Absolutely, orchidhearrt. That is the best illustration of WHY Phillip won. His appeal is that pure, raw emotion, and yes, sex appeal are right there for the audience to see and feel. He's not just singing the words. He's living them, if only because he's into the spirit of the lyrics. Good job!!

I also agree that this may have been the best duet of Season 11. Actually, I was a bit surprised that this wasn't done on the tour. Would have been MAGIC every night!
What could be clearly seen through this performance is Phillip sings with all his heart and soul and he's just got it all.It is not about how perfect your tone is how high notes you can hit.It's about being a true artist that devote everything to music,not the audience,not for the applause,but for music, especially while performing.
I totally disagree with those who insist that a better singing voice is more important than stage presence. Phillip Phillips touches the listeners' hearts and souls and Joshua Ledet, his better singing voice notwithstanding, doesn't. The same people who think that Jessica Sanchez has a better voice and should have won, don't realize that performing, especially live, has more to do with connecting with the listener. Phillip does and neither Joshua or Jessica has that indefinable "IT."
Joshua is good but he does not have that "it" factor. I think it would be great if he and Phillip recorded a song together. They sound fabulous together.
And Phillip did???? He was boring as hell!!! with an ordinary voice....there's now WAY he should have won!!! Crap like this why the ratings of this show has dropped off considerably over the few years.....The most talented singers (last time I checked it was a SINGING competition not a popularity contest) almost always get voted off way too early and we get left with boring ass entertainers like PHILLIP PHILLIPS. watch the duet between Joshua and Jessica....THAT is entertainment...and what also SHOULD have been the finale.....

Do they sound great ? Absolutely, this is brillant and I can't praise both guys voices and Mr Phillips (who did my fave M5 Cover ever with "Give A Little More" during the same season of A.I). But "better" than Adam himself and the four talented musicians of M5 around him ? Well vocally they're two here while Adam is alone with just some backing vocals from James Valentine (M5 Lead Guitar) but overall M5's version is the ultimate. Both vocally AND Musically.
Anybody, and I mean anybody that can't feel what Joshua is giving to the audience just doesn't want to feel it because it's very real. You don't have to like Josh or his style of singing, but not feeling him....that's just not honest.
joshua outsang phillip here, because phillip doesnt sing these kind of songs.. he mainly sings country songs and for that you need as big/high of a range...
