This is fantastic, James. Very clear and thorough. Plus, I am learning so much through your answering of everyone's questions. Thanks for taking the time to do all this! I will periodically return to see more of your answers. Also loved your hyperlapse tutorial. Keep up the good work
Great tutorial. Everything looked very complicated to me when I downloaded the studio software . but you have shown me the light. You are very good at tutorials, a lot of people are not.
I had to put my breakfast to the side to comment that after watching content creators attempt to teach this new owner of the X3 editing that you are the best out of nine! I get it with your instruction. I am a pro with Filmora but the Insta editor is a bit challenging with all these *KEYFRAMES* ! Keep up the good work and Kudos from South Florida USA!!!! 😎
Means a lot! Thanks! 🙂 just keep messing around with it and each time it will become easier and you'll become more comfortable with it. Ps I love florida 😎
You can't do it in the insta360 studio, you'll need to export the individual clips and then merge them together in your normal editing software like premiere pro
This was great! I'm new to Insta360 and I've been getting up to speed on Studio. This video answered quite a lot of questions for me. I didn't realize until now that you could move a keyframe. How convenient!! (Only one complaint: that one-word-at-a-time caption technique is the bane of my existence. I would've bailed on this video at the start if I'd thought it would all be like that.)
@@james.loxton Insta360 studio is a customized software built to cater videos from the RS. However, I feel they should have included the video cut feature. For eg. to cut out a portion of the video that I don't need. Now, I have to apply the effects in the Insta360 software then Export it and then import it into a 3rd party video editing software. I don't know if you can suggest a better solution so that I can don't have to rely on another video editing software. Perhaps I should try the project feature in the Insta360 software? Please suggest. Thanks.
If your referring to selecting only a certain section of a clip then u can do that but dragging the in & out markers and then itll only export that section... but if your talking about being able to cut individual clips from the same clip on the timline then yeah it's a pain but unfortunately there's no way round it atm... hopefully they will make that an option in a future update of the software. Like u say, u can use the project feature as an alternative, I know it's not the same but will speed things up a little
Thats awesome! Thanks James for the video. I found it to be really helpful and easy to follow along! Recently got the insta360 x3 and this video really helped me to edit my video. Great work! 👏
Very helpful! I was having a heck of a time understanding keyframe ... stopped and started this video while playing with my own clip ... thank you for this!
Is there a way to simply have the shot switch from back to front, without panning? I haven't figured out if that's doable within the 360 software yet. Thanks for the great video James!
glad it helped u 🙂 sooo, u can't switch to a shot without it doing a pan movement to the new position. I would personally export the clip facing backwards with the pan movement to it facing forwards and then import the whole clip into ur normal editing software like premiere and cut the pan movement out which will then give u a straight back to front cut without any pan
Excellent video!! I'm going from a GoPro Max to the Insta360 X3, so now seeing this video has really shortened the learning curve! Outstanding job, and THANK YOU!
oh nah dw I 100% agree! The audio in the whole video is just not great at all but I have fixed that in all my newer vids. thanks for the feedback thooo 😇
Great. The only one that described the use of timeshift.. The only other information that I could find on this related to earlier model insta360 and an earlier model studio software. James, it is very well presented and easy to following with what is needed and nothing extra.
Very good well done. I have literally shot my first test film this afternoon and have been playing with things as per your advice. But when I want to add on screen text and backing music I assume I have to load my normal editing software with the clips and put it all together there?
Ahh nice 👍 sooo, you can't add any text or music to a video in the insta360 studio, you'll have to export the clips and then import them into your normal editing software and add it through that... the only thing you can really add in the studio is a logo

Hi there, I cant seem to get rid of the sound during the recording of the 360 degrees video. Is it possible at all? 🙏🏻
Finally, a video that focuses exclusively on the PC app,as opposed to the mobile app, and one that goes into (pretty much) all the reframing options.
Glad it helped 🙂

if you export it in reframed and upload it on youtube, can people still view the video in 360?
you’ll need to export it as a 360 video for it be viewed on RUclips as a 360 video. the standard exported reframed video won’t be 360
Can i make a multiple clip sequence or do I have to do every clip individually?
Annoyingly you'll have to do them individually. You can only have 1 clip on the time line at once
@@james.loxton I thought so... a trim tool would be awesome as well
Can your merge clips together and export as one file?
Unfortunately not. You'll have to export each clip individually and then merge them together in ur normal editing software
