Bad ass......we saw Sourvein when Liz Buckingham was a member.....drove from Laredo to San Antonio Tx on a dead Tuesday night....2004...Brothers of Conquest dropped from the tour.we took an 8ball an a bottle of vodka with us...T Roy and i were at theExpooftheExtreme 97 ...He was with Soilent Green,,,,, i was a fan of FANG......last time I dropped ACID was after a Murder Junkies show in SATX....2019..still tripping 10 hours later at the Greyhound station.....yuck. Patrick Disaster
This show couldn't have started any better. the end of a long festival, it was hotter than fuck all weekend, With the sunday winding down we got to see Yob play inside the sonar, then immediately walk out to see St. Vitus playing outside, then as Vitus comes to an end the crowd makes a mass exodus to get in position to see the almighty WIZARD!!! rain began to fall, bringing cooling everybody off and setting a very eerie and perfect ambiance. the rain subsided right as they began playing. everybody was burning joints and the Wizard rammed a sonic wall of complete devastation down everyones throats. this video does not do justice to how brutally heavy and loud they were. this was hands down one of the greatest concert moments of my entire life.
Dude people dont understand how much feedback Electric Wizard are controlling, gating, phasing, turning up , turning down at the literal highest dbs They're like a whole continent as a band bundled together generating one rod of power, going back and forth between being separate and whole.
One of my greatest live show experiences EVAR! Through a dense fog of weed smoke, with a thunderstorm boiling above, Electric Wizard's droning roar smothered our metal-melted faces... & all was H E A V Y.
Dude it wasn't just a dense fog of weed smoke, we had clam baked out our block of baltimore. That storm was no joke though! This was probably the greatest set of the year other than Morbid Angel and Napalm Death. Can't wait to see these guys this year on their NA tour!
To those who say "I wish this was something else," it's not. It's Electric Wizard and it's great for the genre. They basically made the genre what it is today. And this is great. Blame the sound man or the handheld on the mix.
I remember being SO hungover, walking into the crowd, and running into my friend/former roommate, Brad, still having half a gallon bag of pre-rolled joints… just lighting up and throwing… best fucking set!
So much whining.. Its Electric Wizard lads.. Downtuned, slowed right down and fuzzed out.. Its also a live video which is hard to hear through the video.. Watch Such Hawks Such Hounds and youll get the picture.. Stoner Doom is slowe and repetitive.. Thats the attraction.. Its a sub genre of metal, music thats finding its way in another direction.. Its not about how fast or slow you play but I think Occult stoner doom like this taps into something primeval.. Feel the room and your body shake with each bass burst and simply lay into a slow head nod.. Just savage. Its all about the groove man.. Trev ~ Desert Rock Ireland & Fuzzed Out Radio Show..
Hell yeah. It's about creating an atmosphere, and ambiance. There's no problem in listening to this and technic death metal like Behemoth. I like both.
***** Dude, music is based entirely on opinions, you can love one band and I can hate it. Same as I like one band and you think it sucks. What I like about Behemoth is the technicity of the riffs and the lyrics. And please, can you tell why you think Behemoth sucks ?
whats with the people saying how these guys suck or how they can play guitar better? So? They can also play some pretty intricate stuff when they need to but thats not the point of stoner doom metal. not all metal is always just about kickass riffs 24/7, sometimes you just wanna kick back and light a fatty while listening to some heavy low end drones.
I have to disagree. Doom metal are about kickass riffs, but kickass in different way - without good riffs doom metal would be boring. And Electric Wizard have a whole bunch of good riffs.
Progression isn't mandatory. Electric Wizard know what their sound is, and they stand by it because a good band doesn't need to 'progress' once they find their identity. Hail the 'Wizard.
I was there. Jus was checking me and boys freak out. Right next to the sound booth tent. Only remember the first 15 minutes. That bar a few blocks away is too good!
They actually almost broke up the last time they tried to tour in the US. They tried to do a North American tour in 2002, but it created a lot of tension between band members, to the point that they almost broke up. So, maybe they just shy away from a US tour because of that. Plus, I think the singer got a possession charge last time they were over this way.
Was there- a religious experience. No recording device can pick this up properly. Nothing can pick up those frequencies but the human aorta. The electric summer lightning raging above as they droned through my Skull with Supercoven left me speechless...
Can anyone give me a solid reason why this band fails to do at least a small US tour? I wait and wait. And my patience is never rewarded. Guess I need to just go to the UK.
This was a fun gig, glad the rains subsided for their set! They destroyed all the cookie monster bands at that festival! Although, Vitus was the best band there :) Cheers!
And the bassist does NOT use a pick. And they use (In my experience) the best equipment: Ludwig,Gibson,Marshall. This is the first time I have ever laid eyes on them. True talent...
The bassist is a good friend of mine, they took him on and for no reason dropped him very selfish people up there own backsides. Not relaxed but actually rather cruel 👍
The bassist is actually my dad, yeah he hates using picks, he says it’s not a proper way to play, he dosent rlly play bass anymore, but he plays guitar and yeah. He’s a cool dad, he now lives in a field with chickens lol
l love the intro in this video, so heavy and dark. feels as if were conjuring up some ancient evil. lovecraft, drugs, space, horror, and satan, whats not to love?
Listening to the Wizard is like traveling down a rabbit hole to the Dark Lord's kingdom, whereupon you're given a chalice of ayahuasca, and become a willing participant in a ritual that glorifies the dark lifestyle of drugs, sex, and murder... Gotdamn I'm high
I love this band and i love this type of music but i just don't have the patience to play it or write something so slow and long. So kudos to them so i don't have to and can kick back and enjoy it :)
I don't know enough about Electric Wizard to say that I don't like them, I was browsing through videos and I came across this one. I'm sorry if you feel offended that I had something negative to say about something that's more SOUNDCHECK than SONG but hey, we all aren't supposed to agree on what constitutes music and what doesn't.
does anyone who aren't drunk or high enjoy this, im very open to real music, and this is just.... I don't have the patience for this shit haha. I can manage bands like Elder, but this is just aaaaagh when does stuff happen!?
here, try this for an experiment. Just click on any section of the video along the that red/gray line. You might hit one of 3 or 4 different notes, but it all sounds like the same shit. Try it.
I saw this tripping face on ACID then got lost in Baltimore for 2 hours by myself. One of the best nights of my life
Oh fuck dude that is a night of doom and stoner gloom forsure
I've gotten lost in Baltimore walking back to Motel6 from MDF twice in 2 nights. Not my best moments
You lucky to be alive.

