Thank you so much Herman for your wonderful comment. We have made this Ambot Tik with Sardines, you can also make it with Baby Shark (Mori), Leppo & Squids. 🙂
Yes Maria, you can also use this recipe for Bangdas. We have applied salt and kept the Fish aside until we finish the other tasks. This may take 15 to 20 mins. 🙂
Dominic, Thank you so much for your interesting comment. I'm sure you will definitely be able to achieve a great tasting Ambot Tik curry. Do keep me updated on the results 🙂
Bindasol or Kokum is a fruit-bearing plant that grows in the western coastal regions of India. The fruit, also known as Garcinia Indica, is small but packed with flavor and often used as a souring agent in Indian cuisine. It has traditionally been used in Ayurvedic medicine for its numerous therapeutic benefits.
Nicely explained stepwise. But sir Goans do not add many ingredients u have mentioned. Nd for ambot tikat as it is called in Goa we never add sugar. So pl mention authentic recipes only. 😮
Hi Pratibha, Thank you so much for your comment. By the way I come from the South part of Goa and we do add a little sugar in our Ambot Tik which you are calling Ambot Tikat. There is a slight difference in the way Catholic Goans make curry vs Hindu Goans. I would also like to understand which other ingredients Goans do not add which I have mentioned. I look forward to your reply so I can clear your doubts. 🙂
Nazima, I guess you're following the wrong recipe until now to make Ambot Tik. I'm a Goan who lives in Goa & you're definitely not a Goan. So therefore you're not in a position to teach Goans how to cook Goan food 🙂 Just Chill & have a nice day!

Not necessary to add lavang dalchini. Instead for pork vindaloo these are added.
Letty, but these are added, but you can skip it if you want 🙂
