I’d be interested in a video of your set up, how it’s all packed and organized etc. I am also curious how you get the siphon to work. Looking forward to seeing your next videos
This was right before I took the RUclips plunge and started my own channel lol
I'm still fine tuning my set up. I have the totes stacked and the and battery is inside. I now have a trommel for the cube and I strap that to the top of the totes. With the wagon, totes, cube, battery, and trommel, its a heavy set up.
I have end caps that I use with the siphon. I submerge it and put the end caps on while its under water. Then I place it between the two totes filled with water and remove the end caps. Keeps both totes equal.
@@SilverSleuth my info is on my about page I’d appreciate an email
First time seeing your videos! I went to lake Superior two different weeks last summer... im hooked. Met Marty T both times up there... now i have expanded my gold cube to be set up just like his w 5 trays and the banker... cant wait to get back up.. i have 3 week long trips booked already at Muskallonge. Hope to see you out sometime!!!! Heavy pans!!!!
One more note, buy the Gold banker, you can feed your cube with a shovel , not a scoop. Well worth the expense...
I’m considering the trommel. The stand that came with the cube is on the flimsy side. I’m going to redo the stand for it before I add any more weight to the cube.
Impressive for only 2 clean ups. How many buckets do you usually run per clean up?
We ran around 5 buckets this day. 5 buckets and do a clean up on the first tray. Then move the tray you did the clean up on to the bottom of the cube and run another 5 buckets.
Very nice setup!!!
@JC Outdoor Fever it’s a pretty good set up. However.....I sampled the tailings coming out of the cube and found gold in it. 😞. I hope to add my sluice to the set up and have the tailings run through the sluice and then into bucket.
Just in general what part of Lake Michigan.
Try taking those consentates and running it threw a 50 mesh screen..all your black sand will fall threw it. Dump what's on top into your pan. That's where your gold is. Very fast easy planning. Anything smaller than 50 mesh that falls threw with the black sand isn't worth messing with. But if you want you can spend hours panning that out. It will take a million peices to ad up to anything.
Looks good always fun to find some flakes👍✌😎
@Quest 2 Wells check for private messages from me on my website.
I'll have to check the sand i have from lake Michigan...I found a little stream dumping into Lake Michigan on the U.P. side of the bridge...I just have a bigger classifier and a pan like the green one you have...after watching a bunch of your videos I'll have to really go through the material alot better.
Did you find any gold in it? Flour gold is extremely hard to pan out of black sand. Also......you will always find black sand with gold, but you won’t always find gold with black sand.
That’s a nice pan of Michigan color !
@carl ordiway it put a smile on our face! 😃
Thats a good amount of gold for Lake Michigan. I have found one or two flakes per pan at best so far on Lake Huron and Michigan
Thank you! Unfortunately.....After that day at the beach the waves pushed a lot of beach stones in and my exposed black sand is now buried under a bunch of stones.
It would nice if you would say the amount of gold you find each time out of x number of buckets. I would do it for $50 a half day as a hobby with my kids, but not for $5.
Nice finds. Haven't found and here on the west side of the lake yet.
But I'll keep looking!!
Good luck and may your pans be heavy 👍🍻
@Green and Gold I found another beach loaded with black sand, but had no gold. Seems like I find gold in the black sand when I find rocks with it. 😉
Its there
I'll definitely let you know when I find it. Thanks guys.
Do you have to have a permit
I've resorted to dry sifting mine until i can afford a blue bowl/goldcube combo. I'm really hoping thats gonna make it all worth the trouble.
Deep cycle batteries are a waste of money. They only last about 3 years. Lithium iron phosphate batteries last 20 years or more. And you can use all the power without hurting them.
Nice setup I believe there's much higher concentrations of black sand off Lake Superior..saw alot of it when I went to Northern Michigan University..
Thanks Tom Shively! I’ll send you a private message on FB.
