The thing I love about the backrooms is that it's not like " oh noe I've tripped into what seems like the bac- *jumps scare*" It's like the buildup that makes this give me goosebumps, good work keep it uuup :P
I used to like this until y'all made it to some kind of video game where there are levels and loot spawns and sht like that. Back when it was just the yellow floor and the garage parking lot was it's best version
Has anyone else noticed how in almost all of these backroom videos they are walking on carpet but it sounds like they are walking with hard sole shoes in a garage?
YUMMY the way you have the "person" hesitatingly walk is perfect. I mimics a person who is suddenly in a strange new place. They walk cautisusly, also you have the "person" always looking back, suspisciously.
this is done really well! I like how there are only two jumpscares and they’re timed very well when the viewers tension will be at its highest. things like the couch and the wires also give the viewer something to think about when it comes to the story behind the video. Great job!
One key thing I've noticed that's almost constant and unusual is the supposedly story of these short films timelines. A lot of then happen throughout the entirety of the 90s specifically. Occasionally it's before the 90s or after but in the early 2000s max. I'm thoroughly convinced backrooms culture by nature is strongly tied to nostalgia of leminial space theory and the melinial demography.
My only real gripe is how the monster doesn’t look like anything particularly back rooms *familiar*, and how the hypersonic speed seems to break any sense of weight. I think my favorite example of a monster is Kane Pixel’s clunky clanky spider monster encounter, to take notes from for a chase scene. I get neither of these were necessarily chase scenes, but to cut off so abruptly… Well it doesn’t feel low effort or *bad* it just feels like there should be a little more time for our POV, the wanderer, to realize something’s happened. I think the Backrooms instills fear not because you can die in a split second- every monster in the backrooms (for the most part) is fine tuned to make sure that just about no mater what it is, there is *nearly* always a chance you survive the encounter. Break line of sight around a corner, hide, act respectfully- hell, most of the life in the Backrooms from the canons I’m familiar with feels more like an *ecological system* than rampant murder monsters. I just think that if the (somewhat spaghettified) star of the show today had a little more grounded attention as a living thing than a mindless force of nature, it’d feel a little more enticing to try and *escape* it. Running from a wolf constantly biting inches behind your feet is a lot more nerve wracking than instantly getting ran over by a Boeing 747 at Mach 2. But aside from that, basic stuff like polish on the footsteps matching with movement speed, a more convincing camera sway, and better shadows would go a long way. I’m still looking forward to anything posted by ‘Yummy Bleach’
While I am new to this whole story, I do wonder why the entities are so different than the environment. The backrooms are banal in the color, lighting, wallpaper pattern that the entities stand out as alien. I suppose they could be trapped from other worlds/ dimensions.
That's because of another level titled the hive. This hub of monsters seep into the other levels. But these seem like they are wretched. People who got too tired or too hungry or too thirsty to keep up with their body thus creating the wretched cycle.
This looks great, has the perfect level of hum (as some people make that too loud), and the entities also are on point. Even the timing is toch notch, BUT, the glaring issue that breaks the suspension of disbelief, is the camera viewpoint. This looks like a first person shooter, and we're seeing the footage through the eye's of the trespasser, which isnt how found footage works. The viewpoint should be from a handheld camera, which wont necessarily pan as the person looks around, but instead will try to capture direct movement and points of interest, and won't appear this smooth, as handheld cameras, even on a selfie stick are still a bit jerky
Although the movement seems way way to computerized the sudden monster appearance was rather well done, of course if not mostly just because it was a rather jumpscary type deal, outside of that nothing about this was really great however.
what i love about these jump scare is that the monsters are soo quick that your brain is like "wtf am I seeing?!" and in fact you don't even have time to think that!!!
the only 2 small nitpicks i have are some of the camera movement seems kinda unrealistic and the footstep sounds xd other than that, this is actually really well done!
Even in the thumbnail, it’s hard to make out exactly what this monster is . It’s extremely fast, will probably end you before you even have the chance to react
The moments are glide-y i think if you gave it a little bit of an up and down bobble it would feel a bit more realistic and the 2 jumpscares felt a bit cheap its just "fast thing run" if you gave more moments of build up to the creature it self like having it walk past not sprint but walk past only running when it notices prey that would make it feel much more terrifying I do like how the wires gave me the impression that it was a sort of nest or place the monsters go to with how it ignores the pov to go to it Overall you could use some work but you atleast have a solid foundation for making some nice animations
This one is interesting in that comparatively it is made with novice technique, revealing alot of the underlying CGI technique that give other backroom videos their more realistic look
i cant tell whether or not i am a fan of the camera being obvious mouse movent or not, because even tho it doesnt look realistic, that kinda gives the video a weird atmosphere
the entity almost looks like siren head😬😬😬 also how do you find rooms that big? do you use green screen to make it look bigger or is all made from animation?
I definitely applaud the quality of the video. The only thing I suggest is not moving so fast when the footsteps do not match. In the beginning it sounds like you're walking very slowly, but the camera moves as if you're walking fast. This breaks the experience big time. I'm only saying this to help you improve the quality of any future backrooms videos you give us :D
I think this video is the perfect example of a novice backroom video maker's techniques, and if you compare it to the other ones, you can see the techniques they're using to make things feel more realistic. Like blurring all the sharp lines, making the camera bob up and down when the pov walks, keeping the pov from ever settling on a specific spot, and the Foley work is of course absolutely pivotal, it has to sound like the camera holder is walking in an appropriately sized room.
Why everybody makes proportions so bad? Why lamps are so big compare to the MC? Its that big as 3 people can fit in this area uder them(probably ~2.2m²). And this makes a feeling like the ceiling is too low. Also the denoiser flickering is obvious. Good video
I like the entire video and all but the only thing I don’t like about it is the footsteps it sounds like you’re stepping on concrete floor instead of carpet
I like the monsters part. But the strides are too big and the foot sounds are as if the person is walking on a cemented floor instead of carpet. Maybe you can fix that for your next videos.
Soooo why does it sound like our guy is walking down a tiled hallway in dress shoes instead of on moist carpet? And why is there never any almond water? I want to see some poor soul trying to drink the almond water out of the carpet... Right before an entity gets him, of course.
This is better then any video the cam work is incredible the entity is a bitch tho What kind of entity looks like the abint spider or smth but these entities can’t run near that fast
It kinda looks like the monster from carrion. It has the "fleshy disembodied mass of tentacles" to it. It's most certainly fast like the one in Carrion.
the desing of that is sick, all wires and stuff
This guy's video makes your videos seem incredibly advanced in their techniques and Foley work, he definitely looks up to you.
Thank you so much, your work is absolutely amazing and you were the one to inspired me to make this 🥹
I think that "Backrooms" are made by alien race in hyperspace - like hypercube in "interstellar" So creatures may have many, extra dimensions.

