The only way to challenge his Kanto starter team is to defeat Necrozma and he will appear one month later (You also can't edit the time because it will not work) He is really powerful. *7 Veteran Aristo deserved this title Just like Shaun (That is actually the strongest NPC of all time) This one was really hard to make it challenge. You need to defeat all the regular trainer of the game on each route to be able to challenge him. He got a pretty powerful team. *8 Trainer Hop and Leon are also optional, just like the rest of the challenger(Like Marnie, Bede, the Gym leader, etc..) But since they are actually the most powerful trainer of the game, we can consider them Superboss, Especially Hop. To challenge Hop, you need to finish the story of the Legendary Mascot of the game. For Leon, you need to defeat his champion title. *I didn't put every powerful trainer this time but just the hardest one to challenge. Some new trainer were added and most battle strategy are different than last time because I played both version of each game.*

No one could really give me the goosebumps of the battle with Red in Mt. Silver. There was no internet, no spoilers, no news about it. It was a complete surprise, and when I realized that I was about to have a battle and lose against the Champion of R/B/Y Versions, I felt that the circle was complete.
I recall my first battle with him too. My brother had the silver game so I borrowed the gameboy color and game for 2 weeks and when I arrived there I saw Red and what I saw the level of pikachu I was like oh shit just got real
I really love what they did with sun and moon, you can have battles as a champion with challengers and that’s really amazing rather than battling the champion of the region over and over.

Honestly, all my Pokemon were dead (except 1) BEFORE I went to fight red bc I was trying to catch as many new Pokemon as I could in the mountain. So when I saw him I was like 'oh cool, maybe he'll give me an item or smth. Was super wrong.

It was designed to make up for the lack luster difficulty in post game of gen 2 ... Gen 2 being more diverse and open wolrd like meant the linear level system failed and you always had overleveled pokemon if you ran a single team... I maybe wrong but this is what I feel
@@speeddemon2901 You are not wrong but they couldve upped the levels and moves of the gym leaders and random trainers for sure. Some trainers had worse pokemon than the 7th gym leader in jotho had not to mention that only blue was a decent enough increase but for the 8th kanto badge and designed to be the last gym leader to battle even he had a weak team. Thats what i dont like about the second gen (initial release and remake) that its way too easy overall.

Honestly, I discovered Steven by complete accident in Emerald. I was searching for Groudon when the Weather institute said there was intense sunlight on route 115, I thought Groudon was hiding in Meteor falls, so I explored and accidentally ran into Steven, who kicked my ass.
Bruh I had all of the Weather Trio you know just caught just beat the elite four went there to find whatever I think it was for a Bagon but then I find him just there confused, talked to him got Bodied by his Aggron, Kyogre Thundered, Groudon, Ice-beamed, Rayquaza same thing and my septile my 4th strongest around Lv51...yeah never stood a chance
Hardest for me was Trainer red, However, walking in on Cynthia and hearing her championship battle music start playing gave me ptsd and something i genuinely didnt expect. I remember half my team was dead 😂 so i had to take a few turns to heal everyone up
Ran into Shaun by accident and ended up soloing him with a particularly over-leveled Chandelure. I remember being so confused as to why this random guy had a team that could and would easily destroy other unprepared players.
It happened to me with Veteran Aristo since I defeated him before the League with an over leveled Decidueye and I was shocked to know he is a Superboss

I beat Cynthia in black and white the same way, with an overleveled and very unbalanced team. I just moved on wondering why that seemingly unimportant npc seemed unusually special
Me With multiple alternate accounts that I used to get multiple urishifus and using the tactic of giving it to my main Nintendo ACCOUNT skiping that fact I have to use kubfu bc u don't have him as the game detects and just going with legendary and getting to the scroll getting the kubfu and using the scroll on that alt
Poor Espeon. Imagine being body slammed to death by Meganium after falling in love with her. Also, this is very brave of Cynthia to fight in her living room. I guess there was not much left of her fourniture and vacation house after Garchomp's earthquakes.
Does anyone else just love the sprite animations in BW? Like every Pokémon has unique and individual animations and movements. Like Garchomo even does a roar in his animation. Man I’m gonna miss these DS Pokémon games they were truly amazing

