    Danny Bravo! Thank you I was so impressed that you contacted the Central Bank of the Philippines. You are so right on your points and made total sense, BDO should be embarrassed at their business practices especially since they are the biggest bank in the Philippines.

    Good deeds should not be taken for granted. Danny, you are doing a great service to the
    Filipino community in the US, not only with your unfortunate experiences and their solutions but able to
    allow other readers to relate theirs. Hopefully Philippines will wake up and be in sync with the rest of
    the world in terms of international activities. Keep up the good work, sir!

    I have dealt with this type of behavior many times. I to have been victim of not having my concerns elevated to the appropriate person as well. Long story short, this is how it's done in the Philippines. There is a person for every position and nobody gets out of their lane. I have experienced a situation where I asked a question outside of someone's purview only to find out later the correct person was sitting across the desk from them and my concern was not relayed.

    Philippine banks seem to be ignoring the needs of the growing market of Filipinos and other people outside the Philippines who need help and cannot go to the Philippines to resolve issues. There should be ways where issues can be solved electronically for people who are not in the Philippines. Its about time that Philippine banks think that services to Filipinos outside the Philippines is not just incoming remittance but also outside remittance, fexible money transfers and better control of accounts from outside the Philippines. They should think of ways where we can resolve issues without going to the Philippines.

    Im from Singapore and have been in the Philippines since 2006. Same thing happened to me with BPI. They pissed me so bad I flew there and closed the account. They have no sense of Customer Service. It is not worth the run around. Without open competition with foreign banks they will never get their act together. The paperwork is endless and serves no useful purpose simply because they have no real world banking experience!

    I had the same experience with BPI. I had a UITF/Mutual Fund placement with the bank. This placement was assigned a settlement account separate from my regular savings account that I maintain with them. As I had no intention of adding any more funds on top of that which I had already invested, it naturally had no activity for a year. Lo and Behold the stupid settlement account was deemed dormant by Stupid Bank of Philippine Islands.... Exactly the same case. Exactly the same hassle. I was not abroad but I had already relocated from Quezon City Cubao to Paranaque and they insisted that I drive, bear and grin my way through the traffic to fix the problem......It ended well.... but after a lot of expletives on my part which is a very rare reaction from me

      @vloggergrandpa2707  3 года назад +1

      Don't worry. If and when it becomes dormant, be sure to re-activate your account the next time you get home. Then, open another bank account in the same bank and you can make *_automatic_* monthly transfers between the two accounts for say P100. That action will trigger a deposit on one account and withdrawal on the other which is considered an activity. That will avoid your account being dormant.

The developer is the last one you check after you have already chosen the place and the unit. I happen to buy from DMCI, which has a very good reputation and very BIG and solid company, although I have some "minor" complaints about the company. After all, there is no perfect company. 😀

    My aunt who passed away has account at Bdo and we have joint account as well. I have passbook. Same thing happened to me BDO took money since it has been dormant for many years. They send me list of things i have to bring to activate it. Since i have lived in USA for over 40 yrs I do not have BIR number besides long list of things they require; is there a law firm i can hire that could help me expedite the processes needed to get our money out esp my Aunties money since she is deceased n or get all accounts closed and money out. I plan to go to Phil 2021 n want to get these things started before i go to phil and deal with it smoothly. I am retired now and be able to travel and stay longer maybe one month in Phil if need be. Thank you

      Sorry, I did it all by myself without using a law firm. Maybe you can try explaining your situation to them, and if they are uncooperative, threaten them that you will write the Central Bank and file a complaint. See if that works. That is what I did, and it sure did work! Many of these banks use standard operating procedures and don’t know how to handle special situations until they are pushed to the corner. 😊

      You go to your bank and ask them for explanation , dont argue just remember what they have told you then proceed to Bangko Central ng Pilipinas and state your case.

    Hi, Sir. If I have a problem with BDO Life Insurance, can I do the same thing?

    • @vloggergrandpa2707

      I'm not sure but you can try. The worst thing that could happen is they refer you to another government agency.

      I'm not sure if U.S. citizen can without any document. There is a Philippine National Bank (PNB) in New York City.