It was also immaculate. Without the soggy carpets
Has anyone else noticed how in almost all of these backroom videos they are walking on carpet but it sounds like they are walking with hard sole shoes in a garage?
maybe its like those hard carpets where its not really soft but you acknowledge that its carpet
The camera movement looks very unnatural compared to other animations but I love the concept of this entity and the jumpscare
Best jumpscares are the slower paced and more tension types. Yup.
That’s because it’s not real

You should make an essay about this
@@mauricioruiz522 I mean, i'd read it.
It's an interesting theory.
A new one.
I think it is...
Indeed
It’s really because the glitchy camera, noisy footage hides the low res 3d animation.
It’s hilarious imagining this guy’s 8 feet stride, as he walks 😂
Exactly what I was thinking!
I imagine he walks the same way spongebob did in that special where his arms and legs got all loopy

That's because of another level titled the hive. This hub of monsters seep into the other levels. But these seem like they are wretched. People who got too tired or too hungry or too thirsty to keep up with their body thus creating the wretched cycle.

This was super tense and the timing of the jump scares was perfect, I jumped at both of them. Nice job!
I love how nobody is talking about the description saying "send nudes"
This is defiantly a good way to study the concept of how a first-person view in video games work especially this short film here.
what i love about these jump scare is that the monsters are soo quick that your brain is like "wtf am I seeing?!" and in fact you don't even have time to think that!!!
the camera movement and walking seems straight out of a video game but when the zoomies happen (1:32), it seems natural.