Even tho this is 6 months you can find bagon there on a small thingy cave and if you surf there there is a dead end if you run around there you might find bagon..just telling someone might be confused where bagon was in emerald-

Definitely not the only one. I’m still low key traumatized from my very first battle with him. That goddamn Espeon (always faster so I could never get past it) and that Snorlax (when I got past Espeon, Snorlax was a monster. Watching that bar going down then going up when it healed over and over...).
Seeing the Red, Blue and Yellow version is very nostalgic. The last time I played that with my Gameboy Pocket was year 1999. I was 10 years old that time. Im 31 years old and now playing Sword version. im happy and proud how the game improved throughout the years. 😁 Pokemon is really in my heart. Thank you Game Freak for making my childhood awesome. Hi 90's kids out there.
nt_3000 ah yes because saying Hop is great and perfect as a final boss type trainer makes me a GameFreak defender. Listen buddy not everyone who loves SwSh are bad.
I don't think the point of Hop is that he's supposed to be tough, I think it's more like he's a rival with one of the best character developments. Unlike the other rivals who are all like "Yeah well I'll beat you next time," Hop goes from that into "I really don't think I can beat you. But you're the champion, so that's a good thing that I can't beat you, so I'll better myself so that nobody else could beat me."
When I first played Crystal version as a kid (my first Gen 2 game), that Snorlax caused me so much grief, especially since I didn't show up with a strong fighting-type to take it down (I highly recommend a strong Machamp with Cross-Chop, in Gen 2, or Dynamic Punch in Gen 4, if the Machamp has No Guard).
I guarantee that max affection is the thing that saved the battles. There are quite a few times where one of his Pokémon would have fainted if not for the affection dodges/toughening up
In the original Gold/Silver games, I never made it to Red. I think I got to Lance and kept losing so I gave up. Years later, I had Soul Silver. I got past Lance this time and made it to Red. I had goosebumps when I realized he was supposed to be that “main character from your past” that comes back to haunt you!
For clarification: OP was most likely referring to diamond and pearl, Garchomp didn’t have flamethrower until platinum, meaning shedinja’s actually an optimal strat

While this isn’t the hardest super boss, I like the rematches you have with N. First, the fact that they take place in the destroyed Plasma Castle (the place of his final battle in B/W 1) is cool. Second, there’s a bit of evolution in N since you last saw him. He’s not the same person he was 2 years ago, and this is reflected in his new sprite smiling, remixed battle theme, and him no longer having the Plasma Logo. Lastly, he has 4 different teams, each based on a weather style, and weather was prominent in the competitive scene of Gen 5
Yes, at my last battle with elite 4 I was thinking that the boss has steel type Pokemon but he has all fire type , but I managed to defeat 4 or 5 of them but But last Pokemon was garados and my blazkin loose I only had 29lv wobofet And a miracle happen my full ho wobofet defeated full hp garados by counter I was really shocked

I've always found the original RED (Silver/Gold) to be the hardest, mostly because he's so high leveled and in S/G the levels in general were so low (the idea of an upgraded elite four had not yet struck) so it took forever if ever to become equally high leveled.
Jonas Sjödin i absolutely agree. I was always that guy who used basically one pokemon the whole time so i probably would have had a typhlosion around 65 or 70(way higher than any normal player would have) by the time i found Red and to see that pikachu come out and he was level 81 i was absolutely flabbergasted. Im sure the first time i fought him it would have been brutal. And even after my fourth and fifth playthroughs when i was a few years older i still wasnt able to beat him consistently until i had beaten the elite four many dozens of times. Beating him the first time every playthrough was a real accomplishment. I mean even here the battle is very long and takes tons of items and switches to beat him. And on a side note, totally agree with you, grinding your starter up to level 80 was a real challenge in these games when the elite four is only in the 50’s and level 100 was a serious thing for only the no lifers (which i was!)
Early on and I'm already bothered how much lower the Pokemon levels are. Also the most notable constant in these battles is how much they like to use Snorlax
I really love the Prof. Oak battle. It's so intimidating, almost like Red's battle, and both came out of nowhere. Plus it had it's battle theme which is great. Such a shame that they cut it out in the final versions

