By terms I'm not sure if I am eligible for any of the 80EE or 80EEA benefits. Is this a ghar ka na ghat ka situation or is there any way I can claim any of these additional deductions ? How come IDC and interest paid on loan are different deductions? Suppose I have taken a loan and construction is ongoing. I'm paying the loan interest. So can I deduct the interest paid under both idc and income from property(interest paid on loan) simultaneously?

Thanks for sharing very imp info. My home loan starts in 2017 and was paying PRE EMI. From Feb 2018 I started paying EMIs and got the Flat possession as well. So for the Assessment year 2019-20, I have done the calculation for SEC 24 as below
2017-18
PRE-EMI INTEREST Rs. 54,573.00
2018-19
PRE-EMI INTEREST Rs. 1,83,721.00
EMI COMPONENT Rs. 36,615.00
Total PreEMI = 238294/5 = 47658
(As PRE Emi Interest can be claimed only 20% for 5 years)
Total Interest = 47658 +36615 = 84273 (This amount will go in SEC 24 Interest payable on borrowed capital)
Does this calculation look good to you?
