I watched their (Larry and Coop) entire careers. Larry is unquestionably right. And Coop could shoot and score and pass, too. He was the Lakers backup point after they traded Norm.
BTW, for those who question guys who were primarily 6th men like Coop and Bobby Jones, I will say I think they had a bigger positive impact on the game the guys who were simply solid starters, like Bill Bradley or Jamaal wilkes..

The Chief is one of the most underrated players in NBA history, even though he is talked about a lot, is given his due, and is in the Hall of Fame. It was the age of the great centers and big men and Robert held his own against them all. He quietly went about his business and fit in perfectly with a team that was stacked with that much talent. On any other team, as the starting center in his prime, Robert would have scored at least another 5 to 10 points a night. If not more.

@Akartavor I know what you mean. Since I'm Celtic fan I watched games but it was hard time. here in FL they won't necessarily air some games. But since they were in the play offs. As the clock ticked down , Dallas was charging towards the basket, they didn't get to the three shot line. One player heading down to the basket. This is what gets me,all of the team stopped at the triple point ,so they didn't think take the easy bucket, just threw
Up a 3. Of course it bounced off the rim. If this is the way the NBA goes down the tube's. The rule changes took all that stuff we all leaned, traveling, up and down , ticky tacky fouls. I wonder what it would be like if they enforced the rules. The whole team would foul out.

After seeing him play his heart (and ankle) out those playoffs, I seriously changed.
I would have invited him to my home and he could have stayed in the master bedroom overnight.
It would have been an honor for me to host him. Thank God for the NBA. It helped melt my heart.

Wonderful stories with one of my favorite players. (I respect Coop, but I disliked the Lakers.) I could listen to Larry Bird stories all day. The Celtics would not have been the same without Robert, and the Celtics-Laker rivalry would not have been the same without Michael Cooper. The Chief was so dependable when Larry got him the ball down low, and Coop was so annoying with his great defense on the Legend. Robert always finished, usually with a thunderous dunk, and Michael was always attached to Larry like a suckerfish on a whale. 😂

About KC Jones drawing up that play, KC said he called timeout and Larry started telling him just get him the ball and get everyone else out of the way. KC said he was the coach and he'll draw up the play and they will run that play.
So KC drew up the play. He told Kevin to inbound the ball and get it to DJ and for DJ to get it to Larry and told everyone else to get out of the way.
