Hey great Video. Im asking for your advice. The camera Sony Alpha 7 III does only make 30P in 4K. But I see your video is in 4k and Slowmotion. How did you do it?
I know shooting at 120 helps but you must have ver y steady hands to pull focus and move like this. My Helios is really stiff to focus so kudos for nailing the focus like this@@dylanjohndickerson

@@dylanjohndickerson i mean if you overexpose your slog footage 1-2 stops and then go down in color grading :P and do you set your details on your a7sii to -7 or something?
@@SOULPAD Ehh na, not really. I try and get my shot as even as I can on my waveform. Maybe sometimes I let it swing a little farther right than it should. So in those instances, I lower my overall exposure before adding a conversion LUT. And yep! I think I have the detail of my A7siii set to -7.

Thank you so much, Jesse! I appreciate the sub. So I shot the video in 60fps and 120 fps. In Final Cut Pro, you'd click the retime menu and hit 'automatic speed'. If you're editing on a 24p timeline, this will slow down those clips to conform to the timeline.

Have you made a tutorial for these? I'd love to see how you direct something like this, and which lenses you choose for each shot. Also the film overlay clip. What do you do to make the frame rate look more like a super 8? What's the effect called? Just interpreting at a different rate I assume?

Shutter speed was twice the frame rate so usually 1/120 if 60fps, etc. My aperture was usually wide open but not always. ISO was the base ISO for my camera (the A7siii) which is 640.

Hey man! I use a Small Rig focus module and pull focus manually. Sometimes I focus well, sometimes I don't. It's the way it goes when pulling focus yourself!

How did you attached the filter to the Helios?
I just used whatever filter thread the Helios is and stepped up to the standard filter size I have (which is 72 and 82)
