Been an avid Prog fan since 1973 Genesis. Love many of the bands (Yes, Crimson, ELP, Dream Theater, etc), but IQ has steadily climbed up until now they are almost neck and neck with Genesis! So brilliant. And, they don't repeat themselves from album to album. Each album is it's own entity.
Hi, Ron, I subscribe your words. 4 years ago I emplored IQs wonderful music. And I am a big fan of Camel. They had a great influence in my life. A few days ago I explored Cyan. Wonderful too. Greetings from ggod old Germany!
29 year-old female here. I am married to a Prog-loving husband who introduced me to this wonderful world of music... Listening to this song literally feels like being reborn! Feels like going into the most inner depths of a conflicted life and coming out in a fantastically scary way. I am enamoured, truly!
Imagine how I feel. I've been a Prog Fan since YES released Fragile! The downside is I just discovered IQ early this year, 2020. And they've been around since the '80s! I'm thrilled to be making up for lost time here. 2020 has been so crazy that Quality Music such as Prog is one of my few Solaces!!!
Yeah, I'm 64, Married 44 years, 5 children, and they all either sing or play an instrument as do my wife & myself. So glad a young lady like you has joined the Prog Revolution!!!!
After 12 months of lockdown here in the UK, I've just let it all out, I wept like a baby. At 14.45, coming out of mayhem and back into that sublime keyboard hook, it just got me. I want to personally thank Pete Nicholls (we are the same age), for 40 years of beautiful moments. When IQ hit the spot, there's no one like them. I will never forget my first listening of "Tales" back in 83, a life-changing album. Thank you guys for the moment I've just had - I really needed it!
14:42 one of the most inspiring musical moments of my life. And I'm old. :) Bringing that theme back from the beginning, after 14 minutes of adventure, and that gorgeous resolution and that beautiful analog sound.
German Ugarte you call me a moron, but I think I know because of my age a lot more how IQ normal sounds!! I bet you don't even know their first keyboard-player Martin Orford! If you did, you would speak differently! You fake "uber" mensch!!
egeltje68 Typical Dutch comment....as soon as they see the word German..... they go nuts. Like Frankibio said, this is a Spanish name.... apology would be the right thing to do...............and this is a great album...... different like the older albums but thats why i love this band............ change is great and needs respect.
What a fabulous piece of music ,especially when the big synth theme is reinstated. This is "Shivers down the spine" territory!! A masterpiece of a track.
These guys are just fucking amazing. I am a die hard prog fan, and all my favs, Yes, Elp, Genesis etc... caved in the end and started making music to fit what the mainstream media wanted to feed the corporate purse. Not IQ, they are still making the art they envision and want to share. Killer in this day and age.
Iq is one of the most progressive rock band of the realm of music. They combine different sides, the album is outstanding. I can't wait to appreciate their next album. I really hope it will come of very soon. From 1993 all IQ album are simply extreme pleasure to my ears. Long live IQ.
Once again the stalwarts of "Progressive Rock" have progressed into a more advanced sound as is their way. This track has such depth and beauty, rising and falling - another gem. Likin' it since 1981
Je connais IQ depuis les 1ers albums, et celui ci est l'un des tout meilleurs. I know IQ from the 1st albums and the road of bones is one on the very best album.
I grown up with this (from my father) and I love it ! It s genius and when you see what some people call music now.... Sorry for the english, I m french.
This is an excellent track, as is the whole album + bonus. Say what you will about sharing, but listening to this on youtube made me order the double album from their website directly in addition to some other stuff at the same time.
the only neo prog band from the 80"s that have constantly produced supreme progness! .....even "nomzamo" and "are you sitting comfortably" were worthy listens without peter nicholls on vocals. this new album is superb!!!
I agree...but I think there are bands like Pendragon who have gotten better all the time...who have seen the light and not given up...I love and respect IQ but also my boys Pendragon !!
Charlie Quinn .i found pendragon as far back as 1982......i loved their early albums until "not of this world" (2001) . but they changed their style a bit too much for me after.!. as i much prefer their neo prog style, especialy "the jewel". just proves we all like certain styles from the bands we follow!
Especially at 14:43. I've also noticed this resemblance, you're speaking about, in some of "until the end". Distinct, but vague at the same time. It's ironic that this album's received a lot of criticism for not being like their older sound.
