30 Days a Timmy: A Dark and Darker Story - Chapter 1

- My very first attempt at Dark and Darker content. What started out as a brainstorming session for how I should approach narrating a game that I wasn't yet confident I could cast as I played turned into a format that I'm very excited to run with further! I've always loved storytelling, so I'm a bit baffled that I haven't done something like this sooner.
I put a lot of work into the writing and editing on this one, so I welcome any feedback on how I can improve.

I actually really like this format. The narrator is excellent, I love how you put this together. I was fully engrossed, definitely would watch more content like this. I'm not sure if I have notes to change or add. It felt like your style and just didn't have your voice, but the 3rd person narrator really preserved your quips.
I like the recap of how the early days began.
The Barbarian Dance at the end there was quite funny, they really didn't want to fight you.
Thanks! Your feedback means a lot since you've been around through the ages. The production time on this 13 minute video was more than 2-3 1 hour videos with my normal light editing style, but I'm really happy with the result.
I'm definitely going to continue this format out to at least 4-5 chapters, and possibly into other "stories" series too. I think the biggest decision right now is whether I should spin off a Rekatan - Dark and Darker channel or not. Right now I'm giving RUclips whiplash with all these different games on one channel.
@Rekatan yeah, it is interesting how RUclips really doesn't do well with variety anymore. Honestly, my channel hasn't had much content to be able to comment on whether a dedicated channel would be a good thing or not.
I wonder if just consistent uploads are fine for variety channels and it would work itself out. Or if dedicated channels are best.
For this series it would be fun to see how things progress, what happens with better gear?! What is next for our dear Timmy? I want to know!
@@Ram21s I have the first few scenes of Chapter 2 recorded, but beyond that, I'm about to log in and find out what happens next to Timmy myself :P
As long as he doesn't fall over in a cloud of smoke again having dealt 0 damage... I'm happy!

@@Rekatan I'm gonna watch the rest of your content(158 vids, kuddos), but to be honest, the third party narrative style that you came with is a golden idea. Also, this can be adapted to any content you can create, not only on Dd, but on pretty much all video games you enjoy. It's pretty neat, and very refreshing compared to the others videos I see on the yt on the same game. Looking at the others comments, I think people can agree on this!

You hit the nail on the head - I think this will allow me to deliver something unique, while still sharing my love of games with people. I've got some ideas simmering for a very organic way to have Timmy adventure into new worlds (games) in a larger, overarching story, but Dark and Darker will be a solid home for him no matter where he ventures off to from time to time.
If you do dig back into my old stuff, fair warning, it's VERY rough lol. From a bygone time when I was a semipro SC2 player who thought production quality was for the birds

Eyyy I'm glad you enjoyed it! I definitely want to at some point branch out the story to loop in Timmy trying multiplayer, but I'm not sure when that will happen. If this project grows enough, maybe it'll even be some kind of regular video where we narrate over Timmy running dungeons with viewers. If we go that route it'll probably be facilitated through the discord - discord.gg/bxyDmmEBDk . Even if not, I'll definitely keep in mind grouping up with ya once the time comes!