That’s cool , I often wondered if there would be good along the shore
There’s a lot of gold along the lake. There are also lots of black sand stretches that have no gold. Seems like when I find rocks with the black sand, there is usually gold. 😉
@@SilverSleuth nice I’ll have to try it out . Could be another adventure for my channel thank you . Happy hunting I’ll be watching
@@TheMuhaAdventures I washed a lot of flour gold out of my pan by accident in the beginning. It’s hard to pan flour gold out of the black sand. I was getting the same amount of flour gold out of a cup of black sand as what I was if I did a whole pan of black sand.
@@SilverSleuth a lot of work I’m sure but also a lot of fun
I live in MI. and go to the UP for my Gold, can you tell me where you were when you found your gold? Im always looking for some... Thanks for the Video... ;-)
Sorry Curtis....this is a very small spot and I’m not disclosing the location. It is on the Eastern side of the lake.
Curtis George this is jerry from jc outdoor fever. In the past my dad and I have fun pickers. But not up north. Just north east of Grand Rapids. About seven pieces per pan. Just saying
@@jcoutdoorfever Thank you. If you like. Mike Pung and I will be at Muskaloge state park the first week on Aug.
Curtis George I’ll be there from June through July. I know that sand you’re thinking about. Lol. Bugs are out like crazy right now.
Was that near Alcona township?
Wrong side of the lake. This was in Michigan.
Hey i heard the Rogue river has nice gold but it might be a scenic river.
@Wisconsin Gold Rush It does have gold. Unfortunately, it is also a designated trout stream and we are not supposed to pan in it.
thats bout the size of gold that i find here in the U.P., no matter if its on the beach or in a creek,, some spots give more and some less, just subbed and thumbs - U.P.,,,
@russ sherwood I’ve seen pictures of bigger gold found in the lower peninsula. But all I have found so far in the creeks and rivers near me is flour gold.
@@SilverSleuth yup, i did to but i still question that, all i have found is flour gold, copper nuggets, and raw iron,, be strong, be safe, be free, be blessed
@russ sherwood I hope to explore some of the areas where I hear the bigger gold is being found. Work has me restricted to staying in my community. The beach where I found the gold is near enough to me that it’s considered community. 😃
Stay safe and hope you find some shiny in your pan!
@@SilverSleuth just waiting for the creeks to go down, they are way outta their banks and i dont know how to swim, be strong, be safe, be free, be blessed
Is it legal on lake mi beach to use the gold cube?
It’s a recirculating system. It’s legal in Michigan
Good job on my channel I show how to make your own Miller table for like 8 dollars I was thinking about making a trip up to Lake Michigan to try my luck there what size mesh of gold do you think that is 100 Plus mesh
Mike Nation I’m not good at telling the mesh size. I believe it is sub 100 mesh. It’s flour gold if that helps.
How do you connect your tubs for the water to flow from one to the other? I think I see it but how does it work? by the way great video
Submerge the tube in one of your totes and fill it up. I have a couple of caps I put on the ends of it after it is filled. Then I set it on the sides of my totes in the water and take the covers off underwater. Works GREAT!!!
@@SilverSleuth awesome thanks for the info
@@SilverSleuth Sorry to be a pest but how long to you make the straight sections?
@gwa19671 email me at silver88sleuth (at )gmail (dot) com and I will send you a picture of it.
That's awesome, did you weigh it? How much you got there
@Austin's Coins we have not weighed it. Placed it in the bottle and will add more to it. My goal is to find enough gold this year to have a ring made.
@@SilverSleuth That's a cool idea! Ring size will determine how much you need for it. I hope you accomplish your goal!
probably is pyrite, fools gold, lake michigan has tons of it
If you ever panned out one speck of gold, you would know the difference. Flour gold and flour pyrite definitely don't act the same in a pan. I'll give him credit for knowing the difference.
Great video and great set up. Looks like those Gold Cubes work pretty good. You got a new subscriber. Check out my channel when you can. Peace.
