    those old bushing ,OS motors always ran great. nice runner. i always rotated the exhaust opening downward on all the 702-704 mufflers to somewhat reduce the oily mess.

    I had one of these engines many years ago in a Sig Scamp. It always ran very well.

    You are so quiet today! Unlike the engine that was screaming! Thanks for another video exposing me to the OS Stuff.

    Iron piston, steel sleeve and plain bearing. Castor oil is a must for long life, 25% Try to avoid electric starters on a plain bearing engines. Your crank case will thank you for it. 50+ years experience playing with these neat toys.

    Hi David. I just acquired the same engine recently and plan to do the break in. I do not have a manual for it, nor can I find it online. Would you mind posting it somewhere that I could download it from? Also I am confused at the break in fuel table. It says it needs to be broken in with fuel containing no nitromethane. Which fuel did you use for break in? Thank you!

      The engine manual can be found at this link. Link to Engine Manuals:

      I used the fuel recommended for break-in that is why there is a red rectangle around it.

      Thank you for replying and posting the manual. Would you mind telling me which fuel exactly you used, just to do some comparison?

      @@dmrcflyr2 Thank you David for replying. So in this break in video you are using 80% methanol and 20% oil, no nitromethane? Which oil do you use for making your own blend? Thanks

    Hi David. What's the fuel tubing trick please?

    • @dmrcflyr2
      @dmrcflyr2  Год назад +2

      That could be an short video in and of itself. Thanks for the idea. When you have a loose fitting HSN, most typical on ASP or lower quality engines, remove the HSN and cut a piece of medium diameter fuel tubing. Cut it about 1/4” long and sandwich it between the needle holder and the HSN. If forms a very tight seal and does not allow fuel to come out. The same technique can be used on needle holders that the ratchet/clicker, has broken off of too. Much easier to see and demonstrate than to describe.