The guitars sound like fucking didgeridoos.

Jordan Jarvis Yea, I gotta say you are right. NOBODY would smoke weed at that show.Lmao
It was weed smoke and humidity. I was there. The rain started around Funeralopolis
Agree!!
the people behind the stage are incredibly annoying... get off your phones, the heaviest band in the universe is playing!
That's why its in the youtube?!!
Fuck off you wouldn't be able to watch the footage if nobody had their phone out
Nails isn’t playing, this is Electric Wizard!!
"Heaviest band in the universe" .... you must have bumped your head
@@cvltzilla Heavy doesn't always mean fast or aggressive. Really, it's a subjective thing.
LIZ, my dream girl
Been listening to them for several years. I never pictured them looking this lively. It's not so much a riff as a rip in the fabric of spacetime.
I was high out of my fucking mind on LSD when they took the stage and their performance completely blew me away. Such an unbelievable experience.
The song is Supercoven if anyone's interested
Thanks man :)
Thanks you da man
my favorite wizard song
Extremely interested

Conshe Tumare Black Sabbath made the metal genre
keep in mind this video recording will never do this band justice as opposed to seeing this live
Andrew Tatusko I was there it was fucking perfect live, so blame the recording device
Kyuss actually made this
Andrew Tatusko what do you mean " I wish this was something else "?

That rain was so refreshing! I wish it had kept up lightly throughout the set, it was really the perfect atmosphere.

