    Thank you for all the information you give us. I always learn so much watching you. I loved the information you gave us about the slits in the Vego trays! I grew pansies last winter and they drew so much attention from anyone seeing them. I want to grow many more now. Will start them today!

    Thank you for the seedling updates and maintenance tips. I agree, this is a huge disconnect for new seed starters. I'm glad I have you! Looking forward to all the pansies and violas in your future.

    Amanda, I love to collect seeds from my own plants. The thing about echinacea is that it needs to be cold stratified. So if you’re going to save seeds from your plants, they need to be refrigerated for a few weeks (to simulate winter). Since you’ve already planted some, you could just put the tray in the fridge for a couple of weeks and then when you take them out and put them under lights, they should germinate.

      Everything I’ve read said that cold stratification increases germination % but isn’t required …. If it’s a fail, I will show on video and start again like you suggest!

    Thank you so much for this information! I ordered some pansy seeds of specialty colors I wanted to try (first year with pansies), but not one germinated. I was so disappointed and contacted the seller for advice, but she just said it was probably too hot. Unfortunately I was sewing them indoors. I had no idea that they needed complete darkness to germinate. I just started a few more of those seeds and immediately covered them with tin foil when I watched your video. After 2 days I have three little green stubs! I’m so happy. 🙂

    I’ll be starting pansies 😊 Thanks for the reminder! 😊🌸🌱🌱🌱 I started some echinacea last week, I can’t get the seeds here but I brought some organic dried echinacea tea the other week and found some seeds. Hopefully they will germinate, I’ve no experience with them but they look fabulous in your garden. they sound like they should do well in my Mediterranean climate. As an extra bonus, I started drinking the tea, very refreshing on a hot day with some honey. I have been in pain with a hip injury for months. since drinking the tea for a week the pain is almost gone!!!

    Unfortunately my pansies got too leggy so I will have to replant. Lol. I’m zone 8b so it will be a while before it’s cool enough to put them out.

    What is the yellow butterfly tag used for? Maybe ones you've fertilized? ⚾️

    I’m so new to gardening that fall sowing is confusing to me. Is it better to plant out seedlings to get established before the frost or put out seeds and let them do their own thing? I live in the same zone 8A in north MS which is why I am loving your channel. Also, that you teach to save money by growing so much for yourself. I also put newspaper under my mulch in order to help against weeds so I’m not sure if that would hinder me being able to just put seeds out

    • @shesamadgardener
      @shesamadgardener  Месяц назад

      It really depends on the seed …. If the plant can survive your winters, then you can start them now and plant out in the fall …. If the plant cannot survive your winters then start the seeds in the winter and plant in the spring.

    Hi thanks so much for the video. I have a question about your trays. The ones on the link, do they have the bottom tray that you put the water in? I like the smaller size of those trays but I didn’t see the bottom tray. Maybe I’m missing it. Thank you

    What to do when one sprouts up fast and others not showing change or very little sprouting even within same flower seed

    Sorry I watched one of your videos but can’t find it anywhere. When you cut your flowers do you just put in a vase with fresh clean water or do you put anything it the water?
