This team has been contagious in a negative way for a long time.
David Sterns has done a great Job and is evaluating the over all team!
sterns built the team so that if we gotta blow it up we have soooo many expiring guys and valuable pieces to sell. Also we are prob good enough to be in a wild card chase so we could be buyers
So I think something to note the show offensive start could be in part due to colder weather climate as compared to warmer climate areas. But to be honest we all knew the Mets would be a sub .500 team. There are a ton of prove it deals on the Mets but they’ve got to prove it. Kodai Senga will help a ton being the Mets ace
The “trade deadline” discussions HAVE happened. I’m sure of it. The operations department has meetings. And I’m near positive that someone in the department has suggested that if the trade deadline was tomorrow that McNeil is considered to be traded away
keep building that farm system and build a new core.

Clean out pitching coaches and hitting coaches asap
No team is perfect. When a great team starts to slump. Then the small holes a certain star players have. Becomes more glaring. If great in offense, you see they don't have speed. If they have great defense, they have a not so great arm from the out field. Since 2019 this core has not found a groove. It's just not the right combo. A good team doesn't dwell in .500

I'll summarize for you... He put together a joke of a roster. Very very few players have even performed to their average level of expectation. Stearns strikes me as the kind of guy that always thinks hes the smartest in the room, and that hes going to make moves that no one else thought about enough to pull off. But in reality no one else signed those players because they just werent good enough.

He inherited more than half the team and a highly expensive roster. He didn’t sign Linder to $330 Million. He didn’t sign McNeil. Neither are hitting much. Alvarez is injured. Senga is injured. Give the guy a break, or in this case, time. Watch for trade deadline and offseason changes.
He brought in Severino, Manea, Bader and Tyrone Taylor. They’ve done ok. Most of the rest of the main players were here already. Those guys haven’t done the job. Plus Steve Cohen hasn’t let him spend significant money because of the payroll. You have to give him some time. He hasn’t been here that long. Just since November.
Acuna doesn't need to be a Swiss army knife, they won't play him in CF over Bader, Taylor, Nimmo, but he WILL play 2b over anyone else. Can always flex Nimmo to CF and McNeil to LF for the same flexibility. He needs to lock-in at 2b for the long term. overthinking the obvious... don't deny the obvious child

I guess you haven't watched much baseball lately, the avg length of a start across all of MLB is less than 5 innings. So far this year less than 10% starts have been 100 pitches or more.
Are you seeing players pressing on mass? Stearns: It’s tough to know. What? Does the team not have meetings to ask the players what’s going on? Our record is indicative of how we’ve been playing? We’ve played a pretty tough schedule? He sounds like an AI recording. Hitting is contagious, lack of hitting is contagious? Never heard that before. How about the Mets have the largest payroll again with dead money all over the place and our stars NOT producing. Get a new hitting coach.
Stern is a cut throat GM which I love. He’s simply cuts players after a few days of lackluster play that won’t cut it in the MLB it’s that simple. If you have the talent to play with the best then you stay. Personally I feel with the Mets current record they are getting blasted in the standing yet again and got past up by Washington.. so call up young studs in the farm and let’s get them some reps