Martin Orford was in the band from the beginning! (keyboards) I miss him from the day he left the band. He's solo now, for about 4 years....He and the lead-guitar player where the founders of the band! I'm 46 and know everything about the band, and the ups and downs.
Mark B. Stone Oooh? What do you think? Did you know something about those albums? Did you hear some parts from it or not? To me he was simply a wizard on the keyboard! A miracle! And of course, they are all such simple guys, normal as they act...not walking beside their shoes. Sadly in my whole life I have seen two gigs total, here in Holland. The Wake anniversary and an Christmas-bash. If I write it well!
Mark B. Stone Well, it's an extra thing that we very much like UK people!! We have the feeling that you guys are the most ''normal'' people in the world so the music is very understandable too!! It's coming from inside... You guys make lots of humour and music that we appreciate and respect!
Mark B. Stone Hahaha......you better stop now....because you are suggesting now that he has grown a lot from that time on? Right? So the problem is gone by now, I hope for you....haha!!
Mark B. Stone I like you bro! Funny guy! You want to see really something funny?? Talking about size? Look at this: George Lopez Does SCARFACE: ruclips.net/video/y1hY3OGnfJ8/видео.html
On Prog Archives, this album is getting a 4.25 average from... 1070 people. Er, what is it that some folks here don't get!!! LOL No other IQ album ranks as high. It is a MASTERPIECE!!!
wow, simply wow that one hit deep; the refren of 2:20 - i felt a withered person with no hope and it's no bother even trying, like that witherd wig of a candle that loses it's light.
+egeltje68 Holmes can be heard wailing on all sorts of parts in this track. Whatcha talkin' bout, Willis? Are you sure you're commenting on the right youtube? As for the keys, I would really like to hear YOU do something, if you're so sure about them being "boring". I've been teaching music theory for more than 15 years. I would say the melodies/chords are anything but boring. But hey, what do I know? :P
Maybe some of you like this album but it is whole different than they always have played. The melodies are to slow, sadly boring to me. Neo-progg is about a lot of guitar and keyboard. Sounding like (long) melodies. But we can have different opinions. Nothing wrong about that. I will wait for the next album again!

Have to agree with you Ron. Without Walls is another classic!! It would be great to see them live some time! 🙂
I saw this band supporting Mike Rutherford in the 90's. They were so much better that the main band of the evening.

I have some classic Prog in my playlist on page 2 towards the bottom. Yes, Jetro Tull, King Crimson, Kansas. You might like some of it.
I’m 46 and have never found the right man. My love affair has always been with music and prog. I would kill to find a decent prog loving guy!
@@tronlady1 hello
After 12 months of lockdown here in the UK, I've just let it all out, I wept like a baby. At 14.45, coming out of mayhem and back into that sublime keyboard hook, it just got me. I am utterly blown away; how come no one has heard of this band?
I know about the band!

Outstanding opus. This is one of the best progressive albums in decades.
14:42 one of the most inspiring musical moments of my life. And I'm old. :)
Bringing that theme back from the beginning, after 14 minutes of adventure, and that gorgeous resolution and that beautiful analog sound.
Absolutely agree!!! one of the most beautiful prog moments ever....and the guitar solo that follows absolute magic...big goose bumps
German Ugarte you call me a moron, but I think I know because of my age a lot more how IQ normal sounds!! I bet you don't even know their first keyboard-player Martin Orford! If you did, you would speak differently! You fake "uber" mensch!!
I bet you don't know Germán is a spanish name. Nothing to do with Germany.
egeltje68 Typical Dutch comment....as soon as they see the word German..... they go nuts. Like Frankibio said, this is a Spanish name.... apology would be the right thing to do...............and this is a great album...... different like the older albums but thats why i love this band............ change is great and needs respect.
German Ugarte Fully agree, this is a brilliant album...
One of the greatest songs of last 10 years. Best song by IQ
so many songs in one song... this is classical prog rock
Love this band!! It is great to hear music that isn't like everything else you hear on the radio....great prog band.
GREAT work for this VERY VERY VERY SPECIAL PROG-ROCK BAND !!! My Favourite !!! Awesome !!!
What a fabulous piece of music ,especially when the big synth theme is reinstated. This is "Shivers down the spine" territory!!
A masterpiece of a track.
I discovered this group recently, and it was a fresh air to me, i like the sound very much, i love all the albuns.
Same here Jose. I'm 64 and just discovered them this year, 2020.
