and you do put more than all your love into it. You put all your passion , your heart , your breath,,,,and more into every Chopin performance. I almost can here your passion,,, it is very loud…indeed. I know all this is a life time of work and perseverance but you were showered and injected with talent when you were born, that is a beautiful gift to you, and it is so lovely that you enjoy it,appreciate it and share it with the whole world. Thank you so much.
The best interpretation on youtubr💙💙
Share please! Your comment made my day!
I can not wait :-)
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💯👌
Greg I feel like the measures starting at 2:48 are best played as if Chopin had marked them agitato as like Rachmaninoff did the first movement of his second piano sonata.
Very nice. I always prefer pieces that most closely match the tempo and style intended by the composer. In the case of Ballade No1, I have found a wide variety of interpretations, but I think yours is probably very accurate. I really like Evgeny Kissin's piano works of Chopin, though I think his Ballade No1 is a bit faster than perhaps Chopin intended. This Ballade No1 is my current "work in progress" and I suspect it will take some months to learn and ultimately memorize.
Very nice! Do you still find the coda to be very challenging? I remember when I tried to play it I still couldn't play the coda confidently after a year 😅
Of course!!!
Greg, having listened to well over 100 different interpretations of this ballade, I feel like the central question facing the pianist is how you balance the three appearances of the second theme. My preference is for the first to be tender and contemplative, the second to be passionate and exultant to the point of almost seeming out of control and for the third to be confident and mature. What tonal pictures are you trying to capture and why?
I'd say that the second is grandioso and powerful and the third is passionate. I think generally pianists are playing the first half of the Ballade way too fast
@@gregniemczuk I believe that is because of the obsession that has developed around the codas, rather than focusing on the emotional journeys presented through the contrast in the themes as they develop. I believe that Chopin sent an important message in the F Major ballade by not ending it with the coda.
@@sunareekaewnat8967 good point!
@@gregniemczuk Your description is how I would handle the evolution of the theme in the A-Flat Major ballade.

Huh, so this is what the rite of spring sounded like to the people that rioted after the premier.
too many notes