Not really. The only way he can flip you over is either that all your mons are at low level 60, or your mons are at level 70 and you get caught off guard while playing set mode. I find him to be pretty easy to defeat ngl
Diamond was the first game I had ever played in the series. I completed a few more after it, but was longing for another DS game. Friggin BW came out, really happy. I heard in some recess talk BW2 was gunna be a thing, and got super stoked. I remember clearing it out with basically the same team comp as BW, and I remember using the postgame to explore for random items in places. Opening that door and hearing that piano filled me with so much hype and dread at the same exact moment I had to take a second to go get a bottle of water, due to the nausea I got from that singular moment. That was the most hype battle I've had in ages, and it was in some tiny little villa by the sea lol.
I shat an actual brick when I acidentally walked into Cynthia's vacation house for the first time.... WIth that said; HG/SS Red does not fuck around either. Almost scary.
I'm here to say that Hop's battle is a joke because of xp candies. I did lose the first time (Shield is harder btw) because i played honourably and didn't use items in battle
I've never actually watched someone fight professor Oak while being able to hear the music. Honestly the music in that battle sounds amazing, it sounds tense and exciting, while also sounding fun.
Really funny hearing all the trouble people had with Red. I was the dumb kid that traded the npc a belsprout for rocky (the onix) thinking it would evolve into steelix… then trained it all the way to 100 to no avail. Never understood training mechanics back then but boy was the game a cake walk with an onix that rarely obeyed you 😭
The fact that Red's Blastoise in Soul Silver one shot my entire team didn't even make me mad, as he was my starter pokemon and the strongest in my Fire Red gameplay. It was like I was fighting my pokemon, even the level was the same, 84...
I'm so happy to witness and see how much Pokemon has evolved over the years. One of the most greatest, most annoying, most difficult, most stupidest, most awesome games EVER!
Hm, hardest defeat. Cheren in Pokemon White. Because back then, the only pokemon I EVER used was my Samurott (it was my first ever pokemon game and I was utterly stupid on how to play it) and I didn’t know how to beat his Serperior. Sidenote: Smurfette had me laughing hard.

It was designed to make up for the lack luster difficulty in post game of gen 2 ... Gen 2 being more diverse and open wolrd like meant the linear level system failed and you always had overleveled pokemon if you ran a single team... I maybe wrong but this is what I feel

Some trainers had worse pokemon than the 7th gym leader in jotho had not to mention that only blue was a decent enough increase but for the 8th kanto badge and designed to be the last gym leader to battle even he had a weak team. Thats what i dont like about the second gen (initial release and remake) that its way too easy overall.
Red's Pikachu is still the strongest NPC trainer Pokémon in the series to date iirc.

Seeing the Red, Blue and Yellow version is very nostalgic. The last time I played that with my Gameboy Pocket was year 1999. I was 10 years old that time. I don't think the point of Hop is that he's supposed to be tough, I think it's more like he's a rival with one of the best character developments.
Unlike the other rivals who are all like "Yeah well I'll beat you next time," Hop goes from that into "I really don't think I can beat you. But you're the champion, so that's a good thing that I can't beat you, so I'll better myself so that nobody else could beat me."

When I first played Crystal version as a kid (my first Gen 2 game), that Snorlax caused me so much grief, especially since I didn't show up with a strong fighting-type to take it down (I highly recommend a strong Machamp with Cross-Chop, in Gen 2, or Dynamic Punch in Gen 4, if the Machamp has No Guard).
I guarantee that max affection is the thing that saved the battles. There are quite a few times where one of his Pokémon would have fainted if not for the affection dodges/toughening up
In the original Gold/Silver games, I never made it to Red. I think I got to Lance and kept losing so I gave up.
Years later, I had Soul Silver. I got past Lance this time and made it to Red.
I had goosebumps when I realized he was supposed to be that “main character from your past” that comes back to haunt you!

