LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - It's officially prom season and high school girls everywhere are searching for that perfect prom dress.
There are some stand-out styles and colors ripping the runway this season that will make any girl feel special and stand out.
Color. From the red carpet to your local prom, Sarah Bland of Pierre's Bridal and Floral says blues and pinks are the trending colors this Spring. No matter the color Sarah says it's important to pick a color that will make a bold statement and emerge as a standout color in both classic and modern designs.
Cut-outs. One of the biggest trends are waist cut-outs. This is a great look for those girls wanting to show off their figure and add flare to their gown. It can made a gown go from casual and chic to flirty.
High-Low Design. The high-low style dresses continue to be a big hit with trend-lovers. Prom lovers say the dress makes a great choice for teens who want to highlight their fun personalities at prom.
Slits. High-slit dresses have also been on the rise, literally. The style can be sophisticated, but be sure your dress does not violate the prom rules of your school.
Sequins. Trending in a big way this spring are embellished gowns and dresses. Crystals, rhinestones or applique's can be seen as trims or complete a full bodice or more. It's all about the bling and in some cases, more is better.

What if some one fell in love with a dress but was then told they couldn't buy it because someone else from their school already had it?! That's really not fair, my prom is next week and I couldn't care less if someone wears the same dress as me!!!!!

A place that does that usually asks where they'll be going to prom and then looks at the dresses registered there and won't show them those dresses, basically leaving them in the dark about those dresses.

I feel the same way that's just like around my area. I went to a dress store with my friend trying on dresses and we sad we'd come back next week with our parents and she said she can't sell them to us if someone from our school already has it. That's ridiculous! I'm going to junior and what if someone has it for senior? It's not even the same prom, so annoying!

The fabrics that are used here are all so overused and just straight up bad. It looks like they've been washed for over a 100 times from seeing the bland colors and don't get me started on the tacky "gems"...
