This is my favorite track on the whole album..brings me back to Bobby Womack and Donny Hathaway songs...just beautiful old soul and R&B! This has to be the collaboration of the decade~
funny how you said it was more Anderson weighted. i thought this was the one that rlly felt like a bruno mars song. reminds me a bit of his old love songs.
I feel the same way. What Bruno did on this one is out of this world. Just unreal. I feel like pretty much every other track on the album favors Anderson. This one is all Bruno's, though. By far my favorite song, too, even though I am just completely obsessed with the entire album and this collab.
"Put On a Smile" songwriters: Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, D'Mile, and Babyface Producers: Bruno Mars & D'Mile Vocals, guitar, percussion: Bruno Mars Vocals, drums: Anderson .Paak Bass, piano, percussion, backing vocals: D'Mile Backing vocals: Babyface Bruno's vocals on this were insane!!! In an interview Andy said along with Bruno being a great singer, he was a great vocal producer. You can hear the vocal improvements Andy has made with Bruno's coaching.
I love the grit in Anderson's voice as well. His voice is classic "soul", that old Motown sound and his drumming is also that Motown Funk Brothers style. What a talented artist he is
This one has a 70's, O'Jays, flavor to it. The arrangement, lyric styling and harmonies. There's even a baseline (or partial) from a particular tune, whose name escapes me @ the moment. Pure, funky ol' soul. With the tracks I've heard so far, they've covered the Cryin' Lovin' Leavin' With a li'l Skating thrown in for balance.
Notice the climatic note of Bruno, ‘I’m dyyyyyy-iiiiiin’ & background comes in, that Anderson matches the rhythm of the vocal lick on the drums. Made me wonder, which was tracked 1st. 😊 Also when they bring it back down, especially toward the end, harmonizing, ‘you, you, you…..’, sounds like they use an African talking drum for part of the effect, with the descending pitches.
So Bruno and Anderson went back in the basement and pulled out some 45s of Thorn Bell arrangements and Gamble and Huff writing style and put a new school twist on some Philly soul Great review 😃
She is called the queen of goosebumps, a unique voice - contralto with polyphonic overtones. The most famous hit of the king of rock 'n' roll in an unrivaled gorgeous, phenomenal performance by Diana Ankudinova ( 18 y.o.) Can’t Help Falling in Love (Elvis Presley / DARK VERSION cover) Please react to Diana Ankudinova ! She has insane and unique vocals and great stage presence and her performances (from the show You are Super ! ( win twice ) are gorgeously choreographed and you should find them very interesting. Top song choices are up Wicked Game, Derniere Danse, Blizzard, Human, River. She is really an amazing young artist!

This song showcased vocals and emotions. Actually you are wrong aboutAnderson weighted song coz this is more of Bruno style of music with heavy vocal requirements especially on the chorus.
@@TheCharlieSmithChannel well the verses also doesnt make the majority but what im implying is the theme and the tempo of the song is so heavy vocals and if not a Bruno style then they both divided the song according to the ranges of their voices.
Anderson had both verses and they both sung the chorus and pre-chorus. Anderson sung the most making it an Anderson weighted song vocally. This isn't up for debate it's just a fact
@@TheCharlieSmithChannel anderson only adlib in the chorus..he is not the one sung it..im talking about the theme and style of the song not who sang who.

YEAH, I TASTE A FLAVOR OF DONNY HATHAWAY, BUT, THIS ALSO TASTE LIKE THE DRAMATICS "DOOR TO YOUR HEART"

The performance is Anderson weighted. The songwriting is Bruno weighted. Definitely joining his list of Top 10 and award winning/nominated songs.

THE WAY ANDERSON SANG "EGO" AND "MOVIE STAR" FELT THAT SHIT
Thank you so much Charlie, a great song indeed and both artists are super wonderful.
Anderson’s voice melted my ❤️. Bruno is Bruno he hits those high 🎶 as expected. So good to see Anderson showcase his vocals, and they are good.
Damn ! I can't get enough of it,! Bad ass song it's fire 🔥 I listen to it over & over. Love it!!
This song is so good❤️🔥classic r’n’b ballad. It reminds me of “Too good to say goodbye” from Bruno’s 24K magic album🤩

The melody has elements of Door To Your Heart by The Dramatics.

I love this project, A breath of fresh air and feeling good....I get a Curtis Mayfield inspired on this track..Like a soundtrack.

Bruno outshined in dis 1 🔥
You are entitled to your opinion but I fully disagree 😁
Beautiful
A classic
The songs message reminds me of Smokey Robinson's-Tracks of My Tears
I love the Ambrosia touch bruno did on minute 3:41.
great video Charlie Smith. I broke the thumbs up on your video. Maintain up the awesome work.
That song is a “DAGER”
It shows ......btw. we're entitled to our own opinions ☺️
Let me sum this up, THIS MUSIC IS JUST “GROWN “ but manages to also appeal to the younger listeners out there. Thank you SILK SONIC 🙏…..
The chorus kinda go against what you expected but you couldnt get mad at it because it sounded really good
Exactly. Great song 👌🏽😁
Charlie one does describe this brilliant record as “ nice”…😉

I'm not. I'm talking about who sang the most and that person was Anderson. Jeez 🙄
