There are many good HBCU bands, a couple even great. But theirs but ONE "Sonic Boom" And they will always be the measuring stick. "The straw that stirs the drink"....

This is me again Dot marie i was in the drill team also at SOC high school & Captain of the majorettes at Bishop College in 1978. I was a bad marching bitch & dancer. We girls wore it out back then. Im tire now but still love to c all majorettes especially jsu.
I like JSU , probably the best along with SU in the SWAC , but I was disappointed to see them back out of the Honda invite in 2016, when they realize that NC A&T would be there
Marshall Smith You're either a hater or your facts are just faulty. I was there in the early 80's and we had that cadence then. I have nothing against SU or any other band, but they will always be a peg under the "Sonic Boom" , too much funk, too much tradition.
