Those older All Star games were fantastic. There were no easy baskets. The players played for pride. Players like Oscar Robertson played to win. Today's All Star games aren't worth watching. I would rather watch the WNBA before another NBA All Star game.
It was truly a classic. Just as it was called. The top players competing for the W. The last 10 years or so not the least bit of effort is given on defense.
In fact, to the extreme. Players actually back up and get out of the way! This would have been unthinkable years ago. Thanks, "stars" of today.
Oscar/Earl/Havlicek/Lucas/Russell is an insane starting five
the Hawks players look like they are wearing silk pajamas
Unreal how there were 2 Rockets in the starting lineup, despite their team finishing with a losing record.
Where is Jerry West??
He’s late
Wilt was not the starting center for the West!?
He was just off an injury, and Kareem was averaging like 30 or.sumn...but I'm pretty sure in this game, he shot better than Kareem, blocked more shots and grabbed more rebounds(offensive and defensive)
@@JohnnyRodgers3 This was the year BEFORE Kareem joined the NBA.
@@mikepetitti Kareem is litterally in the video
@@JohnnyRodgers3 Kareem's first game in the NBA was October of 1969. The game in this video was from January 1969 - almost 10 months earlier. I don't see Kareem in the video.
@@mikepetittioh my god you are completely right. I read the title, and only assumed. My bad man😂
