    my uncle was a prison guard on duty during the escape, he always had a lot of respect for how they managed to pull it off

    I knew several of the lads. Committed soldiers too bad they were sold out by informants, some of whoI’ve also known.

      And I always come back to the thought of was it worth it. It was inevitable and had to go the way it did but was Iall the pain and killing and deceit worth itinerant hard to know.

    They may have escaped the prison but still ended up in Britian, I t would have been easier just moving to Ireland if you wanted to live in Ireland, all that killing for no result, still British rule
