If you are flying, it's much cheaper to check your frozen fish as luggage. I always rationalize flying first class, at least for the return trip, because I can check two 70-pound fish boxes for free.

The AA site indicates that fish and game are treated as baggage. The credit card gives you one free bag, but the second bag is $40 and additional bags are $100. That is still way cheaper than FedEx.
