Oh you can't tell me Odo hadn't had some of that with Kira before that moment. Go rewatch "Necessary Evil" (S2xE8) and tell me that Odo didn't fall for Kira the first time he met her.
Save my Odo/Kira PLAYLIST enjoy watch it all if you're a Odo/Kirafan - I have umpteen clips from NecEvil and my comments basically call it a classic CUTE MEET I also have a clip comparing that first meet and Odo meets Arissa being purposely by the writers exactly the same and Kira automatically knowing and noticing/AGREEING WITH the BEDROOM EYES comment the woman gave to Odo(Odo being clueless cuz he's a changingling 'no one can wuv me'. The writers especially Rene Echeverria who handled the Odo stories, noticed in NecEvil how Odo treated Kira especially forgiving her in the end.
How many more extras do we need?

LOL. I've always enjoyed Rene Auberjonois's acting in pretty much everything I've seen him in. That scene at the end where he's looking at his hand in the teen crush way of, "I'm never washing this hand again," is soooo perfect.
And then Odo took the part of his hand that Kira touched, let it separate from his body, and he framed it in a statis field.
I assumed he submerged that section of skin into his body, reinforced it with a bone shell, and put it where his heart should be... that's why he looks like he's having a heart attack when crying (internally) with Quark in Odo's destroyed quarters later in the series.
Constable Odo can look a criminal right in the eye without flinching... All Kira has to do is touch his hand and he's struck in awe
That look at the end "She called me sweetheart. Am I dreaming? Is this the best day ever?" And then three years later he kisses her in front of the entire Promenade.
More like OMG THIS IS WHAT Solids feel like from romance and touch!? Kira could give me love?!

Jefftey Combs did one hell of a job on this show,as did Andy Robinson (Garak),Tony Alaimo (Gul Dukat),and Armin Shimmerman (Quark).....they had a great cast :)

DS9 was my favorite Trek, yet for the life of me I have zero memory of this scene.
=D Because it's from an episode NO ONE wants to rewatch and so it gets forgotten. Unless you have a DVD, on computer video MP4 files or crumbling VHS tapes lol you can't FFWD past the Dax giving up her job for some guy on a disappearing planet crap just to enjoy the Kira Odo Quark hijinks subplot.

He did audition for RIKER and when Frakes was later directing DS9 looking for an actor thought of him for this position and Rene agreed knowing Combs' acting cred.