Lamier Anthony I know right. The requirement to get his team up that high is to beat Cynthia 20 times in postgame.
While this isn’t the hardest super boss, I like the rematches you have with N. First, the fact that they take place in the destroyed Plasma Castle (the place of his final battle in B/W 1) is cool. Second, there’s a bit of evolution in N since you last saw him. He’s not the same person he was 2 years ago, and this is reflected in his new sprite smiling, remixed battle theme, and him no longer having the Plasma Logo. Lastly, he has 4 different teams, each based on a weather style, and weather was prominent in the competitive scene of Gen 5

Yes, at my last battle with elite 4 I was thinking that the boss has steel type Pokemon but he has all fire type , but I managed to defeat 4 or 5 of them but
But last Pokemon was garados and my blazkin loose I only had 29lv wobofet
And a miracle happen my full ho wobofet defeated full hp garados by counter I was really shocked

Probably one of my favorite childhood memories was discovering Red on Mt. Silver
I've always found the original RED (Silver/Gold) to be the hardest, mostly because he's so high leveled and in S/G the levels in general were so low (the idea of an upgraded elite four had not yet struck) so it took forever if ever to become equally high leveled.
Jonas Sjödin i absolutely agree. I was always that guy who used basically one pokemon the whole time so i probably would have had a typhlosion around 65 or 70(way higher than any normal player would have) by the time i found Red and to see that pikachu come out and he was level 81 i was absolutely flabbergasted. Im sure the first time i fought him it would have been brutal. And even after my fourth and fifth playthroughs when i was a few years older i still wasnt able to beat him consistently until i had beaten the elite four many dozens of times. Beating him the first time every playthrough was a real accomplishment. I mean even here the battle is very long and takes tons of items and switches to beat him. And on a side note, totally agree with you, grinding your starter up to level 80 was a real challenge in these games when the elite four is only in the 50’s and level 100 was a serious thing for only the no lifers (which i was!)
It’s comforting to know that Gladion is one of the strongest trainers in USUM

Also the most notable constant in these battles is how much they like to use Snorlax
I wish I'd put more time into gen 5 competitive when it was new, those games look so damn good.

I really love the Prof. Oak battle. It's so intimidating, almost like Red's battle, and both came out of nowhere. Plus it had it's battle theme which is great.

Not really. The only way he can flip you over is either that all your mons are at low level 60, or your mons are at level 70 and you get caught off guard while playing set mode. I find him to be pretty easy to defeat ngl

Diamond was the first game I had ever played in the series. I completed a few more after it, but was longing for another DS game. Friggin BW came out, really happy. I heard in some recess talk BW2 was gunna be a thing, and got super stoked. I remember clearing it out with basically the same team comp as BW, and I remember using the postgame to explore for random items in places. Opening that door and hearing that piano filled me with so much hype and dread at the same exact moment I had to take a second to go get a bottle of water, due to the nausea I got from that singular moment. That was the most hype battle I've had in ages, and it was in some tiny little villa by the sea lol.
I shat an actual brick when I acidentally walked into Cynthia's vacation house for the first time.... WIth that said; HG/SS Red does not fuck around either. Almost scary.

Really funny hearing all the trouble people had with Red. I was the dumb kid that traded the npc a belsprout for rocky (the onix) thinking it would evolve into steelix… then trained it all the way to 100 to no avail. Never understood training mechanics back then but boy was the game a cake walk with an onix that rarely obeyed you 😭
The fact that Red's Blastoise in Soul Silver one shot my entire team didn't even make me mad, as he was my starter pokemon and the strongest in my Fire Red gameplay. It was like I was fighting my pokemon, even the level was the same, 84...
I'm so happy to witness and see how much Pokemon has evolved over the years. One of the most greatest, most annoying, most difficult, most stupidest, most awesome games EVER!
