I know you aren't a doctor, but I still understand you have a deep understanding into the DodMerb process. I am allergic to shrimp, crab, and lobster, are these immediate disqualifying allergies?
USMA 2013 - Honestly you don't know what they'll qualify or disqualify for until you go thru the process. Great answer / non answer but everyone is so different from each other its hard to make a blanket statement like "a shellfish allergy is an immediate disqualification". It'll depend on severity, history, ability to mitigate, etc. I had a lot of peers and later on, Soldiers, NCO's, fellow Officers, etc. that were allergic to bee stings, penicillin, whatever. We just always made sure we had the correct boot lace / dog tag markers and epipens on hand. Not a huge deal.
Thank you @justinaltemose, great answer. I stress this all time in my videos-----Go Directly to the Source, DoDMETS. Don't rely on internet posts. Good luck and let us know what the answer from DoDMETS is.
Political "connections" may not Guarantee an appointment, but it certainly is a factor, possibly a big factor, depending on your particular representative/senator. To suggest otherwise makes you either foolishly naive or a liar. Two equal candidates, one the child of a big campaign donor and the other the child of the opposing party's local organization chair, who will get the nomination? That's an extreme example, but the fact is bias will always play a part when money is involved (unless the process is firewalled from the rep, which may be the case for some reps/senators). Big donors have a leg up in getting into elite universities and same goes for the military academies.
Myth 3 is so true. So many cadets are out of shape
As a parent, I really appreciate your videos!
Thank you. Is there a particular subject that you would like covered?
