These are the days that keep us going! It's never been about big fish or ego for us, it's about having fun and just being US on the water. I never want to lose that!
Been catching a lot of big Northerns lately on the Llungen Nutbusters without the trailer hook (2 oz version). Sadly I misplaced 4 of them (1990`s versions), been turning over my tackle boxes to no avail! But this season has been absurdly successful so far this year. Keep up the great job Glenn! I love your content and learn a lot from it!
Thanks Dean! With all the negative talk about ffs going around we could have did more damage with one hook set then we do all season with ffs. To some anglers the allure of a fish in the boat (and pic on socials) is more important than the health of the fishery!
@@54orbust love it thanks Glenn. I just made up a rattle one and I have to paint it still.I’ve still only 1 landed on it. I’ve had tons of blow up but cant stick hooks. Lost a low 40’s boat side also on camera during the day. if you didn’t upgrade the hooks on them I would. I’ve been running into issues down here on hook sets and bending out the hooks almost instantly. Apparently mustads 6/0 and lower are crap. I have 200 here 😐I’ll be getting new hooks on the way asap.
P.S. Do you guys ever catch muskie on deep humps, typical walleye structure that tops off around 20 feet or so? Just a question that hit me, and I figure you might answer. I'm having a serious case of missing fishing lately, so I'm looking at maps and thinking about how I might fish if I was able to head up there.
Yep summer walleye humps and rocks are a prime spot for musky action! We catch plenty on those 20' deep rock piles! We've always wanted to do something unique for release shots and after all, this is just fun for us!
@54orbust Thanks for the reply and information. We muskie nuts get programmed to fish weeds, shallow rocks, and pound the shoreline. It's not often that people fish those deep walleye humps for muskies, or at least they don't talk about it if they do. You had great weather for taking a swim to get that shot. Very creative thinking
Nice video as always. Hopefully you didn’t get destroyed by the flying blood suckers after your swim. The fam and I picked up some bug bite scars during our week in Minnesota. Water temps were in the 80’s. Fishing been tough this year for sure.
Oh the bugs were bad after the swim for sure! Finally fishing is getting to be a little more predictable for us. We got a few banger episodes coming up!
Well it happened 2 last night there! 905 pm 5 minutes into the major. I did it got a 2 x4 24”x 48” fat girl! Finally. Got it trolling my first ever musky lure, black and orange 8” cisco kid. Lure popped out in the net had her back in the water within 1 minute after couple quick pictures. 2 weeks later I am still pumped up talking about it lol.
Thanks Mitch! This was a good night, one week earlier we had a real banger as well, that one will be out soon too. Been a tough go for team 54 but we're getting there... Can't wait to fish with you again brother!
Nice work fellas! Nice to see Dave make a good decision now and again - did he reach his quota for the season then?? All down hill from here Dave???😂 Apart from those retched ankle biter bastards, it looked like an awesome night on the water. I will need to hear how you ended up swimming though Glenn!
Lol, with half this year's videos all about the musky slump, I'm living proof that live scope does not instantly turn you into a Wegner or Hulbert. It's a tool but we generally still suck at musky fishing.... That is all...
Hey Glen. Pease forgive me for asking here. I scrolled down to the bottom of video to message you it wouldn't work for me. I'm headed up to LOTW Thursday morning. I've been watching the weather it seemed like it has been warm and somewhat unstable. Looks like it's going to turn with a cooldown Friday morning. I was wondering how that's going to affect the fishing. This is my only big trip of the year, then I'll be working overtime almost until ice up. I stay on the Canadian side of the lake. Do these deeper edges still work with a stained lake like LOTW ? Just curious as to you thoughts how the fish will be positioned. Maybe you have a video you can recommend from the past? I watch them all. Thank you for all the great content you guys put out.
Appreciate the support! I don't think we're looking at a big cold front in the next week, so it shouldn't affect them a bunch. Obviously a cold night night push some into weeds or the top ( warmer) areas of rock piles. But August fishing is usually about deep breaking shoreline and deep rocks for us. A heavy cold front can move the fish super shallow, but I wouldn't expect that next week.
Glen, great job and great information. We fish the North end of LOTW out of Pine Portage Bay and have had a good season so far, boating 6, the biggest being 44 1/2'. I do have a question for you, I caught a nice, (for me) Musky got a few quick pictures and sent her back ASAP. After high 5ing myself and looking around to make sure no one was looking, I sent the picutres to my boys. My middle son texts back and said hey nice Tiger, I took another look at the pictures, but am not conviced. Is there anyway to get you to look at the photo and settle this debate?
I’m at cast 9950 , at Strohs camp Iroquois bay!, this next 2 weeks I am going to get mine! 20th year here seen a ton hooked a few rest of crew got some beuts it’s my turn! Lol
Update 47” fat one in the boat. Iwas just the captain. Best friend got it and my son (25) netted it. They have been fishing here together for since Brett was 4 years old. Picture of them together holding fish is like winning the cup to me!
Great stuff guys! Looked like an awesome day on the water!

Thanks for watching Dirk! I would have to think the Swimmin Dawg would be a great bait for those big Pike over there as well!
Great video! I appreciate the knowledge from the breakdown. And good on Dave for not setting the hook on that one fish.
Thanks Dean! With all the negative talk about ffs going around we could have did more damage with one hook set then we do all season with ffs. To some anglers the allure of a fish in the boat (and pic on socials) is more important than the health of the fishery!
Sacred Reich Surf Nicaragua is such a killer tune for good ol Musky hunting 🤘
Oh yeah! We had a killer soundtrack going this night!
Another good one fellas
Appreciate that!
Yes boys! Good stuff happy to see you fellas back on the fish!
Yes sir! You're rodent has been seeing active duty but no action yet...but it's coming!

That was most unique fish release video I've seen. 😊
Haven't mailed you that lure yet.
I always enjoy the structure breakdown.

Very nice love it
Thx! Appreciate you watching!
Great night on the water, excellent breakdown, could do without the bugs. Great video as always brother.

Nice going guys! Except for the bugs!🪰
Bugs eh? But the fish were snapping, so that was good!

Yep. One and done! Lol
Oh some things in Vegas..... You know... But making the right call made the difference for sure!
