I live in the Philippines and Filipinos are somehow hopeless romantic. We love the idea of being in love like the ones in the movies and Fairy tales. I am not an exception because I love watching Romantic movies. You might want to hear my story.... I was a freshman student when I met her. I was skinny, my clothes were absurd, I can’t even buy her a snack, I’m not handsome and I know for sure that I was broke. I was the typical happy-go-lucky lad who loves playing strings and video games. She was the head-turner campus crush, Probably the prettiest on the campus at that time. And yes, she shot me straight to my heart. I don’t even know what LOVE is during that time but I’m sure that it felt right. The crazy thing about first love is that it is something so special. It’s magical because of our ignorance that it can never end. And that hit me hard. I can’t buy her lunch or give her gifts, so I did it the old school way. I wrote songs and poems for her, walked her home and I made sure that my intentions were pure. And she said yes after 2 months. We were together for 4 years and it was wonderful. I can still remember my younger self singing HARANA to impress her, First kiss, first dance, and all. After our high school graduation, I took my college degree here in Manila while she was taking nursing in Negros, we promised to take the risks of a long-distance relationship and prove the doubters wrong. And then……. She’s gone. Na ghost ako! I moved on with my life and knew that she was happy with another guy. --------------Fast forward------------- I’m now 30 years old. My mom just died because of Covid19 and my dad 8 months after my mom joined the heavens. I went back to Negros for my Papa’s funeral and…. and we meet again…. She’s finally a nurse working in the UK. We talked about the places we’ve been, the things that happened after 13 long years. I did not ask why she left maybe because I know it happened for a reason. “She’s really back in his life and it feels alright.”. She’s home because she’s getting married in a month. I was happy for her until we kissed for the last time. It’s crazy but I felt like she’s still the one…. And I still love her like before. I flew back to Manila and few days after she told me that she felt the same. “ ikaw ra jud gihapon”. I will always believe in the right time and hoping that maybe this time ......... She flew to Manila to see me and that was when I realized that she was not kidding. She stayed here for a couple of days and then the rest is history. Jul-5-2022 I was thinking about him, and suddenly, the lyrics of this song popped up in my mind. We are friends for almost a decade now, and the last time I saw him was 2013. We had an on and off communication every year, but just this year (2022), we became much closer, and eventually had a mutual understanding, but without the label. This song is so true for me and my true love. The last time we saw each other was 32 years ago; our last time as a couple was 36 years. We kept in touch off and on off through the years up until just a short time ago when we communicated a bit more frequently. Eventually the more we talked we began to reminisce about the time we were together the more the good, old feelings returned to us both like someone put fuel to a smoldering fire. The fire of our love re-ignited immediately and continues to grow and have good warmth. She sent this song to me and it describes us perfectly. But one word I am removing from this song is the word "maybe".

I am ready, yet she's not. I met her two years ago. I'm an irregular student. We became classmates in almost all of my subjects. The first time I saw her, I felt something extraordinary. Something that it's hard to explain, but I didn't pursue her. I don't want to disturb her. She's happy by herself and she's an amazing woman, a wife material one. She had all of the standards that I want from a woman. I thought my feelings for her would be temporary and definitely would fade over time. I hadn't seen her for almost one year and thought my feelings would be like that, "I like her" was enough. I didn't know that I would fall for her this hard. We had so many similarities, especially in characteristics, life perspectives, and past experiences. I confessed my feelings to her recently, and she handled it amazingly. She said she's not yet ready and I respect that. She wants to enjoy herself first and I believe that because she's not entertaining anyone. I love the assurance from her even though we're not together for now. I just hope that when she's ready, she'll still be available. I will be back for this comment when it is already the right time and let her read it. My hope for her is strong and I hope that she will be my forever.

super relate sa music na toh. I have a friend and we have 10 years of friendship when i realized that i fell for him. I didn't confess but i know that he knows my feelings. When we're grade 9 he transfered to different school. Before he leaves, he confessed to me that he fell for me too but we are thinking the same that we shouldn't be more than friends. I was thinking about him, and suddenly, the lyrics of this song popped up in my mind.
We are friends for almost a decade now, and the last time I saw him was 2013. We had an on and off communication every year, but just this year (2022), we became much closer, and eventually had a mutual understanding, but without the label. We both know were more than friends already, but we haven't made it official. But just this June, he decided that we should just remain as friends. I was hurt, I cried. I know he was hurting, too. But he told me I will still be special to him and will always be in his heart.
It's just almost a month since he friend zoned me. I know it is still fresh, and I am still in pain. Everyday, I am hoping that he would come back to me and will tell me that we'll do it right this time. For now, I will need to get use to being alone again. I will need to move forward, keep improving and love myself. I hope one day, we'll see each other again, and when that time comes, it will be the right time, the right place, and we're both right person for each other.
Someday, I hope to go back to this comment, and will tell everyone that we're together again, happier, married, and have build our own family.
