i have the same reservations, about Saudi, but your channel has become a great relief for me. At the moment i am going through the same process as Evgeniy, but seeing brit in Saudi relaxed and optimistic is giving me much hope about my future life there
Don’t worry, LOADS of cafes, and they are open probably later than most nightclubs 😂 The party scene still exists, but it’s all underground and so no one would know it’s there unless you have an in. It ultimately all comes down to what you want from life here. There really is something for everyone.
Great job Pete! Thank you for shearing your experience! I’m also considering to work in Saudi so everything you say is very useful! I have an idea for another vlog:) Can you please show us your favourite coffe shops and restaurants you visit with Thea. As there are not so much of fun to do in Saudi I guess it would be nice to know about that. P.S. Женя, удачи с переездом!
Hey! Thank you for the kind words and the idea. And it is my pleasure. It’s not too easy filming in public places because there is actually a law around not filming anyone without their permission, so you could imagine how this’d go if you caught someone who wasn’t that way inclined..! I’d love to though, I’d try to choose some spots / quiet times!
As a Saudi, I welcome everyone who comes to my country because it will accommodate everyone. I say to Evgeniy, do not worry. We do not have organized gangs or thieves in the corridors. People here know most cultures, especially Western ones, because 90% of Saudi citizens have traveled abroad and 30% received their education in America or Europe. There are no specific dress codes. Wear whatever you want. We as Saudis wear shirts in most places, especially on the beach and in the supermarket. For women, dress modestly. You can find out about this by searching on RUclips and watching clips from people's lives. As for the routine, you can create a special routine for you, such as going to the park or the mall, as there are many brands that are available, or going to a coffee shop. Most of the people are young and have friends from every country. There are no barriers, especially since most of them speak English. I advise you to visit the city of Al-Khobar, close to Riyadh, which is a clean and very elegant coastal city.
@@petedoessaudi You are wonderful person . Unfortunately, we Saudis woke up late and found some international newspapers distorting the reputation of our society for decades. It is true that our society and our values seem different from some European or American countries, but believe me and be sure that our customs, traditions and religion force us to deal with other people as our guests and to deal with them with respect, love, honesty and integrity. This does not mean that there are no mistakes, but that what I say is often the case.
@@mohd-obid you’re too kind, thank you! I can wholeheartedly agree with what you’re saying as I’ve experienced all of that myself - the hospitality and culture around that really is impeccable!
@@petedoessaudi I was a British expat there working remotely for the same Western company so I was paid in GBP and transferred whatever I needed to RUB as desired. After Feb. 24th everything changed very fast and it became impossible to live there without reliable and fast access to funds. I could get money in 11 seconds which became weeks and then never. Everyone mentions crypto but they’re increasingly cutting off Russian cards from exchanges. Life was pretty good there so it’s a shame. Now just regrouping in London. I would definitely visit Saudi Arabia but no strong desire to move there at this stage.
What a wonderful channel! Thank you Pete for sharing your experience with us, greatly appreciated as many of us on here are either thinking about moving or planning to move soon. I am between Dubai and Jeddah and trying to do my research as much as possible. Have you been to Dubai, your thoughts/comparisons? Thank you again and keep it up! 😊
I wouldn’t be the person to ask about this, but could look at seeing if I can interview sometime on this topic. I would assume LinkedIn, and also doing your research on the field you want to get into and searching out reputable companies and see if they have vacancies.
Alhamdulilallah i am soo proud of everyone, i am soo proud of my country 🇸🇦 and so proud for everyone loving my country ❤️ 🇸🇦🕋 alhamdulilallah
Thank you for sharing this 🙌🏼🫶🏼
I am in the same situation as Evgeniy and enjoyed the watching. I am amazed how generous you are with your time, Pete. Very impressive in this world!
Exciting times, so you’re waiting to come across? And thank you, it’s my pleasure being in a position to help people 🙏🏼
I second the comments about Pete, seems a chill dude.
Thanks a lot for sharing this experience and please keep releasing similar videos for all of us interested in moving to KSA
No problem Amir, hope it was of some use!

A video I can relate to having left Moscow recently.
Similar reasons for you to leave?

What are good job search sites for someone looking to find companies to apply to?