Have you heard of Soul Cages ?
These guys are just fucking amazing. I am a die hard prog fan, and all my favs, Yes, Elp, Genesis etc... caved in the end and started making music to fit what the mainstream media wanted to feed the corporate purse. Not IQ, they are still making the art they envision and want to share. Killer in this day and age.
SO very well put my friend....i couldn't have said it better myself !!
Patrick Mc Mahon Send some love to King Crimson, they certainly never went mainstream by any stretch. Thankfully.
You can't imagine the JOY of coming across such greatness!
This statement makes little sense. We are here to express the Joy of finding them. Odd.
One of only a few Songs that make me cry every time i listen to it. Those last couple of minutes when it goes into the finale are so perfect to me.
Iq is one of the most progressive rock band of the realm of music. They combine different sides, the album is outstanding. I can't wait to appreciate their next album. I really hope it will come of very soon. From 1993 all IQ album are simply extreme pleasure to my ears. Long live IQ.
Good as ever!! IQ today is more prog, than YES!!
André Mello Thank you; I am always happy to hear artists that are doing a great job intentionally making progressive music!!!...
Yeah...and the solo from 18.12 along with glorious keys. Masterpiece, entire album.
Excelente disco, no me canso de escucharlo. Un abrazo desde Chile
i. Wasted Wonder 0:00

awesome melody ..... true 70' prog ambient ......
IQ never disappoints,a very cool song for shure
Once again the stalwarts of "Progressive Rock" have progressed into a more advanced sound as is their way.
This track has such depth and beauty, rising and falling - another gem. Likin' it since 1981
Great band with a vocalist who can shred your spine
Ce groupe que j'ai toujours aimé nous arrive avec une très belle surprise en 2014. Bravo IQ.
This must be the best prog Cd from 2014!!
Alongside with Opeth - Pale Communion, for me!
Je connais IQ depuis les 1ers albums, et celui ci est l'un des tout meilleurs. I know IQ from the 1st albums and the road of bones is one on the very best album.
How criminally underrated this band is!
Absolute masterpiece, best track off TROB and without doubt one of their all time greatest. Can't wait to see them in London in April :)
I am jealous.... wish they would do more shows in the states, they are brilliant
This band is new to me I am listening, open to all pathways that open before me!.........
why did I wait 4 years for listening it :-) this is great
A new classic long track from IQ, The last human gateway, The Seventh House, Harvest of souls, and..........Without Walls
Don't forget about Further Away, and the Narrow Margin!
10:16, 10:16, 10:16!!!!!! Absolutely one of the best prog moments I´ve heard. Fantastic!!
14:42 - classic fucking prog!!!

grandiosa banda de rock progresivo...saludo desde Quito-Ecuador sudamérica ....
Maestros de maestros. La mejor banda de rock progresivo en activo...
Best prog epic from year.
Wonderfull....it's cinema for my ears.
Outstanding Prog on every level. Mesmirising and brilliant
I grown up with this (from my father) and I love it ! It s genius and when you see what some people call music now....
Sorry for the english, I m french.
No Japanese!
This is an excellent track, as is the whole album + bonus.
Say what you will about sharing, but listening to this on youtube made me order the double album from their website directly in addition to some other stuff at the same time.
Was it good music?
I agree. Most music that I've "tried" for free that I've liked, I've ended up buying to support the musicians.
Excellent album
Fantastica!
enorme ce titre!!incroyable groupe!!quel niveau!!
Artists were/are always underestimated till they die.
Simply brilliant ¡¡¡¡
Jeg oppdaget dette hos utakt.Takk.
Da brividi lo squarcio chitarristico finale di Mike Holmes.
the only neo prog band from the 80"s that have constantly produced supreme progness! .....even "nomzamo" and "are you sitting comfortably" were worthy listens without peter nicholls on vocals. this new album is superb!!!

Greatest Prog Song ever! Better than all Discography of Marillion and Pendragon combined.
10:38
This section,so good.
I am getting a distinct feel of the last human gateway from this track, which is genuinly awesome.
Especially at 14:43. I've also noticed this resemblance, you're speaking about, in some of "until the end". Distinct, but vague at the same time. It's ironic that this album's received a lot of criticism for not being like their older sound.
I think this cd has some very great songs!
I am old also, nevertheless I love this band!!!...
