It's both good and bad news! Good being that PayPal is one of the most recognized payment processors in the world and it's going to make it easier for loved ones to send and receive without problems! Bad being that a western payment processor who also processes the now"illegal bitcoin, money made out of thin air," is allowed to operate in Nigeria, while payment processors founded by Nigerians is being choked to death by an uneducated government, who doesn't understand how supply and demand or inflation or hyper inflation works! God help us all. I want to thank you and every other Nigerian for building this country to where it is today. It's not the government, but we who did in spite of their endless corruption

Thank you Fisayo for this analysis. The current trade architecture between the continent of Africa and the West is 600 years old. It’s based on ‘taking’ from the continent. That’s why for decades there’s no serious investment across the continent in many sectors. That has led to us being a net importer continent , which suits them perfectly. It is by design. The same thing has played out with PayPal etc The African governments MUST break this hegemony if NOT we will remain bound in ‘financial chains.’ Nigerian govt need to wake up to spear head this change. Hopefully, they will. 👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾😎

PayPal is just taking advantage of the emerging growth, especially in the African market. Spotify also just did so, Africa is an organic wealth-generating economy and every foreign stakeholder wants a piece of the cake. My concern would be in the blueprint especially in the terms of the agreement. Will PayPal eventually want to acquire most of our fintech? Are they trying to be the sole competition? We are about to witness the African Rush 2.0. Amazing video Fisayo