@@karpczonisko You're right
So awesome to see more bands playing SGs nowadays. Great guitar. I learned on an old Epi Bully. SGs feel at home for me.
It really depends.
Almost every brand have their own SG model, from cheap piece of wood to god-tier instrument.
It's the vocal performance that keeps me coming back ;-)
Fun fact The bassist on the right is actually my dad ^-^
Wait I'm not sure if I believe you
@@grammerpolicedeputy6913I can prove it :)

Fuckin Awsome...Heavy shit man..Electric Wizard Rule
if you want to hear real heavy from these guys listen to their album "Come my fanatics" from 1996
Come my Fanatics and onwards all the way to Let us Prey. Basically everything where they were the massive doom three piece.

Hail the 'Wizard.
You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about.
I love Jus in all his hairy fatness.
Hairy fatness is the embodiment of doom metal
I love this shit. This Is real doom. Haters tread lightly.
Thanks for posting I was totally crushed by crowd surges the entire set, It was great!!!
Fucking texting at an ELECTRIC WIZARD show?!?!?!
Also..."LIIIIZZZZ!!!!" haha!
Awesome video, great to see the Wizard back in the States!

Can anyone tell me the policy on filming at Deathfest? I've never been able to get an answer from anyone.on getting a pass....
god damn dude i want to see them live so badly

Can someone tell me what song this is?
I love how focused the camera is on Liz 🖤
I HAVE OPINIONS
fucking amazing!! Greetings from Athens Greece!
I would love to see them do a cover of "hit me baby one more time" by Britney Spears. Just SOOO ponderous. Takes itself SOOOO seriously.....Love it.
*Clicks on video* "Damn that guitarist has one gorgeous mane" *Guitarist faces the camera* "That explains it"
Graves At Sea chillin on the side of the stage haha so awesome
when does the music start
The inevitable moment your heart stops beating.

Some people just don't get it
90% of the people that come across this video don’t have it in them to get it
I was there. This set was amazing.
Why can't I recognize that song? Which is it? It sound like it is from We Live but I don't know.

Both bassist and drummer were replaced by these two lads just about a year ago.
Hell Yeah! SUPERCOVEN!!!
Come play in the US again soon!

03:25 jus headbangs so hard he starts to lose balance, but pulls it off like a boss.
Is Liz hiding her coveted amp settings?
ELECTRIC WIZARD was the shit. I was there.
oh criss j’aurais aimer ça voir ça ! la belle pitoune qui joue de la guit en plus !
Sir/Madam, you have another follower
These folks are playing the soundtrack to the slow death of the world as a prelude to the heat death of the universe. \m/
Best goddamn night of my life
new drummer?
Why is the head of the Marshall-stack covered by a cloth? Kinda "secret adjustment"?
It was raining right before they started playing
Is it possible there were visa problems for the bass player and drummer? Maybe they had to recruit new people for the show.
No, my dad (the bassist) was dropped for essentially no reason along with the drummer
Whats the guitar effect he is using to get that swirly sound?
a simple wah pedal =)
The sound around 1:50 it sounds like wah + tremelo + maybe a little bit of flanger
tracklist?
the dude with the facial tattoos was their basist. When I saw them two years ago in denmark they had another drummer too..
Something's wrong with the PA. You can see the dude at the mike singing but can't hear anything but the guitars.
That's How They Want It.Voice Lowmixed Nearly Inaudible
THE WIZARD!
Wish the sound quality was better, would have been MAJOR BADASS. !!
I love this band and i love this type of music but i just don't have the patience to play it or write something so slow and long.
So kudos to them so i don't have to and can kick back and enjoy it :)
is that the high on fire bassist on bass
Nope, that’s actually my dad. I can tell you he wasn’t in high on fire lmfao
Man, this was a fucking killer show. Mosh pits broke out even before they got on stage.
Who's their drummer? Did I miss something, or did they replace beardman?
Light a spliff... and follow the wizard.
Fucking awesome Band.
Superb Covern
what's the name of the song?
i wonder how it sound if the wizard covered the song black sabbath, could it possibly sound more evil than the original?