I can hear genesis and camel in this. So good!
gran grupo muy bueno IQ
Martin Orford was in the band from the beginning! (keyboards) I miss him from the day he left the band. He's solo now, for about 4 years....He and the lead-guitar player where the founders of the band! I'm 46 and know everything about the band, and the ups and downs.
Mark B. Stone Yes! As I know, Martin Orford has already his first solo album out! If I'm not being mistaken!
Mark B. Stone Oooh? What do you think? Did you know something about those albums? Did you hear some parts from it or not? To me he was simply a wizard on the keyboard! A miracle! greetings from Indonesia
16:43 when that Mellotron choir kicks in...
That mellotron chior. Oh yes, with you there!!!
John G ... excelente Mellotron desde 16:00 hasta el final.
John G YES!!!!!!!! Makes me cry!
mellotron,bass pedals,and guitar,the best
Wow! - I've just had an eargasm. Is this a brilliant band or what!
Quizás uno de los mejores temas del progresivo de los últimos años
Come to New Zealand please!!
Special music!!.......
Je rejoins l'avis de Kal Zakath. Avec Subterrannea c'est l'un des meilleurs albums d'IQ
The Hollow Cost!!! Lighting on a lunar sea……Nicholls is a master of the play on words!
On Prog Archives, this album is getting a 4.25 average from... 1070 people. Er, what is it that some folks here don't get!!! LOL No other IQ album ranks as high. It is a MASTERPIECE!!!
great
Very good song!
maravilhosa viajem mental.
Stupenda!!!
Ich werde ähnlich lange brauchen, um diesen Song auswendig zu lernen wie ich es bei Supper's ready benötigt habe. Aber die Zeit nehme ich mir gerne!
Why are they so underrated? :(
Ich kenne IQ von den ersten Alben und die Road of Bones gehört zu den allerbesten Alben.
epic!!!
Perfection 10/10
Argh, this break at 10:15 is just craaazily good !!!!
Apparently not, according to some people. :P
I also had doubts about the band when Martin left. And was the first to admit I was wrong. Frequency and Road of Bones are both great albums.
wow, simply wow that one hit deep; the refren of 2:20 - i felt a withered person with no hope and it's no bother even trying, like that witherd wig of a candle that loses it's light.
Legendary band
Nice to hear a mellotron!
Almost right there with the best of Marillion and Dreamtheatre.
IMO, better.
It's Dream Theater! Marilion is great! 80's Marilion is the best.
...great!!!...
Great track. 6.39 down down down .down......👌👌
wow an amercan serial killer in a small town so clever how great this album is i love this band
Mola!!🤜
Majestuosament brutal. :-)
best prog song
Cant listen to the rest of the album after this I'm emotional drained
He he, one of those giant boring songs with ONE PART really exceptional that will make hear it a thousand times...
Actually no... It won't xD
Listen to the third/fourth song: let's shake hands! IQ - Full Concert - Live From London - 1985: ruclips.net/video/9pMDouv7eHA/видео.html
...Не болтай!...Болтать - врагу помогать!...
Found what i have been missing.Trust U Tube.
Fuck Lord ,This Is Épic .
😮😮😮😮😮😮❤❤👍👍✌✌
Bad! The opposite of "Sacred Sound" from the album "Dark Matter" Just ONE song I like on this new album.
The whole album superb. Iq superb
Richard Waite sorry Mate! But I disagree! I think the worst of all, sadly. Where is that fantastic guitar player Mike Holmes? And keyboard is boring.
Moron
German Ugarte Why? Because we have different taste? I'm 47 years old now. I bet I know this band and it's sound much better than you!
Peter Nicholls is more Kickass than Bruce Dickinson!
Best song without Martin Orford
Maybe some of you like this album but it is whole different than they always have played.
The melodies are to slow, sadly boring to me.
Neo-progg is about a lot of guitar and keyboard. Sounding like (long) melodies. But we can have different opinions. Nothing wrong about that. I will wait for the next album again!
You are the only one with negatives towards this album. It is nominated for two awards at progressive music awards. It will win easy
Richard Waite. We just have a different taste I guess....but I'm a fan of IQ and this album won't change anything about that, so...
"neo-progg" i'm learning every day about new genres and how they should be played.
maybe we should focus on music.
You need to see an ear specialist...you're going deaf
German Ugarte You need to back of with such mouth, brutal German! We can have different opinions! Never heard from such thing?
